"got as my starting gun, hasn't failed me once, and is as heavy as a real SKS. if you want a good, weighty budget gun, that is stupid reliable, this is your gun.
however, I would modify it just a bit in order to make it better for actual games.
first off, the trigger isn't great, it's pretty mushy. if you just pull through it, and full send in auto, it's no big deal. in semi auto, you will notice it, and there is a small delay between when you pull the trigger and when it shoots, about 0.2 seconds. i have no clue if this is an issue with AEGs in general, but I do have another gun coming in soon, and i will see if it occurs on that too.
that is the only thing i could think of for gripes with performance, accuracy is pretty good, i have hit a 1 foot target at about 30 yards relatively consistently with not much deviation, just the slight wind that threw me off.
I would recommend a new handguard if you want attachments, as this one has only a dovetail mount for optics, so if you want something like a laser, you need something to mount it on. I have looked at LCT-9 lower handguards, as it would turn it into a Kastov 762 from MWII if you get some AKM magazines with it (or an AK-103 for normal people), and should fit in with minor modifications. the only thing stopping me is the $80 cad ship to canada fee slapped on top of a $25 cad product. and nobody sells it in canada except for shady websites.
TL:DR: it's a great gun, performs great, and is perfect for starting and has lots of room for customisation and modification.

"I have had this rifle going on 3 years now and it has yet to fail me, it shoots very consistently at around 380ish with and 11.1 lipo after breaking in. i have used it in countless pick up games and two milsim wests.
pros
built well
lasts forever
consistent
takes most magazines
cons
kinda picky with lct furniture
my small tamiya connector broke
other than those there are no cons, rifle has yet to truly fail me.
highly recommend this rifle

"Absolutely amazing starting gun, new spring and it was great for cqb and runs all the mags I have used well. the employee who probably welded my flash hider to this ruined this gun as it's impossible to remove and I broke my front trunion because of it, cyma does not sell replacement barrels for this gun. Don't make the same mistake.

"I got the 'package' deal. Cyma AK's are solid and this one is no different. No wobbles in the handguards, stock locks up well when open. Looks great.
Included battery (7.4v LiPo) was 'meh' and gave out about half way through the day. Not a huge deal breaker as I usually change out batteries mid day to avoid over discharging my LiPo.
Included LiPo charger is good for charging only - no discharge/storage mode. And it gets quite hot while charging. I probably won't use it as I have a IMAX B6 smart charger.
Pros:
- FPS on mine was 390 fps with .25g when tested at the field. So probably in the advertised 425-435 range with .20g Local field has me tagged 'yellow' and MED because of high FPS
- Full metal receiver, solid
- Adjustable front/rear sights
- Heavy (may be con too depending on you)
Cons:
- Mushy trigger. Make sure to pull it back all the way.
- Tamiya battery connector (easily fixed by replacing it with T / Dean's style)
- Limited battery space under dust cover. 1000 or 1200 maH stick type LiPo fit easily though
Also, the inner barrel is not 509mm. I ordered a ZCI 6.02 509mm barrel and it sticks out into the flash hider. Actual length of stock barrel is 500. Not a big deal, but thought I would mention it.
Overall a good choice especially if you catch it on sale.

"It’s one of my favorite guns I have. It shoots super accurate! And the range is really nice on it to! And whoever made it got it to look almost identical to a real one! Love how it shoots and the durability is awesome!

"Rifle is great, shoots and works as intended. It is pretty accurate and the iron sights are dead on (not to mention front sight post drum is working, so you can adjust it for windage and elevation if need be and you won't need a sight tool to press it in/out as it's pretty easy to move) Ordered with 1400 mah 7.4v butterfly type lipo and it fits easily into the front trunnion of the gun under the dust cover, leaving plenty of space for a pack of peanuts.
I was concerned about CYMA quality, but found my fears unfounded. I used to own an E&L AKS-74MN and the CYMA comes pretty darn close (however my E&L came with a canted rear sight, so E&L is not problem free either). The finish on the CYMA isn't as nice (the rear leaf sight is painted with a bad looking shiny black) and it's missing some nice detail like serial number stamping on front trunnion, but I can't complain for the price, you get a lot for your buck. I have not inspected internals, so cannot comment there.
I bought this to use as a training aid with my real AK (since getting to the range during the 'rona is proving hard) and for that it, it is suited perfectly. The weight is only about 100 gram difference. The distribution of weight is a little different from a real AK, being more back heavy (where as the real one is more front heavy due to steel barrel and muzzle brake). However, the geometry of the weapon and even the fire selector switch feel very comparable, which is exactly what I needed this for. I have installed an aftermarket handguard and foregrip on this (identical to the one on my real AK) and I can confirm that real AK handguards will fit this no problem (I had to custom-fit the handguard, but I had to do the same on my real AK).
Overall, super happy with my purchase, big fan of this gun and CYMA now!

"Very well put together, very good accuracy and the hop-up is great, overall a good experience from CYMA

"I bought this Gun as a backup for my main CYMA AKM thinking that they would be relatively the same besides some minor updates and changes. Here is what I found.
compared to the real production AK-74m it is almost on point aside from the ribbed dust cover. the stock is really sturdy when it is in the extended position, but the locking mechanism that holds the stock in the rear is a little loose and could use a stronger spring. the features that are listed states it has a steel barrel and that is false unless there is a non magnetic steel, but the construction of the gun is far superior to my older Cm048m. The hand guard is robust polymer and wont ever break. the muzzle break is actual steel with a small orange tip that can be removed. the performance of the gun is really good it cronos at 390-395 with .25 and 310 with .30. Because the inner barrel is ridiculously long accuracy is amazing and you can touch out to 350 and even 400ft with some accuracy. The hop up is made of metal and the gearbox is a VFC clone. The rate of fire with a 9.6v and a 11.1 is around 22rps and sometimes 25 rps. the price per performance of this gun is great at around 190$-200$.
the only real con of this piece that i found was the stock retention when folded and trying to extend it again some times it just bounces back when you try to extend it. but this easily fixed with new springs or could be over looked.

"Pretty good, the gun shoots great, no problems so far. However the battery replacement is a pain to get in especially if you plan to use a scope mount. Other than that great quality.

"A good ak74m and even has the strength of one I recommend using a 9.6v if your having a slow fire rate. It can take any stick battery as long it isn't thicker then a 8.4
EDIT: I got a lemon and so I had to tear it down to inspect the parts and to say its bad is incorrect the only problem was that the O rings where smaller then standard. So the compression was severely lacking, This does not mean cyma is horrible however same with the gun. Just be aware work will be needed to make the gun perform the best

"I got this second hand and it was completely stock, and all I can say is damn this thing is amazing.
PROS:
insane range, like 250+ on .25's with hop a little up
full metal it's damn tough
easy to upgrade
relatively cheap
CONS:
slow rate of fire even with an 11.1
not a whole lot other than that

"This is a very good gun. I would say it is in the middle quality and it is a very accurate gun. The only problem with the gun is that I use a High volt battery with this and it doesn't feed in full auto sometimes.( I would recommend you getting a 7.4v battery) Now to what everyone likes reading
Pros:
Side folding stock
Very sturdy
It has a lot of space where you put the battery
Its heavy ( Could be a con for some people or just use a sling)
Its an Ak74!!!
People love asking that they like the gun and if they can try it (could be a con)
Cons:
None but I only have personal ones
My stock is a bit wobbly now
Hard taking the muzzle off
I would recommend getting this gun, It looks sexy and feels sexy.

"This gun has a great shot and is amazing. The stock is a tiny bit wobbly but it's no that bad. There was a problem that might happen to you and it is the selector switch might be very loose. So take of the metal piece at the end of the selector switch take it of and screw in the screw and it tight
