"Not sure if this gun is still in production so this is a quick review.
*Precise and reliable. I keep it lubricated and it works fine.
*All polymer body, which means it's extremely lightweight. Just don't bang around on it too much to avoid cracks.
*Unparalleled recoil. It's lightweight so all that blowback energy just kicks into you. Everyone I let use this thing gets a huge smile on their face. This also means that you gotta dial in your optics cuz you aint seein where that BB goes when your gun is shaking.
*Loud cracking sound when fired
*Mags are a bit expensive but can hold just under 40 rnds. HOWEVER, you need to file open the feeder lips so normal sized BBs will slip through. Feeder lips will crack open after some use otherwise.
*There's a carbine conversion kit out there if you want to up FPS for outdoor range, but the accuracy of the standard barrel still lets you land hits from decently far away.
*I ended up buying a second one after years of use because IDK what I'd do without this.
* Recommended if you you want a good sensory shooting experience while still having an accurate gun, so long as you don't mind maintaining a gas blowback gun.

"Great cheap gbb airsoft gun.
I got this gun cuz I wanted to have some fun with friends and would lend him that gun...but now I wanna use it and let him have my gun, very sturdy plastics and metal internals, could take a 20 foot fall like a champ and work fine. i think the only bad thing about it is that the button to fold the stock is a bit hard to press in but that should be no problem. and the muzzle is pretty big but that also doesn't matter in a gun just looks large. and the last thing is that it is alittle on the smaller side and is close to a pdw but its good for short and medium ranges. everything else does work like a real gun, nothing is loose or rattling, fitted nice and tight. plenty of rails for modularity. it does shit with a bad mag tho but you can still use it fine the only reason i think its bad is because its co2 carriage fed and is hard and slow to reload them things, but has a good 5 mags of ammo until it runs out. you can buy the green gas mags and thats what im going to do to save on time. all in all 82/100 gun

"This is GHK's "budget gbbr". However, for it being a budget gun, it competes with almost every gbbr out there. If you're not looking to pay the heavy price tag of their m4s or AKs, the G5 will suit your needs almost just as well as those other 2 in many aspects.

Pros:
-Very lightweight, which is good for long game days and fatigue.
-Magazine capacity is misleading, I could only ever get 30 rounds max instead of the advertised 40. However, this is overshadowed by amazing gas efficiency. I can get 2 mags out of these magazines even in winter, and 3 to 4 in summer.
-Lightweight Magazines (The new gmags, previous G5 mags were quite heavy.)
-Accuracy is exceptional and can be easily upgraded with aftermarket parts. Personally, though, the hopup and barrel are perfectly fine, and I don't see a need to upgrade until they break.
-Heavy HEAVY recoil. Seriously this thing kicks, and makes shooting it never get old. (This can be a con as well though see below)
-Completely ambidextrous. The charging handle requires some disassembling to switch, but thats fine because if you're right-handed you won't be switching it anyway.
-The stock iron sights are pretty good as well.

Cons:
-Plastic Body. Its a very strong and sturdy polymer, but if you're going for realism this gun is for sure not for you.
-The Infamous G5 Crack. Even the V2 G5's can get this crack. It can be easily avoided though by always shouldering the weapon, and never shooting with the stock folded. To ensure it doesn't crack, you can do the "epoxy mod" look it up on youtube or the internet because I personally haven't done it.
-If you're a big person, the G5 can feel quite small and underwhelming. (could be a pro as well)
- The Charging Handel can break, as it is polymer as well. There are aftermarket steel/metal charging handles to choose from though, but do be careful with the stock charging handle if you plan on keeping it stock.
-Magazine are expensive. $60 each here on evike, which can destroy anyone's wallet. I think you need atleast 3-4 mags to be able to perform well enough for a long period of time.

"i love this gun, great price for a gbbr solid polymer great looks good feel, my only problem was that the stock wiggled in any of the extended positions and the stock broke after it fell of a 3.5 foot shelf (nothing bad easy fix just need superglue) GHK fix the stock make a gen 3!!! otherwise no regrets! i highly recommend it just modify the stock. five stars, GHK FIX THE STOCK WOBBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"SKIRMISH UPDATE!

After a while of playing with the g5, my 5-star rating stands!
Only had one problem with the gun: The stock hopup kind of crumbled under propane. It would not do this with green gas, but I decided that I wanted I metal hopup anyway.
The GBL unit works great.

FPS before was about 310 FPS with .25

After 225 mm 6.01 barrel install and GBL hopup I get 350FPS with .25

"One word: WOW!
Pros n' cons:

Pros:
-Light
-40rd magazines last longer than you think indoors
-cheap (not quality, but price wise. This is because coupons can be used!)
-Stock range + Accuracy rivals my TM aug HC
-Takes AEG barrels and Buckings, as well as nubs (flat/R hop, anyone?)
-Kits available
-Zero cooldown on a mag in full auto
-good ROF
-semi is crisp
-Super comfy with AFG
-RECOIL!

Cons:
-HK slaps will break the charging handle
-Not much rail space on the sides
-Receiver cracks? (I believe the Gen 2 fixed this, and I have not had this issue.)
-Took a week to get to my house
-No, it is NOT the scorpion EVO. People ask and it can be annoying.

Verdict: Buy it :D

"Great GBBR. Has a very nice kick and is very light (without the magazine. That's where all the weight is.) The magazines are great and have a nice cool down rate. You can fire a magazine on full auto no problem. Gas consumption is pretty good. I usually go through 2-3 mags full. Here's my pros and cons list:

Pros:

Great kick
Good mag cool down rate
Lightweight
Sound of the bolt
They also send you a FREE metal flash hider.

Cons:

Magazines are a PAIN to reload with provided speed loader
Speed loader cracked
Mag is a bit too heavy
Mag feels different putting gas in (just for me not sure about others)

"BEST GBBR FOR THE MONEY EVER!!! A hard kicking gbbr for under 300? F*#k yes!
Great construction and ergonomics. As the shortest configuration it is absolutely blast to shoot and recoils harder than an LM4, BY FAR!!! weighs less than the magazine as a pdw and the 2 extension kits bumps the fps to godly level. With a simple wheel hop up unit that surrounds the barrel it allows very consistence hop up and with stock bucking and barrel it reached out through thick brushes and made contact with someone with only their head exposed at 40 yards so no need for a tbb or new bucking to be competitive. Magazines are by far the best I have ever used, very minimal cool down and affects from weather.

Magazines are a bit expensive but won't give out on you unless you fail to maintain them properly, ~38-39 rounds will keep a smile on your face while surpressing even p* noobs.

*As long as you shoulder the gun and do not fold the stock while shooting this gun will keep going until you decide to stop, and even then with the crack in the lower it will still keep going. absolute workhorse. replacement parts are hard to come by but there are licensed dealers in canada (wish EVIKE would carry more parts) that has replacement parts if you need it.

**This gun and even the GHK M4 was meant for hardcore milsim that wants the feel and realism out of airsoft (outside of recoil from a Daytona) and is a great addition for any gbbr master race.

"First GBBR, so far, extremely happy.

Pros:
1. Excellent gas efficiency
2. Sturdy magazines
3. Very customizable
4. Incredible trigger
5. Very sturdy rifle
Cons:
1. Charging handle is pretty flimsy
2. Magazines are ridiculously over priced, like all GBBR magazines (biggest reason I haven't bought one sooner)

Over all, If you are looking for an excellent GBBR (and can stomach the magazines being a 1/5th of the cost) this is the one to pick.

-lightweight
-Strong build
-Accurate
-Easy to open up and do maintenance on it
-Very uncommon on fields so you'll be recognized

Con:
-None!

"These GHK products are simply fantastic. The G5 is perhaps the best one yet. Gas efficiency, build quality and in the case of the G5, price are unbeatable. A small, light weight, efficient and great customization platform.

"This gun is amazing! It is the most fun gun to shoot with the kick! It has so much kick it makes my replica EOTech shake off the rails! The first time I used it this guy saw it and wanted to play the next game with me because it is so AWESOME!

Pros
-amazing kick
-polymer which keeps it light weight
-you will fell like a badass when using it

Cons
-magazines are very heavy but it makes the gun a good weight
-so much kick it knocks my holographic sight off, but I just tape it on.
-magazines are expensive, but overall it is ok

Over all, with the cons, I still love the gun. I put magpuk furniture on it too

"This gun is a CQB hammer! Very accurate for its barrel length. It also has the most kick of all my GBB guns. It's easy to carry, due to its light weight. With a loaded magazine in it, well it has a nice balance to it. The magazines are the only drawback, expensive and some of mine have developed fatal leaks, making them useless. So Evike get magazine spare parts so I can fix them. All in all I highly recommend this gun if you want to step out from the M4 crowd.
