The King of Customization! Exploring Angel Custom Airsoft Upgrade Parts!

Published 2024-07-01 by Tyler J.

How good are Angel Custom upgrade parts?

The possibilities are limitless!

For many airsofters, the initial allure of simulating combat with realistic replica firearms is the main hook that draws one into the hobby. It’s an absolute blast to aim down sights, pull the trigger, and watch your BBs soar towards your adversary! At least… until you realize that your opponent seems to have an easier time hitting you than you do hitting them. Is it a skill issue? Or is there some mechanical difference in the equipment you’re using that’s losing you eliminations on the airsoft battlefield? You take a look down at your rifle and start to wonder how it flings a BB at 350 feet per second in the first place. Is there anything that can be done to improve to the flight trajectory? Can the trigger pull be lightened for easier successive semi-automatic shots? Airsoft guns can’t be that complicated… can they?

Airsoft gun modification is a hell of a rabbit hole. There are hundreds of unique guns on the airsoft market that each have their own selection of aftermarket upgrade parts to choose from. Such a wide sea of customization options opens the window to an entire new take on the hobby: the joy of modification and optimization. Sure, your airsoft gun might be able to consistently hit a target at 100 ft. But, if you install a Angel Custom V-Type Airsoft AEG Hopup Bucking (Hardness: 70 Degrees / 375-500 FPS), can that be pushed out to 120ft? There also lies the question of what aftermarket parts might best fit with other upgrade parts for better parts tolerance. If you decide to push your system’s velocity even further, reinforcement parts might be necessitated for the longevity of the platform. Once you change one internal part, it opens the gates for a cascade of other upgrades that can evolve into a fully custom airsoft build.

Angel Custom is a brand that works closely with us at Evike.com to provide a wide selection of niche and high quality airsoft modification parts. Much of their catalog comes from real world requests that our techs have had for the airsoft market. When the market called for a more reliable fixed-barrel system for the Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa, Angel Custom answered the call with the Angel Custom CNC Aluminum Fluted Outer Barrel for TM / AW Custom Hi-Capa 5.1 Series Airsoft GBB Pistols (Color: Black). For a time, there wasn’t a bulletproof piston option on the airsoft market for those that wanted to do incredibly high stress AEG builds… at least until the Angel Custom "KRATOS" Ultra High Strength / High Performance Steel Teeth AEG Piston (Model: KRATOS Standard) came along. In this article, I’ll highlight a few of Angel Custom’s best innovations to provide some ideas for your next airsoft rifle upgrade suite. Keep in mind that professional installation is always recommended if you’re not perfectly comfortable with risking the disassembly of your rifle. Airsoft guns can be rather tricky to put together just right! If you have any questions about getting your rifle professionally serviced by our team of skilled technicians here at Evike.com, shoot an email to [email protected]! Let’s dive right into some cool airsoft parts!

Angel Custom AEG Internal Parts

Airsoft technicians can be incredibly picky about the material of their specific internal parts. When it comes to perfecting your AEG gearbox’s internal timing, every ounce of weight can matter for a part’s given cycle time. If you’re planning on creating a high speed build and need maximally reduced weight in your system’s piston drive train, I highly recommend Angel Custom’s Seraph Angel II piston head. This piston head hits about every checkmark for what a good piston head should have. The adjustable spacer makes the piston easy to adjust for AOE (Angle of Engagement) correction purposes, and the deep threading on the center screw hole ensures secure attachment and centering to your piston system. Although it’s a relatively simple part that just serves as the sealing block to compress air, minor details can make a massive difference in your rifle’s longevity. All it takes is one weak link for your rifle to fail! Let it not be the piston head with this Angel Custom SeraphII!

A high quality piston head demands an equally high quality piston! The Angel Custom Kratos was born out of a collaboration with Evike and Umbrella Armory, specifically engineered to meet the most intense demands for rigorous airsoft technicians. Before the Kratos, high quality airsoft pistons were hard to come by. Steel tooth pistons existed, but they weren’t the highest quality they could’ve possibly been. If you need a piston that can survive hell and back after hundreds of thousands of cycles, you might want to go with the Kratos. We’ve recently designed the KRATOS II as well, which features an extended shaft length, a half-cut tooth for easier AOE correction, and a fancy Gold Titanium Nitride coating that can better display points of wear after stress. Won’t settle for anything less than durability overkill? It’s Kratos time!

Steel is more durable than brass. Over time, regular use of your AEG can build up micro-scratches on the inside of your inner barrel than affect performance. Most airsoft rifles come with brass inner barrels stock for their cost effectiveness. If you’re looking for a precision inner barrel made out of a material with a much higher lifespan, I recommend taking a look at Angel Custom’s SUS304 Steel barrels! It’s much more difficult for minor scratch inconsistencies to build up on steel!

Gas Blowback Upgrade Parts

I’m quite the fan of Angel Custom’s GBB parts! The Angel Custom nozzles have always been a substantial upgrade for air seal and product durability in my experience. This complete upgrade kit comes with a few other neat accessories to really piece together your Hi-Capa build. The upgraded guide rod has a bearing on the end to reduce spring buckling, and the higher power included internal springs are a nice touch if you want to play around with how spring strength affects your internal performance. With GBB systems, a stronger spring is not always better. Different gas types, parts materials, and intended use applications are variables to consider when setting up your GBB system. This parts kit offers quite a few options for optimizing your build to your liking!

I love when the inexpensive solution is the better solution! For any WE M4 GBB users out there, this nozzle is an absolute must have. Airsofters looking to get into gas systems tend to ask how to lower their system’s high advertised muzzle velocity. Most WE M4s do come shooting over 400 FPS out of the box after all. Many are directed to the RA-Tech NPAS system for it’s “easy adjustability,” but those kits can be rather pricey and have their own set of issues. I’ve found the easiest solution to be these Angel Custom nozzles, since they come with 2 rocket valve springs that offer a medium and low FPS setting depending on which spring you choose. With the weaker spring, I achieved a FPS of 330 with a 363mm inner barrel. With the stronger, 380 FPS with improved consistency over the factory nozzle. Changing the internal spring on the nozzle is a tad more time consuming than adjusting an NPAS system, but I simply prefer how simple this nozzle’s design is. Highly recommend this excellent piece!

Just because you’re using a gas blowback doesn’t mean you should have to suffer the full force of it’s simulated recoil. With the Angel Custom lightened blowback housings, your pistol’s slide weight can be substantially reduced to provide a lighter recoil impulse, improved gas efficiency, and a faster overall cycle time. These work quite well when paired with a 130% recoil spring!

External Parts

On top of their internal parts, Angel Custom has a fascinating selection of external modifications that range from tactically useful to just plain cool. Here’s a few of my favorites from their expansive catalog:

Sometimes you need something a step above basic to really make your rifle pop. The Angel Custom HIVE suppressor’s unique aggressive hex styling not only looks badass, but has a solid aluminum build construction that makes it feel quite authentic. It comes in a few different color/length options, giving this suppressor much more stylistic versatility depending on your preferred color setup. If you’re trying to run a longer inner and need a cool can to cover it up with, this one is quite an eye catcher!

Drum mags can be iffy in airsoft. Much like their real-steel counterparts, their feeding systems are complex and can be prone to misfeeds if not set up right. Out of all the drum magazines on the market, I’ve found the Angel Custom Firestorm Flashmag to be one of the most straightforward and reliable. Its winding string is simple and mechanical, ridding the system of a need for batteries and electronics. They’re relatively easy to disassemble if anything is to jam and are overall a solid choice if you wish to never reload. To top it all off, the Firestorm drum magazine system has fourteen different attachment options for unique rifle types. No matter your platform, there’s a firestorm magazine for you!

A cool charging handle can be the perfect finishing touch for a customized rifle build! One of the biggest ergonomic flaws of the basic M4 system is it’s relatively uncomfortable charging handle. The basic design has a left hand safety and little grip room for your fingers. This Angel Custom design is ambidextrous and offers a much larger grip point for racking the charging handle back. We offer them in both GBB and AEG variants with a few color and laser engraving options respectively!

If there are many rifles like yours, is it really yours? Customization is the key to defining your warrior silhouette. The mere sound of how your rifle cycles should be an indicator of your battlefield presence. From within, your training weapon should carry the parts you’ve painstakingly researched to fit the best. On the outside, your training weapon should ergonomically and visually be a symbol of who you are and how you fight. Wield the weapon of your dreams today with the help of Angel Custom’s parts sold exclusively at Evike.com!
