SIG Sauer Full Metal P226 Airsoft Gas Blowback Pistol by KJW

"The pistol works great. I have no complaints in regards to the function: shoots great, the hop-up works as expected, and the recoil is awesome. This would have given it a five start; however, I took one off for upgradeability. I tried multiple upgrades and they are hit and miss. The ones that didn't work:
-Angel Custom G2 SUS304 Stainless Steel 6.01mm GBB Tightbore Inner Barrel (97mm / Marui G Series 17 18C)
-Guarder Black Edition 6.02mm Precision Inner Barrel for TM P226 / G Series 17 Airsoft GBB Pistols - 96.9mm
-Guarder Matte Black Outer Barrel for MARUI / KJW / SoftAir P226 Series Airsoft Gas Guns
-Angel Custom PTFE Coated Rocket Valve for TM WE KJW 1911 MEU 226 Series Airsoft GBB Pistols
Neither tightbore barrel worked because the pistol's hop-up chamber has an additional ridge that neither tightbore could accomodate. Even filing down the ridges caused gas to leak bad with each shot. Guarder's outer barrel replacement didn't work because it was restricting the slide's ability to move. Additionally, putting the hop-up chamber assembly in it was very difficult and didn't fit all the way. The rocket valve doesn't fit in the stock gas nozzle. Maybe it is not combatible with KJW.
The upgrades that did work:
-KJW Metal Outer Barrel for KJW & Tokyo Marui P226 Series Gas Blowback Airsoft Pistols
-Guarder Enhanced Recoil & Hammer Spring Set for Tokyo Marui KJW P226 Series GBB Pistol
-Angel Ultimate DYNA Piston Head for WE TM Hi-CAPA M9 P226 1911 Airsoft GBB Pistol
-WE-Tech Magazines
The KJW outer barrel does not have anything protruding from the slide, like the stock orange tip. Awesome! The assembly fits in it as it's supposed to. I totally recommend the Enhanced Recoil Spring. It makes each shot feel waaaayyy better. Just racking the first round feels and sounds great. I haven't noticed any improvement with the Angel Custom piston head. And yes, the KJW 226 is combatible with WE-Tech magazines. Note however, not only buying WE-Tech magazines can be a hit or miss (due to gas leaks); but also, when new, they are somewhat stiff when trying to release it from the grip. They don't slide out as nicely as the KJW/Cyber Gun ones, when new.

"This is a good pistol and I have had mine for a few years now. I have a few problems with the gun. The mags are hard to find and not that good if you are looking for a good mag buy TM ones. Yes they are a little bit more but they work a lot better. Also, this gun is ok as far as range but is not the best I am able to hit targets out to 50 feet with a high chance of a hit and out to 100 feet this pistol is ok anything more than 100 feet is pushing this gun. It is also not that gas efficient. Overall this is a good gun for a backup gun but not my first choice.

pros:
good weight
ok kick
sights are good

cons:
mags hard to find
mags leak
not accurate

"This gun has beautiful performance. Its accurate, has a good deal of power, and reaches out to a respectable range for a sidearm. Its also very ergonomic and functional in its design. The slide release is one of the easiest to reach on any pistol I've seen, and the de-cocking lever is convenient. The mag release is also easily within thumbs reach. This pistol is also extremely easy to field strip, quite literally with the flick of a switch (er... lever).
The only issue I have run into with this gun is unrelated to the gun itself. Its the magazines that I have taken issue with. I have three KJ Works magazines for this gun, and all three began leaking around the same time. Initially soaking the O-Rings in silicone oil helped, but after some time that only provided a 5 minute solution, even replacing the O-Rings has inevitably led me right back to the same issue. Eventually I discovered that 1 of Tokyo Marui's 226 magazines fits this gun and is much more reliable and gas efficient.
I have to leave the verdict simply as, "great gun, terrible mags."

Pros
-Accurate
-Powerful
-Upper-average range
-Ergonomic and functional
-Very true to the "real steel" counterpart

Cons
-MAGS BLOW (in somewhat of a literal sense).

"This gun is great! Everything about the gun is awesome. It's loud, kicks hard, and when you release the slide it's almost like a real pistol. Only problem it that the mags for this gun leak like crazy. Without the magazine holding the gas you can't fire this weapon. So, overall great gun just try and get good magazines. But, for the magazine problem... 3 stars.
