"This is the most affordable full metal DL-44 style replica on the market. I have several denix based DL-44's and I much prefer this one. Use red glow in the dark bb's for realistic blaster bolts at your next halloween match.

"I would give this gun 5-star rating, but it is just a normal Mauser with some addons which makes it coast way more than it should

"Love the weight and design.

The grip pads don't seem to be mounted that well and have some play when gripping it.
Mine came damaged on arrival scraped up and the mount cracked pretty bad.
Good collector piece for sure.

"It's solid, reliable, and it looks great. It's the ideal go-to weapon if you're a smuggler or scoundrel and need to shoot first. I only give four stars though because mine shipped with a missing piece.

"Very nice gun. However, if you are looking to reload fast with the scope on, bare in mind the scope mount really gets in the way. I'm sure with some dremeling you can remove some metal from the scope mount rail to expose more of the mag release because as of now, trying it drop the mag with your shooting hand (I shoot with my right hand) is nearly impossible to do under pressure. However, it is easier to trip the mag release when you use your mag loading (left) hand.

Pros:
Very nice weight, feel, select fire,Descent ROF, CQB friendly, uses WE M712 mags and Its a working DL-44 Replica for all the Star Wars fans out there.

Cons:
Mag release with scope mount is annoying, field stripping is like trying to shuck an oyster, Part replacements might be a problem ( I assume you can use WE M712 parts in this) and sometimes with the Tiny mag it comes with, for some weird reason, it was shooting in 2 round burst when it was set for semi auto. with the regular M712 mags, this doesn't happen.

I will post an update in probably May on how long it will last and if I've had any further problems.

"In short: an awesome piece for completing a costume or just showing off, but practically speaking remove the scope or get a normal C96 for actual airsoft use. Also a very small amount of modding to get the flash hider to fit correctly.

First upon unboxing is that the parts are wrapped in bubble wrap in separate sections which is a nice touch. The airsoft gun itself has a very smooth and nice black finish to it which I very much enjoy. How durable the finish is will be seen in the future but it feels solid. Immediately obvious after that is the lack of any front iron sight, it still has the rear notch and it does go over the large add on flash hider so you can kinda use it (just no front post to line up to). I don't see it as an issue per se, as it has the scope right? Attaching the scope is simple, no physical manual is present and the link on the card that is given in the package as of this writing (5/10/2016) only says "coming soon". Incase someone needs help it is very simply, there are 4 washer shaped nuts (don't know the technical name if they have one), the first two will screw in with the bolts into the two holes on the right side of the frame. After you just add the scope on to the bolts, remove a middle washer shaped screw and then line up and tighten a bishop headed screw into a smaller whole above the trigger, which was something I missed at first. Then add the last two round nuts and tighten.

Back to the scope, adding it on looks cool, but I find its practical value for airsoft dubious. Mainly because it has elevation adjustment but no windage/side to side adjustment, I haven't tested it enough to see if they zeroed it at any particular part but if it isn't then using it would be hard. it has decent eye relief, and the picture is pretty good, a little small and a bit blurred at the periphery but it does work at about arms length as well as closer if desired.

Most importantly, however, is the fact that the scope rail covers about 30ish percent of the mag release button! I can still operate it bare handed, but, but it makes a mag change much more annoying, let alone if wearing thick gloves. The best method I have for using the mag with the scope is to lay my finger parallel to the scope mount and completely rigid, then moving the entire finger into the button rather than bending it if that makes sense. To be honest I would personally take the scope off if I ever use it for a serious match, because otherwise the mag release is smooth as well as insertion, and the other functions of firing work perfectly the few times I've taken it out. I can't compare it to the other C96s because I don't own any of the others, but it seems like it would hold its own when you take the scope off (though you will lose a few style points it has over the others haha). Speaking of which when properly on my scope has zero wobble and feels very sturdy, I'm not about to beat a wampa to death with it but I have no worries of it falling off anytime soon while it is on.

I should preface the last bit by saying this mauser is a very good replica for certain DL-44s. That might make you pause, but if you compare the DL-44 Han has used in the various movies there are a few different versions. I'm no expert in the matter so you might want to research the subject if you are interested in an accurate replica to a particular movie. It appears to be an extremely close replica of the battlefront DL-44 (albeit not exact), which may be the same DL-44 in other movies but I haven't checked every single part and movie as of right now.

The flash hider continues this trend of the battlefront type, being attached by a screw to the barrel. However there is a problem in attaching the flash hider. In the picture of the gun there is no orange tip, and it appears somewhere along the line the producers thought: " oh *&%#, we need one for regulation." and proceeded to jam an orange plastic tip onto the base metal barrel. The problem is that this extends the length of the barrel, and the orange tip is slightly smaller in diameter than the base metal barrel. This means that when you try putting the flash hider on as is, you notice that the sleeve of the flash hider does not cover all of the extended barrel, leaving a gap. Furthermore upon tightening the screw it will most likely just slide off; it can catch the very edge of the metal barrel if you push down but since the orange plastic is smaller it can not engage the orange tip and just slips off. It is an easy fix for the user but seems like a large oversight that could have been easily fixed at the producer's end. Given the online link to the manual is not up currently (that should hopefully change) means I am not sure if the orange tip is easily removed so you can have the orange tip on when not using the flash hider while still actually be able to use the DL-44 flash hider.

Despite that little flaw, as an airsoft gun it functions very well for me, and more importantly is an awesome piece that looks good and also can compliment any number of star wars related outfits. I personally don't plan on shooting it all that much- a normal c96 would be objectively better for pure combat use- and hence less focus on exact performance specifications but hopefully this helps get a good general feel for anyone looking at it.

"First off, I love the look and feel of this gun. I don’t care that it’s not 100% screen accurate, I just wanted something that looks the part and didn’t feel cheaply made. This checks those boxes.

Now the bad. When my order arrived it was missing the flash hider / muzzle piece. Evike shipped out the part separately, but still a bummer. After a week and maybe 5-10 uses in the backyard, the full auto stopped functioning. Then, when the flash hider/muzzle arrived, after firing off a few rounds, the flash hider / muzzle fell off. Not only that, but part of the Mauser’s outer barrel went with it, leaving the inner brass tubing exposed. I reattached the parts and retightened the flash hider / muzzle piece. After firing several more rounds, it fell off again.

I would return it, but I’ve weathered the whole thing so I doubt very much Evike would accept it. I’m mostly using this as a toy / display piece so it’s not a huge issue. However, this isn’t a small amount of money to part with on a product that doesn’t function as promised.

Maybe I simply got a lemon.

"I love this gun. Looks awesome, feels awesome, fun to shoot! Unfortunately though, eight shots into my first Airsoft game with it, a piece that connects the trigger group to the hammer cane flying out the back in a few pieces. I went online and emailed them once every couple weeks and to the website that was given on the box and this gun doesn’t show up at all. In fact, it says the page is missing. So I couldn’t eat it repaired, and I never received any emails back. I love everything else about this gun, but I have no clue as to what I should do to get it repaired. If anyone has any ideas, let me know! Thanks!

"The gun feels and sounds great but both magazines I purchased with it leaked and the o-rings were destroyed. The threading for the scope mount were also the wrong size and wouldn’t screw into place without nearly stripping them.
