"Very comfortable rifle. I've been wanting to get a spring rifle for a while now and couldn't decide between an M24, VSR10, and AW. Then I saw this beauty on an Asian site and thought 'I wonder if Evike will ever get this. They, of course, didn't reply to that email. But I was stoked when I saw this come in and then how not long after it was on sale too! Pure awesomesauce.

The box it arrived in was rather battered, and the gun package box had a hole in it with the bolt handle sticking out of it. My first thought was, of course, "Oh, bleepity-bleep." But the rifle was fine. One bb bottle didn't make it, though.

The bolt is very stiff and hard to draw, but I'm hoping a little oil and a few pulls will help smooth that out. The orange tip was easy to get off after a few minutes soak in hot water as well (The rifle comes with its own flush bit to screw on the end if you're like me and didn't buy a flash hider).

Only complaint is that the stock is really, really low. You put your cheek on it and you can't even see the top of the rail. Luckily, it is really easy to replace with a riser (which i really recommend getting) using the hex wrenches HIDDEN IN THE GRIP OF THE RIFLE (but that's a secret, so shush).

Anywho, I highly recommend picking up this solid and aggressive-looking rifle while it is still on sale. Toodles~

"Been super excited about this rifle since I saw video of it at SHOT show last year so I bought it as soon as Evike had it in stock. They even put it on sale for $119.00 which saved me $50. You ROCK EVIKE!!!! Thanks.

Did a lot of research on the Striker before buying and heard all the concerns about small cylinder volume and long barrel length being a bad design causing joule creep (lost energy) so I was a little concerned, but every Ares product we have bought has been great so I took the chance and spent the money.

Gun looks awesome and the craftsmanship is excellent. The gun is lightweight but very durable. The magazine is very well made and the direct feed system works perfectly. The magazine release is also well thought out and loading on the fly is quick and easy. Bolt action is robust and not too hard to pull back.

The Striker is said to shoot 430fps out of the box but this was not the case with my rifle. It shot 355 to 360fps with .25 gram bbs. Not much of an issue because my intent was to upgrade it anyway, but if you plan on using this as a true sniper rifle out of the box you might be disappointed. Good news though; a tight bore barrel and an upgraded spring are cheap and easy to install.

Data:
I upgraded to a 550mm Angel Custom 6.01 tight bore barrel (Fit perfect) and a M140 spring (took about 10 minutes to change) prior to doing any real testing. For the testing I fired 10 shots with each bb weight and calculated the average.

Results:

.25gr bb - Averaged 391 fps @ 1.78 Joules
.32gr bb - Averaged 351 fps @ 1.83 Joules
.40gr bb - Averaged 311 fps @ 1.80 Joules

What you should see with an optimum cylinder to barrel volume ratio is a decrease in fps but an increase in Joules as you move to a heavier bb. A Joule is simply a measurement of how much energy it takes to move an object. Heavier the bb, the more energy the rifle should make pushing it through the barrel.

As you can see I did get a small bit of Joule creep with the .40gr bb but not much at all. This means that the .40 was losing energy in the barrel before it passed through the chronograph. This indicates that there isn't enough air in the cylinder to push the bb all the way down the barrel but the effect was minimal.

The gun performed best with .32gr bbs and can be effective out to 75 yards or more consistently with a man sized target. I was very happy with the results of the upgrades I made for about $40. Barrel and spring are all I changed.

Probably not a better sniper option than the Striker on the market now for the Money. Tons of modular parts available is also a plus. I will be adding the adjustable stock and cheek rest as soon as I can find one in stock.

Oh yeah.... And it looks amazing! Beautiful gun.

"Beautiful rifle out of the box. Slight adjustment of the hop-up and I was hitting my target in my back yard (~90ft) consistently centered w/40g BB. I also used some .2 which perform very similar.
All pro's no serious con's so far.
Bolt cycles smooth and quick.
Balanced weight and not an issue to carry around all day.
Magazine is kind of hard to load, but I assume it'll break in or I just suck at loading it LOL.
I don't want to talk about disassembly as that was my error, not the gun or manufacturer. I did manage to scuff some internals up (I like to take stuff apart and put it back together) luckily I didn't mess it up beyond use.

Below is the scope I put on this beast.

"Due to an USA distribution change from one vendor to another in Spring 2017, evike.com resulted the only retailer with this product in the USA for a short period of time.

This is not the 2016 model that has been sold around the world for almost a year now by hundred of retailers with no issues and with growing popularity. This 2017 model also is capable of you dropping it from 5 feet (human height) without issue when loaded. (Do practice common sense and empty all Airsoft guns after you leave the goggle enforced region of any gaming field. Never store or leave an Airsoft gun loaded unattended. Wear eye protection at all times where any gun is loaded.)

Now to the review of this rifle: The Striker is a great rifle! ARES did an amazing design job for this sniper rifle to utilize an AEG spring!! Brilliant!

Every detail on the rifle is superb!

"This is very nice sniper rifle. The overall finish reminds me of Magpul, it is light weight, and I love the fact that it uses AEG spring and is super easy to swap out making this sniper rifle a perfect gun for both outdoor and GamePod games!!

"i bought this rifle before it was "officially" available in the U.S. And starting out stock this gun is great, great accuracy, decent FPS for a stock spring. and i enjoy the fact that i am able to put a gas bolt in the rifle. Would absolutely recommend this for someone who is just starting out with sniper rifles.

"This is an awesome sniper rifle with tons of modular accessories, Magpul feel and look, light weight, and is fairly easy to upgrade. Love it!

"Excellent rifle with a solid build. My only issue is in getting the various other parts that I want to upgrade this rifle, such as shorter inner and outer barrels and some of the other stocks.

Out of the box it is totally serviceable and I have no complaints. It has been quite accurate.

My only suggestion is that Evike start bringing in the remainder of the parts available to truly customize the rifle to your taste.

It gets 4 stars today but when I can adequately set up this rifle as I want, it will get a very solid 5!

"First of all I love this gun! Out of the box I love the FPS of a not too painful 420 FPS and I love the range. I was poppin people from all the way across our neighborhood street with this gun at which was the point that it started to downpour and still kept a tight grouping even in the rain. There are only a few thing I don’t like though. First I do not recommend for kids that are under 12 because it seemed very long and bulky to me who is a older kid. Also, you should definitely purchase a scope the day of ordering the gun because without it there is no other way of sighting just point the gun where you think the person is and fire. Lastly the magazine was slightly hard to load by yourself and could take up to two min. But other than those cons it is a very good gun.

"I have yet to actually take this gun out to a field and use it in a match, however from just screwing around with it I can say that this is an amazing weapon. It has a sturdy build, reliable internals, and an is easily customization. My person rifle actually has an FPS of 433, rather than the advertised 400. So when you purchase this rifle, expect it to be putting BBs out hotter than the advertisement. Now, that said, when using heavier BBs, the FPS drops rather dramatically, so keep that in mind when making your purchase.

Also, if you are left handed (like myself) you may have a few difficulties cocking the short stroke bolt, but there are very few left handed bolt actions in existence in the Airsoft industry, so that is just a personal bias so you can ignore this.

Over all this is a very good starter weapon. I highly recommend it to anyone who wanted to get into airsoft sniping. You can get quick and accurate follow up shots and swap out parts to make the FPS match whatever field rules you are going to play with.

"Well this gun is fun to shoot at targets, but out of the box is not good for a game. The gun also came with a messed up trigger pull that I had to take the whole gun apart for to just fix, and this continuously happened. Maximum accurate range maybe 45 yards with .3's. If you're going to buy the gun, get a 500 fps spring for it. Anything too powerful is impossible to pull back.

"Now I just got this today and forgive me but the gun is good and all but the bolt is kinda hard to push forward, which is the only con for me, the pros well in my opinion, accurate, light, good mag and a perfect feel and very sturdy, meaning not so wobbly! Again please forgive me, it's my first review! :(

"I had recently purchased this rifle simply to modify and customize to create a custom outer casing for it, this was mostly due to how easily it can be taken apart and reassembled with only a handful of screws and bolts. After shooting a few targets and lining up my scope, I finally decided to take it out to a field. The field I played only allowed 400fps on rifles, which is lacking for bolt actions as almost every AEG out there could out perform, but being one of the few with a bolt action and with one looking as good as this particular rifle, I drew a few eyes. Some good and some bad. A lot of folks questioned the reliability of the rifle, with which I simply responded with "gotta be quick with the bolt." -- now keep that part in mind, as I'll explain below soon.
Once I got onto the field with this, I played my usual hit and run than my usual "sit down, wait for targets." with plenty of corners, I've had to be quick on the draw, the rifle is light, making it easy to raise and lower as needed. I doubt I'd even need a sling for this for the weight was absolutely perfect to drop into one hand and use my free hand to grab my sidearm.
The rifle does need some work though, not for performance, but just to better to fit my comfort. The various bolts can change for that, the standard one it came with is a little odd when it sits against my palm or under my thumb when I reset it into place, but this where my comment comes in. It is still fairly new, so the bolt is stiff, but not so much to degrade its performance. I have had an issue, which I realized if from the bolt handle itself, you have to slam it against the rifle if you don't rack it forward all the way, a fraction of an inch can get it stuck, as the base of the bolt gets caught on a very fine edge. After buying a new bolt, it sets in just fine. Though I'm not sure if it was just my rifle that has had that issue.

All in all, the rifle is really light, perfect if you're always moving, very sturdy for its material, and easy to maintain and manipulate due to the simplicity of its construction. The only issue I had with it was the stock bolt caused me issues when setting it into place for another shot.

"I have had this rifle for about a month now and as far has the external quality goes I am impressed. However, the performance is quite lacking out of the box and had somewhat poor range. I ended up cutting the inner barrel and outer barrel down to about 330mm and putting an m170 aeg spring in it. Now the rifle performs perfectly with more than adequate range and power

"Just ordered the gun but airsoft gi just released a post on Instagram saying the strikers have an issue with firing while the safety is on whithout pulling the trigger. Sounds like a good gun if you like short bolt pull snipers but please be careful
