"good gun mine came with the 500 spring and is pretty impressive as far as stock range one thing i cant find or figure out is. what the threads are for a silencer adapter is it the -14mm like most others?

"Is there any diffrence between this one and this one(http://www.evike.com/products/53947/) other than this shoots at 500 fps?

"Extremely well built weapon both internally and externally. This gun is great!

All my teammates that used it loved it. I use the Matrix 0.25g bb with it.

I also bought the 500 FPS spring for this rifle and it is easy to install and now the accuracy and range is insane. (I use Matrix 0.32 bio with this spring)

PROS: gun looks real and feels good, shoots hard right out of the box can hit someone in the head form about a 100 ft easy (when its not windy).

All and all buy it and dont think twice about it....

"I want to start off by saying This rifle is really high-quality It doesn't feel like it's going to break anytime soon but I have one little problem with it where the hop up is located I cannot find it, but despite of not being able to find the hop up I can hit a Human sized target at 250+ feet With 32g elite force BBs The rifle is completely stock if you're wondering about the range but maybe after I put about 300 shots through it it might drop in range, hope this review helps you out

"So, this was my first Airsoft Sniper Rifle. Right out of the box it shoots solid. The bolt is a little tough to pull at first but it gets easier as you work it.
Pro: Shoots 500 fps with .20 out of the box
Accurate with 3x9 scope at about 230 feet.
Adjustable stock and cheek rest.

Cons: Moderately heavy
PDI hop-up is finnicky and the slightest turn causes wild results.
3/10 of my shots tend to curve left for some odd reason, but could just be me.
Not compatible with VSR-10 Parts.

So, I wanted to upgrade this rifle, I bought several VSR-10 compatible parts since it says it is, including a inner barrel, bucking, hop-up, and heavier spring. It wasn't compatible with any of it. So be careful, its possible I just bought the wrong size parts but I don't think so. Other than that, its a solid rifle, especially to start with.

"This is a great beginner sniper I’ve had it for about 3 weeks now man this thing shoots great out of the box. But I didn’t get the 500fps version because it was out of stock but overall good gun the only bad thing I could see is that there is not a lot of upgrade parts that would fit this thing. You should be able to fit vsr10 spring guides pistons and springs

"I really like the gun a lot, I just don’t like how to magazine loads. Its very difficult to load BBs into the mag but besides that the gun is really cool.

"Got this a few days ago, first impressions the gun is fairly heavy but not really a bad issue. I am writing this review because ALL of the screws on the gun were finger tight when the gun arrived. I tore it down and tightened everything and I saw the quality control sticker and almost laughed. I did a fair amount of research before I purchased this gun and was disappointed this gun wiggled and rattled as much as it did out of the box. The gun shoots far and hard but have not been able to chrono the 500 fps version yet. For those asking the hop up adjustment screws are where the nozzle slides into battery. The main barrel comes with an orange ring on the barrel and is not threaded for a suppressor of muzzle break. The barrel and action are attached to the rifle body with two screws in front of and behind the trigger. The rail for the scope was also scary loose. It is worth mentioning the the magazine snaps into the mag well with a very small "foot" at the front of the mag.

The cheek riser is adjusted by four thumb screws and is easy to adjust. The rifle butt spacers slide out for adjustment.

I really like the rifle and as soon as I get it sighted and chrono'd I'll make a more complete review but for now I'll give the rifle 4/5 stars only because the gun was so poorly put together.

"In-depth Review:
First off, I would say that the description is a little misleading for this gun. It may be designed in Japan, but it's made in China which means cutting corners to reduce the cost to make the rifle. It is actually the same exact rifle as the CYMA M40a3 (only available from Asian sellers) and that one doesn't mention anything about PDI engineering. Nothing in this rifle is PDI. It's not worth the retail price of $240. The upgrades do not total more than $150 as the description says; maybe $50 for the metal trigger box.

Pros:
-PDI STYLE hop-up. It has two hop arms so you can adjust it left or right. Descent quality however the pressure on the arms is created by an O-ring.
-Metal trigger box and steel 90 degree sear.
-More upgradeable than ASG M40a3

Cons:
-Cheap plastic spring guide and piston
-Super cheap magazines, but they do feed.
-Kind of heavy (personal preference)
-Small bolt handle (personal preference)

Upgrading:
-Hop up unit is proprietary unless you want to replace it with an actual PDI hop up unit
-Takes AEG barrels (only 455mm b/c the inner barrel goes all the way to the end cap)
-Cylinder is proprietary, but is steel
-Cylinder head appears to be a Snow Wolf M24 (NOT VSR)
-Piston and spring guide for Mb02/Mb03 fit inside the cylinder however the BAR10 set was too wide. The VSR spring did not fit however.
-Proprietary magazines, but take the same ones as the CYMA M40a3. Evike is the only US seller that has these magazines. Rest are in Asia.
-The butt pads and cheek rest do appear to be the same as ASG M40a3, so if you ever break them, you could check ASG.

It's a relatively new style gun so maybe in the coming years more companies like Well and JG will make clones. After that, maybe companies like Action Army, PDI, and Laylax will start making specific upgrades.

Overall, it's a little pricey, but it is the most upgradeable M40a3 platform on the market unless you get the M40a3 conversion kit for the VSR-10 or the Novritsch SSG24. It's a good stock gun if you don't plan on upgrading or a decent base if you do. Four stars.

"So far, I am very impressed with this rifle. Internals are decent, externals are decent, and the price point is excellent for what you are getting out of the box. Also, the magazines feel well-made and worth picking up a few extra.

A few things to note:

=_ The gun does NOT come with a 500 FPS spring, but you can buy that separately here on Evike.com
=_ The PDI-esque hop-up chamber in my rifle did not come with a nub, so I had to add one from a different rifle I had. It uses AEG stule buckings and nubs.

Aside from these issues, this is a great out-of-the box gun or starter platform. It is *MOSTLY* VSR-10 compatible.

"Already got my hands on one, and I got to say that its by far pretty neat. When I got mine, the frame was pretty texturized at the grip and at the front end, should be bumpy like a rock. The barrel itself is full metal and the one I got had a front end rails system for lights and lasers. on the gun there will be a scope rail already mounted on it. The butt of the gun is a little bit big in my opinion but the texture of the rubber is fairly decent. you can remove a few plates and size it to your comfortability. It has an adjustable cheek riser to set you up with the perfect line of sight. The weight is as you would think it is with a full metal barrel, so its actually going to be a little bit heavier. Fire/safety switch located behind the bolt. Smooth bolt pull and it is gas operated. Magazine should hold at lease 30 + 1 in the chamber.

"Not a Bad deal, Although I'm not sure the "upgraded internals" are worth $175. A bit disappointed out of the box, albeit you get what you pay for. I ordered an AA 170 spring from Airsoft GI, which brought the FPS up to around 600 FPS ( yes, this rifle is compatible with some VSR10 parts, don't let evike tell you otherwise). I think that it would be a better deal if it came with an upgraded piston and follower. alas, what can you do, evikes in it to make money.

Pretty much looks like my old service rifle, but not as beat up. Good for a mid-2000's Marine scout/sniper impression (Just make sure you have a good stalking suit to go with it).

Would recommend if you're looking for a cheap platform to upgrade. or you're just playing with some friends in your backyard. Its just as good as any other high dollar sniper rifle, but half the cost. I just wish they made an M40A5 model.

"this gun is not very accurate. at 50 yards i have to aim to the left of my target and at 25 yards I have to aim to the right. the hop up is not very consistent so I will randomly have a bb drop when I shoot it. my 120$ aeg is more accurate than this gun. I took the gun apart and it had so much gunk on the inside. I wiped it down and replaced the spring with a 500 fps spring. the ho up is very annoying. I have put hundreds of rounds through this gun and played many games with it. the barrel doesn't fit the chassis which is only a minor problem.

pros
heavy
comfortable to use

cons
inaccurate
hop up
pricy

all in all the gun is not worth its price tag.
