"Okay, I received this gun and got a TON of upgrades with it as I wanted a custom masada, but not have the compatibility issues of the PTS variant (I've owned one previously and they're great, just not easy to upgrade). The reason why I went with this one is because the A&K masada's are basically M4s in the body of a masada, I'm reviewing it from both the stock and upgraded perspective

pros (stock)

it's a masada, it's unique
decent performance out of the box
good externals
tan is awesome

cons

hop up is garbage (I had trouble getting anything past 120ft)
not very accurate

pros (upgraded)

amazing trigger ranesponse
high ROF
insanely accurate
can really reach out and hit people
loud
has really good recoil
hits HARD (I built it to shoot 360 with .28) I feel like a jerk sometimes but whatever

cons (upgraded)

no magpul trade marks

so here's some upgrades I recommend getting with this

G&P CNC hop up chamber with air nozzle
maple leaf bucking
angle custom H nub
Mad Bull tight bore barrel 363mm
Lonex Titan high torque motor
G&P high torque gears
Lonex Piston
guarder piston head
guarder cylinder
guarder cylinder head
reinforced tappet plate
m120 spring
EF .28 BBs

hope this helped some people out, rating is 3/5 stock and 6/5 upgraded

"this gun comes out of the box performing very very well. definitely the best stock gun I've ever used.

Pros:
very ergonomic construction
immediate trigger response
fits any brand of stanag (M4/M16) magazine
feeds well with all brands I've tried
great ROF on an 11.1 lipo

Cons:
doesn't come with rail segments

over all an amazing AEG this is the best choice for a masada on the market

"I will preface this with saying this is my first personal airsoft gun. While my roommate and friend has several others.

Pro's
1. Looks- It looks and feels really nice. Very intimidating look!
2. Performance- It shoots VERY well for being completely stock. I added a 3-9x40 scope and I walked off 115 paces and was able to consistently hit a 8x10" target.
3. Price- The price is very good for the amount of gun you get!

Con's
1. Weight- It could be a pro or a con, I feel the gun is a little on the heavy side, but I am big and don't mind it. Smaller people might not like it as much.
2.Battery location isn't ideal, can't fit very much in there and it's a pain in the rear to get it in there and put the cover back on.

Overall I am very happy with this purchase, it shoots every bit as well as my friends Krytac SPR. The only thing the Krytac does better is rate of fire. It fires much faster. Though this gun isn't made to be used at full auto. It's meant for accuracy and distance and it does both very well. I would suggest this gun to anyone looking to get into DMR scene. It is fantastic so far.
Durability is in question so far, as it is brand new. I will update if something fails or not over the next few months.

"Great gun has everything I could have wanted and got it for a good price

Pros-
-reinforced metal gearbox
-almost everything else

Cons-
- my fuse burned out after 30 shots
- motor it comes with has a slow rate of fire so I switched it out for a matrix high speed motor

Overall best gun ever more accurate than my sniper and with the matrix motor it's also the fastest gun I've ever used as well

Sean A. Just get a matrix M90 spring for less than ten bucks and then your gun will be cqb ready and they changed the fps to the correct number
by Jeremy P. on 05/13/2015
"Received the rifle today and have put about 700 rounds through it. Its averaging 410fps which is just about what I wanted and has excellent accuracy and its ROF is exactly what would be expected here.

The hop-up is trash but can be replaced cheaply and in the end you have yourself a damn good rifle.

Out of the box it is performing far better than expected, so much so that my planned upgrades may be held off for a bit.

"I have both the black and tan versions of this gun so I feel like I can write a good pros and cons-ish review
Pros
Nice painted trademarks
Mostly abidextrous controls aside from charging handle
Working bolt catch
Folding and collapsible stock
Metal upper receiver
Flip up front and rear sights
QD mounts on the end of the handguard and stock
Cons
If you somehow break the pistol grip you will have to buy an entirely new lower receiver
A&K Masadas are notoriously hard for techs to work on
Battery space is a bit tricky but a 9.6 nunchuk will fit
Stock will come off if extended far enough
Rear sight is finicky and likes to Flip up on its own sometimes
Notoriously bad hop ups(mine are somehow great)
That's my review
Definitely recommend it

"I love this gun, the looks and the feel are great! There are a few problems, probably solved by using a better battery but because the battery compartment was so small i had to use a 7.4 lipo, the rof is quite bad. It shoots fare, and I almost always stay on semi it doesn't affect me too much. It does feel a bit like a dmr because of the length and how hard it shoots which is nice. The front as you already noticed does not have rails, but if you buy rails with holes and screws this is easily fixed and i personally use a grip on the front. The gun is also quite heavy too, so watch out for that.

"I've had this gun for a few years but since they're coming back in stock I figured I would give my opinion on the gun. To start, this is the best gun you can buy for under $300, period. The only problem I've had is that the stock air nozzle and hop-up cracked on me after a few months since they're plastic so buying the metal parts are definitely a good option. Other than those two parts, I've been running this on an 11.1 lipo for well over a year on a complete stock gear box and it's still running strong. Trigger response is snappy, ROF is solid and range and accuracy are respectable. External quality is superb. If you're looking for something other than an M4 or AK but don't want to break the bank, this is the gun for you.

Pros:
Ver. 2 reinforced gearbox
Ambidextrous controls
Can run an 11.1 lipo no problem
Great looking gun and excellent build quality
CQB and DMR options available

Cons:
Air nozzle and hop-up are made of plastic and can break easily. Luckily they make aftermarket parts out of CNC aluminum

"Very good gun! At first I thought it was going to be a bad gun but when I first played with it its was amazing. Well my gun shoots at ~415 fps out of the box at .20 gram bbs and that was over the limit at my local fields so I changed the spring. And I thing to note is it can be a pain to disassemble because of the the ambidextrous selector switch but that wont be a problem after you get use to it. Overall I think this is a great gun for the price and I'm planning to turn this gun into a DMR in the future
by Jack H. on 01/26/2015
"This gun is amazing! I was shooting almost 200ft straight out of the box. It is about half polycarb half metal so weight is perfect and evenly distributed. Just a word of advice, the stats say that it shoots 330-350 fps, but mine was shooting 435 fps.

PROS:
Perfect Weight
Very accurate
Comfortable
Reliable

CONS:
Hop up unit is a bit dodgy
by Conner M. on 11/22/2014
"Absolute astounding gun, this thing is a speed trigger beast with only an 8.4 NIMH even faster rate of fire with a 9.6, significant difference. Hop up is great except the the weird little clear rail piece thing fell out when I pulled back the bolt. Put a rubber band around the bucking and now it goes farther than my G&P AK contractor. 4.9 out of 5 because hop-up broke but super easy fix with its design ( No need to buy a new chamber or bucking just the mechanism that controls it,those needs to be switched up.) Taking it out this weekend to Orlando, expecting to wreck some people.
The beautiful quality of the black polymer leaves me speechless, I was going to paint it a tan snakeskin because I hate black guns but I found no need to. I didn't pay the 280 dollars but I would pay the original 330 to have this gun.
by Tommy S. on 04/03/2014
"First off, this gun is amazing. I've put around 3000 BB's through it and it never misses a beat. At first i was weary about getting this gun, but once i got it in the mail and used it a few times, i changed my opinion. Many people complain about the lower quality polymer but there is no problem because it is still really amazing. The metal upper receiver is slightly a different shade of tan then the rest of the body which makes it look sick! I have used other masada's and this is buy far the best. I didn't want to buy it at first because it doesn't have a retractable stock, but i like this stock better because it looks cooler and is more sturdy then the retractable one. The reason this gun is only $340, is because of the stock, lack of iron sights, lower quality pmag, and lower quality polymer. DONT LET THIS DETER YOU! The main question people face when getting a masada is to either get this, the higher quality magpul acr, or the A&k version. Get this; it is worth the money. The internals are the same as the $500 one, but its not going to break all the time like the a&k version WILL. This gun is totally worth it for the following reasons:

Pros::
Micro switch
375fps
great rof on a 9.6v 1200mAh
best trigger response then any other AEG out there
good build quality
metal upper receiver
great look with black attachments
rubber stock pad
MAGPUL!!
quick change barrel
functioning bolt catch
ambidextrous
G&P internals
ANYTHING that isn't polymer is metal
perfect inner barrel length
Once you hold a masada, you will never return to an m4
GREAT intermediate/pro starter platform
available rail hand guard or just attachable rails for $20

Cons::
Not very well molded polymer (still pretty good and durable)
mine didnt come with a metal flash hider
14mm POSITIVE
pmag mag from abs plastic
once you hold a masada, you will never return to an m4
YOU DON'T HAVE IT!!! lol

ps: I was unable to use a coupon on this but don't let it deter you; you will fall in love with this gun
pps: my black loadout looks SICK with this and tan looks really good on a masada
by cole p. on 03/30/2014
"Amazing gun! its totally worth the $!

pros-
stock motor is great!
ROF
easy disassembly
I completely recommend this gun to everyone!
great trigger reaction
good rail system!
tight battery fit but worth it!
cons-
not every mag fits
motor is connected to V 3 gearbox

over all this gun is great!
by CJ A. on 01/26/2014
"Well what can I say, this gun is great. I have owned this gun for over 2 years now and it has worked like a charm since. I don't know what compelled me to write a review now, but here it goes:
PROS:
Nice weight
Lots of rail space (on the upper receiver that is)
Good FPS, I haven't chronoed it but everyone I've got out says it hurt like a SOB
Very accurate

Things that aren't Pros or Cons:
Mediocre RoF
Very tight battery compartment
Slight barrel wobble, but fixable

CONS:
I've heard that the mag release breaks, mine has not, but that can be considered a con
The dust cover on my gun got bent internally, making the bolt catch non functional. It wasn't that hard to fix, but it is a nuisance because it doesn't work the same as it did out of the box.

Overall I HIGHLY recommend this gun for players of ALL skill level (beginners be wary though)

"First off, this fun is very well packaged. Easily the best packaged gun that I have seen or received myself. So no worries about the gun being damaged in the shipping department.
The gun comes with a seventy round p-mag that seems alright. Haven't used it yet, but it seems to be sturdy. The gun also comes packaged with a good manual. The english is good, and it has good pictures with instructions on how the gun works. I did not receive an additional flash hider, battery, or battery charger (I mention the flash hider because the box looks like it has a slot for one, and some people in other reviews have said they did get one).
Now, as for the gun itself. The upper receiver is metal, and the lower is polymer/fiber. That being said, it feels fantastic in the hand. Easily the best feeling airsoft rifle that I have shouldered (I have shouldered everything from an M-4 to an AK). It just feels really good when you're holding it. The fiber/polymer parts (stock, lower receiver, hand guard) are very sturdy. I know some people have ragged on the hand guard for it being flexible, but mine is solid. The gun also has essentially no wobble. The only play I have is the tiniest bit of movement in the hand guard because it is the part you remove for the battery. Plenty of space for the battery as well, just takes some getting used to so that you know where to position the pieces when you slide them back together. Now, how does it shoot? After some minor hop-up adjustment, it was shooting flat at 100 ft pretty easily. I'd expect it to reach out a little further (100 ft is about the limit for my house tests. I haven't fielded the gun yet). Its rate of fire is pretty good too, around 17-19 rps with a 9.6 butterfly. Aside from the p-mag it comes with, it took a kwa mid-cap, a lonex flash mag, and a g&g high cap. The mags also don't just slide into place, you have to put them into place, which is nice because nothing is loose.

PROS:
-good weight (about 6 lbs. Not too heavy or light)
-feels great, solid construction, little wobble (really like the fixed stock).
-good rate of fire and fps (no chrono, but a can test put it 350-400)
-quick change spring system and quick barrel change system makes it easy to change from field to cqb
-takes a variety of mags
-being compatible with other magpul pts parts, it is very easy to customize parts
CONS:
-honestly, couldn't really find anything worth noting. I guess its lack of a definite sling point is one. It essentially requires you to buy a qd sling attachment. There is a small metal point at the front of the stock that you might be able to fit something in, but it is really low profile to the gun.

***as a side note, if you choose to buy the RIS kit for the front of the masada, be aware of the fact that you will probably need a PEQ box for the battery. I looked into it, and only a 7.4 lipo will fit for sure. An 8.4 requires some modding inside the battery area, and there is no chance for a 9.6 inside the RIS.
