ARES Airsoft Complete E.F.C.S Gearbox Set for ARES/Amoeba Series Airsoft AEGs (Model: Mid-Rear Wired)

"Best drop in gear box on the market for the money. PERIOD.

We have 3 Ares AEGs from stock to moderately upgraded and they all perform at a very high level. They outperform most of the much more expensive guns on the field. I also have a VFC Mk18 and my Ares AM-009 shoots much better with no upgrades. The trigger response has spoiled me.

So.... I decided to use this gearbox on a custom DMR/SPR build. Built a MK12 Style rifle with this gearbox inside. One word. AWESOME!!!! Using a 363mm Mad Bull black python barrel I get about 420fps (.25gr bbs) with no other upgrades.

This is also a quick spring change gearbox which is great for upgrading to even higher FPS, but you will want to upgrade to a high torque motor if you get into the 450fps range of spring for sure.

"I just got this in , OMG chronoed at 402 fps with .2 and 23.bbps. Very fast trigger response, The only down side is I had to tweak my fire selector in order to get it to fit and work. Once that was done this thing will DOMINATE and can't wait to put it to use. A little pricey in Canada but if you want to win you have to get the best , It comes at a cost. 5 out of 5.

"It's a great gearbox, but I just have a few problems. One the gearbox is over greased, not just the normal amount, I MEAN A TON. Just wipe the grease once you get it out of the cylinder. Another problem was the low power with the stock spring so I just install a slightly more powerful as to not over torque the gears. Then the last thing was that it isn't completely universal for all gearboxes, when installing I had to grind down the selector switch so that when selecting the safety it doesn't jam up. Also the top notch found on most king arms gearboxes that stops the bolt is not there. Just pull out the spring so you don't stretch it and it makes adjusting the hopup a breeze. But after you've changed all of this it is an AMAZING gearbox, absolutely great. It has a full stainless steel cylinder, a full rack of steel teeth, and a capacitor so that your gun never half cycles. Also the trigger is much more sensitive and on semi you don't need to release it all the way to fire again. Also if you don't have a high torque motor then you should get a lonex or evike motor. Also take a look at a lipo so you're able to utilize the ultimate trigger response and fire rate. Lastly this gun is easily capable of auto cocking by changing the location of the sector gear magnet. You will then achieve the worlds best trigger response for only about $150 if you get the motor and lipo with it. Otherwise it's a deal you can't beat!

"got this in my emg hellbreaker. this thing is amazing. the quality for the price is unbeatable. main thing im impressed about is the piston and piston head. piston is polycarb and all teeth are metal strips. good for high speed setups. and the piston head is ported ie it has those holes in the front that give the o-ring better airseal. one thing to get is a cylnder because the one it comes with is unported. gears seem high quality and after about 3 days of playing no wear on a 11.1lipo and a lonex a1 titan. buy it, no regrets

"Dropped this in an old D-boys SCAR body and while it worked pretty well I do have some notes. Specifically, the SCAR selector plate doesn't match the one that comes on the box so you'll have to make your own. The bigger issue though was the piston and cylinder as there was little to no seal. I could blow through the nozzle with the piston inside the cylinder and steadily leaked air. Simple fix but just something to keep in mind. Great box otherwise.

"TRANSLATE FROM SPANISH - IMPORTANT STUFF HERE

INSTALLED ON A Lancer Tactical Gen 2.

PROBLEMS:

I had problems installing it for the following reasons:

1. To install a "Buffer Tube" you only need to remove the screw that goes behind ... BUT ... as it has the easy spring release system, is very sensitive and the screw may go in and release the whole mechanism so be careful.

2. The "Magazine Release Button" does not fit well with the "Lower Receiver", so it is necessary adapt the hole so that it fits properly.

3. I can not make it shoot in "Full Auto" ... I still can not find the way to make it work.

4. The connections that go in the "Motor" are very poor quality. They come straight and it is necessary to fold them so they fit in the "Pistol Grip" DO IT CAREFULLY!

5. I had to remove the spring that goes in the "Inner Barrel" to the "Hop Up", because, the "Nozzle" left little room for the BBs and did not allow them to feed well.

PROS:

1. I tested it with a LiPo 7.4v 20c battery and the response of the trigger is immediate and precise.

2. I will need more test before i post more Pros.


CONCLUSION:

RECOMMENDED BUT BE ADVISED YOU WILL PROBABLY NEED TO DO SOME MODIFICATIONS...

"I like this gearbox. Its some good stuff, but was a tight fit in my APEX Tactics Delta. It preforms very well though.

"To clear things up this gear box fit perfectleh into my a&k m4 cqb-r (tm clone) and it works wonderfully the build feels stong and stable ( my favorite thing is the trigger it feels like clicking a mouse)
This would get 5 stars but it comes with a plasitc spring guide that feels a but flimsy

"Pros:
Very good trigger response (paired with a Matrix Magnum Motor)
QD spring easy for disassembly
Nice full metal tooth stock piston
The anti-reversal latch isn't a pain to deal with, holds in nicely
adjustable trigger pull
Great all around gearbox


Cons:
Gears are a little weak
The air nozzle has no o-ring
single o-ring cylinder head (no big deal is you're not worried about perfect air seal)
Weak stock spring (recommend putting in a m120 - m130 spring for 350-370 fps with .25g bbs)
Connectors to the motor broke on the negative wire (easy fix if you know how to solder)
almost never in stock

The only major problem I've had with the gearbox is the where the bevel gear and the spur gear meet is where a couple teeth got stripped. This is only because I was using an 11.1v LiPo battery. I'd recommend just a 7.4 LiPo if you're going to upgrade the motor to a Matrix Magnum. None the less this gearbox is great and easy to work on, I've pulled it apart a few times and never had problems putting it back together.

"Great gearbox overall. Runs very quiet and has great trigger response w/ a 9.6v. The only downside is that due to the magnet placement on your sector gear you can only run the ares gears in this gear box. I tried to put in some 16:1 SHS gears and the gun would fire a 4 round burst in semi auto for 5 trigger pulls and then stop working. Im no expert airsoft tech so i cannot tell you if this is for sure what is wrong I put the stock gears back in and reshimmed and it works great.

"This gearbox had a screw that had fallen into the gears and locked the action up. The gears were perfectly fine and had no damage. After I fixed the problem with the screw the gearbox worked flawlessly. Works great with 11.1v and the electronic trigger works amazingly.

"Meh, the quality is nice the trigger response is good but the gears and piston teeth are fragile broke first use. The red motor wire snapped at the connection. If your looking for a good gearbox this is the one but be cautious
