Matrix "Flash Mag" Hi-Cap Magazine for AK Series Airsoft AEG (Color: Tan / 500rd)

"These Mags are amazing! I bought two, and the first thing I noticed was that the mags are very realistic looking, they have more of a grey finish and look old. Not shiny black like in this picture. This gives a tarnished look that most AKs go great with. Another realism factor is that they have no winding wheel on the bottom, looking just like a real steel mag once it's in the gun. Another awesome feature is that all you have to do is pull the string a few times and you can empty the whole mag without winding again, rather than the frequent scrolling of standard hi-caps.

Pros:
Amazing finish! (look old and tarnished, unlike the pic. above)
No winding wheel, obviously. Good for props if you make movies.
Easy to use, pull the string a couple times with meaning and you can empty a full mag like a mid-cap.

Cons:
Only one very minor con that doesn't even matter: the capacity is slightly smaller than standard AK hi-caps. But this doesn't even matter because you still have more bbs ready to fire than most aeg rifles.

Overalll, I really recommend this mag. It surpassed my expectations and I have already won many matches using them. By a few, you'll really be surprised by how these mags perform.

"I ordered this about a week ago and its freaking amazing. when i first got it it would click into my gun so i had to file down some of the magazine to get it to fit but once it did it worked like a charm. six pulls and i can empty the full mag without rewinding.

"One of my mags came defective. One of the teeth on the feed gear inside the mag had its tip broken off, making at slightly too short. Every time that tooth would try to feed a BB into the magazine tube, it would jam. Fix was easy, but kind of a PITA. I had to disassemble the magazine and file that tooth off. It took some time to figure out exactly how to reassemble it easily.

These mags also bo not fit LCT AK's perfectly out of the box. The locking lug seats the magazine too far back to feed reliably. The magazine catch lip is also too thin, and needs material afixed to it to be at the right hight. I had to file off about a mm or two from the front lug, and glue about 1mm of material to the catch lip.

After my fixes and modifications, both mags work and fit perfectly in my LCT. Solid magazine's overall for 10$.

"Didnt work on my old ak-47 but it works on my friends gun so i just gave it to him. Its a very high-quality magazine that will not break easily. The cable is extremely sturdy as its a type of very strong metal. The only problem i found was when i wasnt really paying attention i would occasionally close the tip of the cable in the hatch that hides the steel cable. It didnt cause any damage to the cable or the hatch but it was kind of annoying. Overall a very good mag, but didnt fit my gun (but it works excellent on most ak-47s)

"Cybergun/Cyma AK47 60th Anniversary: Difficult to load in the mag well. The lip is plastic and wiggles. Does not fully seat into the mag well so it doesn't load. You have to use the magazine as a foregrip and pull it back for it to feed BB's. Works well when you do this.

"I like the easy fire superiority as I don't have to constantly wind or swap out my mags (I usually play more of a support role for my squad as we don't have a SAW). It is affordable ($12 as of 07/26/2014). Overall this was a nice addition to my JG AK47 C.P.W., but it has a few drawbacks. It will fit most AKs but will not properly fit into my Kalash KLS Series RK74C-Y (AK-47). It holds 80 rounds less than advertised, (520 VS 600), I don't know how much that matters to you but imo an extra 80 BBs can be significant. The package indicates that one must only pull the pull cord 5 times. However I have noticed that through out the game, especially with high ROF AKs, that it is necessary to pull the cord two or three more times to keep the mag feeding. It is also prone to unwinding itself while you are running or shaking the gun. So for a flash mag I give it 3 Stars, If you have the $$ you should go with a Lonex flash mag as they are a much better. For a Mag overall I give it 4 stars as it is definitely an upgrade from a standard high cap.

"I bought these mags over a week ago. I've went through around 2000 bbs with just them, with very few minor problems. no regrets.

PROS:
1:FEEDING: my redstar 74 shoots around 20/sec and these keep up no problem.
2:FIT: really snug, almost too much but its nothing to complain about
3:CONSTRUCTION: metal, nuff said.
4: WINDING TIME: 2-3 pulls and your'e set for about half the mag. any more than that I'd think would damage the mag

CONS:
1: the price... tis a little steep
2: string/wire/winder/the thing that you pull: it doesn't retract all the way in all the time.
3: the mags get tarnished looking. again not much to complain about just so ya know.

"This magazine unfortunately didn't fit in my GF76 so I had to cut down on it a bit, and that really lowered it for me. It also doesn't use a gear feeding system which is annoying as well. But overall it's an average AK mag.

"The quality of this Matrix metal mag is nice. it feels/appears to be sturdy like it can take many falls. the pull cord feels good and when it is at its max, it makes a 'clicking noise' thats a different tone than the first few pulls so you know you are ready to fire and fully wound-up, the bottom cover for the pull string is also metal!

I only gave it 3 stars because i got this for my CYMA Sport AK CM521c and it does not load BB's properly after the first shot. It loads the first one into the chamber no problem, you can head the audible sound when inserting the clip but after the first shot, BB's will not load into the chamber. I tried 3 different types of BB's; Bio .25g, regular .20g & reg .12BB's from my mini mp5, all 6mm of course with no luck :(

Compared to the CYMA plastic flash mag (520 rd), the matrix is much better quality BUT does not fit into my AEG perfectly like the CYMA plastic flash mag. The Matrix is a tight fit and must be inserted at a high/steep angle. If you have a vertical tactical grip, it cannot be too close to the clip otherwise you cannot load/unload it. I had to move mind back an inch or so.

I'm sure it works amazingly on other platforms but for my specific unit, CYMA CM521c, i had issues. 3/5 stars only since its advertised as being compatible with CYMA AK AEG's.....

"Long story short, the part attatched to the end if the string broke off almost immediately. I ended up tying the string to a washer and now its functioning again.

Pros:
Metal construction
No wheel.
Holds many bbs
Feeds flawlessly.

Cons:
String and pull tab connection is very weak.
Will be a matter of time until those parts break.

"I know better than to buy a product with no reviews, but I went ahead and did it anyways. The trapdoor on the bottom is hard to open (not a bad thing necessarily), the trapdoor for loading bb's is very stiff, the "flash" mechanism seems to be working pretty well, I did have a small metal piece that looked like half of a coin fall out of the bottom while winding but it didn't seem to affect anything so far, and you have to wind it until it clicks about 3 separate times to fully empty the mag. The mag fits very well in my cyma ak-74 with no wobble. I will be taking it to a 12 hour game in 3 days to see how it does.

"It's OK. Just OK.

Pros:

The metal is mediocre at best.

The bottom hatch probably won't break on you for a while.

Cons:

This is a pretty big one. The back of the magazine has a giant line running down it that interferes with the AK's mag release, making the release lever stick out.
