AW Custom HX24 "Wind Velocity" IPSC Gas Blowback Airsoft Pistol (Color: Black / Semi / Starter's Package)

"Hi there,

So I finally took delivery of my brand new AW Custom HX24 "Wind Velocity". Being in South Africa we need to do a special order for this type of pistol as they aren't available locally.

Wow, wow, wow, wow is all about I can say for seeing this pistol on the flesh. Pics don't do this pistol any justice, as it looks 150% more sexy in real life.

This Pistol and its design suited me like a Duck to water. Having Extra Large hands it really feels like it was Custom built for me. The frame is closer to a real 1911 than a tactical frame such as my previous KJ Worx KP06.......so its very nimble and easy to handle.

If you think this rifle is looks alone you are in for a HUGE surprise as this is the best pistol I have ever owned. It's dead accurate out the box and mine shoots a constant 349fp/s........ Gas usage is also extremely favorable with one only needing one refill after three mags of BB's

If you are in two mind if this pistol is worth the premium price please don't worry...........It's AMPLE rifle for your money and this thing will out-shoot 99% of other pistols on the range and most AEG's for that matter.

Next up I need to order AW Custom mags as my WE mags aren't quite on the same standard as the AW Custom ones

"great gun, i have shot a few hundred shots through it with no issue, i see a lot of people complain about the rear sight being loose, mine had no such issue, the mags didnt come leaky and the 3 50rd mags i bought arent leaky either. the action is great, the gun is loud, its accurate, feels great in my hands and looks great. the ONLY issue ive had with it is the slide catch has a TINY bit too much play so that sometimes the slide lock follower on the bb will not cause the slide catch to raise and lock the slide. that can be fixed by just making sure the slide catch is flush with the gun before loading a magazine in. 4/5 stars only because i have not shot more than a few hundred shots through it, all gas guns need sears replaced eventually

"Got one of these in a trade recently and other than the lack of maintenance issues, the only glaring problem is the misdirection that the compensator is a ”single unit” with the outer barrel, came off while I was firing it, wouldn't want to lose this in the field so may have to glue that sucker on. But the biggest atrocity comes from the fact that part of the compensator is wider than the rest of the slide which makes it incompatible with just about every hardshell holster for 2011 hi capa pistols. Now I don't get a new most everything on the top part to make this gun as efficient as is jests. Looks great but I have to break this one down and maintain or replace parts that the previous owner was too careless the do himself.

"I'm a competitive shooter, and with this beast I can shoot everyday in the back yard. It has ran flawlessly! The only complaint is that tapped portion of the frame is plastic or really soft metal. The screws backed out while shooting and took the threads with them. I fixed it by threading in a bit larger set of screws that I had laying around for my real open gun. I would guess it would be too hot to shoot speed soft or the other games where your target is human. The accuracy is very good once you poor some hop to it. It's loud enough to be picked up by my shot timer. The recoil is pretty decent, and the cyclid rate is very quick out of the box. It'll double tap .11 if you have the finger. I would highly recomend the gun, but recomend a rail style optics mount. Very Very happy with the gun after 2000 rounds.

"The AW Custom HX24 is the best airsoft pistol I have ever bought.

Pros:
-The thing around the mag well is like a funnel which makes it so the mag slides right it quickly and easily
-The amount of safety on this gun is very high, it has a grip safety that has to be pushed in to shoot, so it doesn't go off while in storage. The grip safety might seem a little inconvenient at first, but it makes the gun more safe and more comfortable. Also, the safety on this gun is ambidextrous, which is quite useful because I am left handed, so I am able to easily switch the gun on and off of safety.
-The grip on the handle is very nice, because offers a good grip on the gun, and makes it very comfortable to hold.
-The gun is mostly metal, which increases quality and durability by a lot, considering that there are many airsoft guns that are plastic.
-There is a rail below that barrel that is very helpful, because you can attach a laser or a flashlight on it. I added a flashlight that I got from Amazon, and it improves the quality and usefulness of the gun in low-light games immensely.

Cons:
-The magazine that comes with the gun leaks, but that can be fixed by just buying a new mag for around 30 dollars.
-The barrel is a little bit wobbly, which decreases accuracy and is a little annoying while running or doing anything else that shakes the gun.
-The gas consumption on this gun isn't that great, but that might just be because of my leaky mag, because I haven't ordered a new mag yet. Also, the gas I bought might have been a little bit bad.
-The FPS on this gun is higher than it says, it said exactly the maximum for my field, but it was about 30 FPS higher, so that wasted an hour of my time and 30 bucks to buy a gas regulator. That was probably my fault, I should have come early to check if it was okay.

Overall this gun is a to-buy if you have a decent budget. This pistol is a good base for a good customized pistol. I am glad I bought this and just might like it too.

"Received this beauty yesterday (two tone). The colors/design go so well together. This is a hefty, solid feeling pistol, and it shoots very accurately. Can't wait to take it to the field!

Note: buy extra mags- I bought two extras with mine, and I'm very glad I did. Mag it came with leaks, and I can't get it to stop leaking (only negative I can think of). The other two work Flawlessly.

"This gun is a very nice gun the only issues I've had with it is it does not feed very well with my Tokyo marui magazines. Also the mag it shipped with leaked until I replaced the o ring

"its was great when i first got it. no complaints. but after about a month it wouldn't chamber new rounds and i had to use it like a spring pistol. the slide would got back with every shot but wouldn't load any round and the slide wouldn't lock when the mag was empty either.

"I got this and right out of box it was great except for a huge, unexpected flaw in the rear sight:
TLDR pro and cons:

pros:
elongated inner barrel = most accurate pistol I have
reinforced internal parts = longlasting
cool aeshtetic = its looks badass to me
flared magwell = easy reload
fiberoptic front sight: super accurate and easy view

cons:
rear sight assembly loose and defective (at least for me)... exploded off into pieces.
On black Ipsc HX24: the flat skeletal trigger is uncomfortable (go for curved)


A warning for those who want to or are using CO2 mags (or perhaps this was just a defect on my rear sight that doesnt have to do with gas):

it shot too hot for the ghost ring rear sight assembly to hold up. the thin pin holding the sight part to go up and down loosely came off after first mag shooting and could not be put back in without being shaken off again from the blowback.
the next piece to explode off from the blowback after the second CO2 mag I used to test the gun was the mini plate holding the ghost ring itself that's adjustable side to side, the flathead threaded pin holding it in place, and the spring for the piece to have tension . Unfortunately, the drilled hole affixed slightly offset from the middle of the ghost ring plate wasn't threaded directly in the middle, causing one side to be extremely thin and the breaking point of my rear sight after getting pushed back and forth by the blowback.

This is more so a part defect/issue I believe than an overall gun issue. But still, I must now invest in a better sight, which adds more cost than I would've wanted.

so overall: it's a good gun, but the rear sight broke off completely and now I need to pay more money to get things fixed. If the sight worked, i would give it 5/5.

"ok gun better stock up on valve knocker sears cause its the first thing that breaks got my on the 23rd of june an I had to replace it after 4 days better learn how to disassably the we hi-capa series pistols cause you have to completely take the whole gun apart to replace it or send it back to evike or where ever you bought it I own 12 hi-capa pistols an learned fast that these guns break easy cause all the internals are made of cheap pot metal save youself a lotta time an money anbuy the aip steel disconnect set good luck.!!!!!

"worst airsoft I have ever owned. rear sight fell off and rear part of slide around the sight broke on second magazine fired from it. Sent multiple emails to evike about it and have never heard back. Gun still functions so i put a red dot sight on it. Now after about 1k rounds the mag catch has broke in half and it will not hold a mag in. Time to find something else.
