"Absolutely love my MG-42. It's everything I hoped it would be. Although the charging handle is kinda useless and not that sturdy.

"I purchased this agm mg42 back in october 2018 and never realized that I never left a review for it until today. I'll start off with saying that the mg42 I recieved was produced by s&t (both the box and the manual said s&t mg42. The only major problem that I had with this gun is the screw/bolt that holds the pistol grip to the mg42 came loos a year ago and the gear box is aparently a split gearbox design and half of it came out when the pistol grip fell out. Luckily they designed their gearbox like an ics split gearbox so all I had to do is slide it back together and get a new bolt for it. The only other problem I had with this gun is the charging handle, which I would suggest removing whenever playing a game of airsoft. At least from my experience, it has great range and rps (25 rps) with an 11.1 lipo battery.
Pros:

Can shoot to about 100 to 150 feet depending on wind with .2 bbs
It looks great and will have a lot people admiring your gun and strength
Very durable and long lasting
Real mg42 and replica mg42 straps fit it

Some bolts may come loose over extended use so I would suggest checking them
The magazine has a sliding door on the top that doesnt stay in place and if removed spills bbs out, but it's easily modified with tape or velcro tape

When seen by itself it looks really cool, but when compared with the g&g mg42 it doesnt look half as real or as sturdy, but the g&g seems to weigh at least 10lbs more than the s&t mg42

Overall I really love this gun. I am a lmg fan boy and love WW2 history. This gun and it's original mag has lasted me 3 years going on 4 on a 11.1 lipo with me holding down the trigger constantly for accurate surppressive fire.

"Fantastic Machine gun. This machine gun with a 11.1 volt lipo 1100 mAh shoots around 1000 rpm. If you are looking for a machine gun that just sprays bb's at enemy players this is what you want. Of course there are better/cheaper options out there, once you have an mg42, you will be glad you got it. Mine had two problems however. The charging handle is loose, and the drum broke on me. The charging handle issue is not that bad and just being careful with it is ok. The drum I fixed by adding a manual switch (very easy). Overall great gun.

"II got this aeg as a Christmas gift. I pesonaly love the gun and have a very big interest in the weapons capacity and rate of fire. I love the weight of the gun, very heavy. (That could be a pro or a con.) the weight is very authentic and well made. The stock is not wobbly but in fact sturdy. The bipod has two places where you can insert the bipod.
The bipod is a little tricky at first but you get used to it.

"Assembled this today. I found that the bipod attached very easily. It is very wobbly and will take some decent strength to hold in a position for a prolonged amount of time. (This weighs in at 22 pounds) The tricky part I found was attaching the magazine. Its easy once its done and attached though.
The rate of fire is crazy on this gun. I use a 1600 battery (forgive me I'm new to airsoft). I would say out of the box its shooting 500+ a minute easily.
Cautionary note!! This calls for a mini battery. I may have missed that on the webpage but the manual calls for a mini style battery but will accept a normal sized one but will have to be placed outside of the battery compartment.
One thing I did notice though was inside the magazine drum there was a bit of wire exposed but no damage to any wires. So its a simple case of electrical tape.
Overall I'm very pleased with this gun and recommend this for anyone wishing to play as support.

"Awesome gun lays down some serious cover fire, you need to be strong to effectively shoot while moving the gun to diffrent positions on the field. Great gun overall hard to find something I don't like about it, mg42s are just kind of magical arnt they.

"AGM Matrix MG42
Just got my MG42 a few days ago and was very impressed with it!
The gun came very well packaged and all parts were accounted for.
It's true what they say about the gun being heavy but that's no problem.
I plan on using the gun as its intended, as a support weapon. After trying multiple small type batteries I had to use a nunchuck battery to get the proper fit. There's a tiny bit of wobble in the butt stock but it's not enough to cause a problem. The non-functioning charging handle has a little wobble in it so I plan to leave it off during scenarios. I had no issues with the feeding of bb's with the drum mag, just read instructions. After firing about 1500 rounds and adjusting the hop up I had no jams and the gun fires perfectly. I suggest cleaning the barrel prior to use to get the excess oil buildup out of there to get the best performance out of the gun. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend this gun for anyone that plans on being a squad gunner.

"This gun is pretty sweet. It is heavy, and looks just like the real thing. I wouldn't want to drop it, because due to its weight I think some parts could break off. I wish it was all steel, but whatever. I am not using it as an airsoft gun, but a prop gun for movies, and it's perfect. Just be aware that the flash hider is all plastic, not like pictured.

"I used this gun in an outdoor event 3 weeks ago, and dominated the field. It's big and heavy so moving around with it is a chore. Once you take up a firing/support position, the bad guys stay pinned down. When they expose themselves they are quickly dispatched.

"This gun is the biggest and heaviest out there. The gun is easy to put together. For the most part the gun feels pretty solid. Some parts like the charging handle once on leave it, because it will probably break if you use it. I bought this mainly as a collector piece. I am not into AEGs, they sound like a wind up toy.

"Recently received the MG42 after waiting for YEARS for a gun like this to be released. Gun is VERY solid and made of all metal. The stock is BEAUTIFUL. Only exterior "plastic" parts are the panel covers on the pistol grip which are made to look like wood. It is reported the gun shoots about 350 fps... however mine chrono'ed at 375 FPS using .25g BB's...which translates to roughly 420 fps with .20's.
Learned a few tricks after tinkering with this gun for a bit. First of all. When you pull the trigger, it is possible to fire the gear box but not engage the winding mechanism in the box magazine (which feeds great by the way and holds 2400 rounds!) If you find your MG42 dry fires, just make sure to give your trigger just a tiny bit of extra squeeze to engage the winder in the box mags.
Secondly, the winder in the box mag rotates quickly, and actually runs faster than your gun fires. I have had happen once or twice where the bb's would basically back up inside the winder and the extra pressure the winding mechanism created would cause the feeding tub (a spring big enough for BB's to travel through) to actually recede and pop loose from the plastic hopper unit that feeds the BB's into the gun to be fired. Until I find an easier solution (as if this one isnt alread) I tore a 4" strip of duct tape into 3 segments and taped the feeding spring tube down with 2 of the pieces and used the third piece to run across the top of the plastic hopper box and down the length of the hopper spring an inch or so just to make sure it couldn't pull itself out of the box as the bb's tried their hardest to feed regardless of going into the gun or just all over! Real simple fix and after that quick taping job things worked like a charm.
In the end. This gun's rate of fire and solid FPS is exactly what I was hoping for. I am not sure of the RPS exactly but would probably put it between 14-18 RPS depending on if you are using a 8.4 or 9.6 battery. I like this gun shooting a tad slower than other guns as there are 2 settings "Safe" or "Full Auto", a slightly slower speed ensures enough pwnability mixed with keeping your ammo and batteries lasting long enough for extended fights and laying down good suppression. The gun will fit up to 9.6v 1600mah Nunchucks just fine (it is what I have been using.) For a long day of play I would ensure having a few extra batteries if you really like laying on the trigger!

-No sling mounts. A real MG42 has sling mounts under the barrel and the grip.

"I bought this for the "collectible" aspect as I know I would never be able to get my hands on a real MG42... That said, it is a beautiful piece... Everything looks and feels great about it except for one small thing, the flash hider... I was hoping it would be configured like the ones pictured above and in the video but it isn't... Again I understand that it has to be made "legal" for sale here in the US with that bright orange thing I just didn't like the way it was done on the actual gun that shipped... I don't own a chrono machine and don't really play airsoft but I can say it seems to shoot just fine and was fun to feed some rounds through... All in all I give a solid 9.5 out of 10 and that's only because of the flash hider thing I touched on before... This gun looks FANTASTIC with all my other WWII replicas... Thanks for making this thing available Evike!!!
