"After boiling down my options for CQB/short-barreled AEGs, I'm so glad it was this gun that went under Epic Deals. I'm sure the other reviews have already pointed out the amazing pros of this SMG, but I at least wanted to say how easy it is to disassemble/access this gun and how it reminds me of the ACR/SCAR. After a year of use, it continues to shoot without issue and it even accepts my boneyard G&G UMG mags, albeit tightly. I've had two guys ask me where I got this gun and honestly, it would be cool to see more of these on the field. 10/10 would buy again.

"Very good gun. I have had this gun for only 2 weeks now but it has performed great in that time. The trigger response is great and the rps with an 11.1 lipo is around 15-16 rps. The quality also feels awesome. I have used this gun in 1 battle so far and it was a lot of fun to use.

"This is the SMG to beat them all in price and performance. There is quite a bit to love about this airsoft replica. I will rant a bit then get into pros and cons.

The thing I was surprised by is it really is a big replica. I always had this preconceived notion that SMGs were supposed to be small or midsize but it really is just as beefy as a standard M4 or MK18. I wish this was out before I bought a Colt sportsline M4 "Go Airsoft Package" because the UTR45 was and still is by far the better buy. The Colt replica feels WAY cheaper and more likely to break than this.

I have seen full size MP5 AEG replicas and they are just big. Like, a little too big and almost unnecessarily so. And I am a sucker for MP5s. This fits the SMG profile better and it has better battery space and build quality.

Pros:
- 6.03mm inner barrel already installed (I believe?? I wish Evike would just list inner barrel diameter AND ACCURATE LENGTH in the specs already for all of the replicas they have on their website. For crying out loud it is literally and legitimately one of the top 3 most need-to-know specs and you hardly list it). It is stupidly accurate.
- Programmable firing modes. That is really nice if you just want to run safe-semi-semi. There are plenty of videos teaching you how to program it.
- STURDY construction for a polymer replica. Better than the majority of airsoft AEGs and maybe become the standard for the future of budget airsoft... hopefully.
- Quick change spring system. This can be your indoor AND outdoor setup.
- Rotary hop-up system can get swapped out and upgraded with something like a MAXX HopUp which is great.
- Lightweight. I have a CYMA Platinum "Rapid Strike" PDW (ID: 36346) and that thing is HEFTY on its own. Evike says they are the same weight; however, they really are not. The CYMA weighs more. If you are concerned about weight, go with this over the PDW. Gym rats (who only work out their arms) can ignore this.
- Ample battery space AND connector adapter so you do not have to buy new batteries.
- CWISPY trigger response.

Cons:
- I had an alternative mag release switch (akin to an MP5 mag release) that was a bit of a pain to get installed so I just kept the original paddle one installed.
- I noticed there really is not much holding the mag in place and it does have *some* wobble to it. If the nub on the mag gets worn down too much just put a small piece of wood or something wrapped in electrical tape as a suitable handyman fix. It is something to consider but nothing to lose sleep over and you just learned how to fix something. Good for you! :)
- The charging handle is cool but, like the mags, does not seem to have the best retention when installed. I have not lost it yet, but I only install the charging handle to adjust the hop-up. Otherwise I keep it stored in a safe place.
- You read the review to this point and have yet to buy one? How is that even possible?

If I were to choose between an M4, MP5 and this UTR45, I would pick the UTR every day of the week and twice on Sundays. Yeah mags are proprietary, but they are SOLID. The programmable mosfet in a $180 airsoft replica is an absolute win. I have not seen many M4s or MP5s that have a mosfet at this price point so invest the money into this. It is totally worth it and you will have it for a while and never get sick of it. But hey, if you don't want this and you want to be a cookie-cutter airsofter with an M4 or MK18, at least buy a SPECNA M4 Core, Novritsch SSR4, or Lancer Tactical Gen 3. Those are all the same thing (tight bore barrels, programmable mosfets and whatnot) and are just as good if not better.

"Very Good Gun.

I’ve played with this gun for many hours over the past 1 1/2 years I’ve had it. It has been dropped and been roughed up many times and although I’ve never played on a airsoft field I’ve played with it in thick forests and fields and it has preformed very well. Through all of this it still functions.

The only problem that I’ve come across with this gun is that sometimes when I switch from different modes like safety and full auto it doesn’t shoot. I’m guessing this problem comes from either me dropping it several times or battery/motor issues.

This gun is very durable and it’s nice that its outer layer is composed of some sort of hard plastic which I think is polymer because it doesn’t rust or corrode. It also is very powerful and I would not be caught within an enemy that is 20 yards away with this gun because it HURTS.

"I got one of these from a player at my local field totally stock aside from upgrading the motor to an Ifrit orange motor, and let me tell you for this is a phenominal gun for indoor play at the price.
Mine chronos at 340 with .20s, trigger response with an 11.1V is super snappy. Body fit and finish are really tight, no creaks or wobble, has a nice weight to it and the ACR style stock has a lot of adjustment to get it perfect for you. You WILL need extra mags because they go quick with this little monster and its my understanding only the DE UMP mags are compatible, and they arent the easiest to find pouches for. But its a rock solid little rifle from my play with it so far.

"Great gun! The Falcon control system and quick change spring guide are great. My only problem (and this happened to my friends utr as well) if you run a sling the stock will extend itself which could make the gun drop on the ground. I fixed it and now it’s great!

"12 out of 10 amazing gun. Super affordable very well built and very snappy

"Bought the 400fps version figuring I’d get 350 out of it anyway, well I was wrong or they just put the wrong spring in from factory. Chrono with .20 was around 280-290…. Range was honestly trash 60’ before the bbs fell off hard with out hop up on, even worse with hop on. So then the journey starts, I changed the bucking and nub (maple leaf) and same thing with fps and range. Took it to local field and got a 300mm tight bore figuring it’s the barrel (wrong) tried a new spring out a m90 in and now it shoots straight, tagging targets at 120’ no problem and sits at 353fps with .20. So I don’t know if mine just had a bad/wrong spring but here’s info if this happens to you, thankfully it’s a quick change system

But anyway
• the gun is solid, solid as why spend the extra to get the metal version
•mags work flawlessly
•the mosfet is flawless as well
•gearbox sounds perfect
•all the adjustments to the stock length and cheek riser
•all the programs you can do, bianary, 2-5 burst, can semi lock to keep the selector out of the way
Cons
•cheek riser does kinda lift up if you don’t lock it in right
•stock doesn’t lock when folded (not a big deal for me)
•my spring situation (could just been mine)
Over all 10/10 for the price, very solid gun

"Cheapest ready to go mosfet. Cheaper here then where i bought it at my local shop for 250! it performs really well i recommend extra mag at least for cqc. Get a tracer on this bad boy and your ready to go. Solid build quality feels very sturdy and well built.

"Bought before Christmas with three mags and its been running good since at my local CQB field.

For only cqb arenas, it performs amazingly well. Its accurate enough for cqb distances, all the mags feed perfectly, and has solid mosfet and build quality for the price. I threw in a random high torque motor i had laying around, adjusted the pre travel of the trigger, and the response is kinda nuts now, especially thanks to the mosfet.

My only concern is with the upper receiver because the four screws in the back thread into the polymer stock, so it is very easy to cross thread and over tighten the screws.

"Amazing Gun! Especially for the price point. the trigger feels great and all of the tuning options are amazing

"So this was what I consider my first high end age and for an smg, wow it preforms better than a 170 price point. I purchased the 400 fps version and took it to evike Houston where it shot at 1.4 joules out of the box which is too hot for there. Nonetheless next weekend I took to to an outdoor field with an M90 spring and it shot beyond beautifully. It’s safe to say with this you will be competing very well with higher end aegs. This has the tunable trigger with binary and 2-5 round burst, look up a YouTube video and you’ll see. I think you would be better offf with the 350 fps version because of how hot it shoots, you’ll be able to do indoor and outdoor but if you want the 400 fps version there is a very easy to access quick change spring behind the folding stock. For build quality this thing is extremely sturdy and I could not be happier with it, barrel, receiver, and stock are incredibly tough(also has QD sling points). Slight mag wobble and note you will need to get the mags by double eagle, as far as I know those stock mags are the only ones that work in this Aeg. Should you pick one up? Absolutely. I’d recommend this to a beginner, someone who just wants a smg, or anybody into Airsoft. It’s an amazing smg, definitely am more than happy with what it’s done for me

"First time buying a SMG aeg, and this one did not disappoint. love that it comes with an electronic trigger and a mosfet gearbox. Shoots great right out of the box so really no need for adjusting, incredibly light so it great for indoor cqc. Magazines are easy to come by (if you just buy the ones from Evike)

One gripe for me personally really is that it didn't come with the alternative mag release so i was a little bummed out because of that. But NBD the gun is great and for its price worth it!

"I love this gun. Compared to my Elite Force Competition Kit MP5, this gun is cheaper, has better build quality, and feels way more sturdy. The stock has lots of battery space and is easily accessible without me feeling like I'm going to accidentally open it all the time. It also comes with a Mosfet with an electronic trigger and battery low protection, so I run an 11.1v Lipo in it. I wish my Krytac came with an electronic trigger and battery low protection... It's also great that it comes with a Mid Cap magazine, instead of a Hi Cap magazine that I will never use. If you're considering buying this gun, get it, you won't be disappointed.

On a side note, I think I misplaced the included alternative mag release, or maybe it wasn't included for me. Is there anywhere I can get another one?
