"Starting with the negatives...
Out of the box the dot would dim to the lowest setting or even disappear sometimes but it fixes with percussive maintenance. The rubber pieces that hold the caps for the battery and windage/elevation are weak and don't spin. I broke the rubber piece for the battery cap the third time I unscrewed it.
Otherwise this thing is awesome. The kill flash is my favorite feature. I giant knob to unscrew from the mount is greatly appreciated. This optic is such a look. After smacking the optic, the dot is very clearly visible in daylight.

"This optic is for the most part a good optic. I have been running it for a few months now in weekly games, and it holds zero very well. I have yet to have to re adjust it. The flash hide is great as well, as I have already taken a few shots to it, and it's held up just fine. My biggest issue with it and the main reason I will be replacing it is the Battery housing. Its garbage. Either the unit I got failed QQ or they just don't check. The threads came pretty bad and the cap did not want to come off without a grinding feeling the first time. I took this as a bad sign but hoped after cleaning up the threads that may have had something on them it would not be an issue going forward. However after every game and pulling the battery out I had to clean the threads from metal shavings. I thought maybe I was cross threading it somehow, but that's never been the case. I have been very careful how I put the cap on since it had issues day one. Sad to say that after doing some work on the gun today and trying to get the battery out it's locked up completely. The cap will no longer come off and the only way I was able to get the battery out was with a rag and some channel locks. (No damage to the cap). When doing this it actually did not get the cap off, but the battery housing is a 2-piece system and it just unscrewed the second part of it. I was able to get the battery out and even tested to make sure it would still work after, and it does. But I am not going to have gear on my rifle that has issues like this. Thus I will be replacing it with a different brand all together sadly.

"So far not so good. I got this red dot on Christmas Eve and went out to use it and sight it in, it worked like a dream. Later I took it out to do some shooting with my friends, when the brightness knob started messing up. I thought it might clear up but just the other day I took it out again and the knob pretty much quit working. I contacted Evike and now I'm just waiting for them to contact me back. I read every one else's 5 star reviews so I got it, but I wish now I would've just bought the Aim micro dot or the other red dot I was looking at.

"After returning the two defective sights I got before, I now have a data sample of four sights. THREE of the four did not work reliably or at all (in two cases). I have one that works and it works well. Adjustments are solid audible clicks, but the rubber retention things are garbage (they don't stay on while turning the caps); I threw those out. Dot appears pretty crisp for a $60 sight. However, a 25% reliability rating is not recommendable. I will be using the third broken sight for the nearby CQB arena because, if a BB does break through the included ARD, I won't be upset about it. Buy NCStar or Vism if you want a cheap optic, not this. Again, cannot recommend.

"Bought two of these at the same time. One works sporadically (but mostly doesn't), the other doesn't work at all. Gave two stars because they appear to be constructed fairly robustly.

"This sight was very unsatisfactory. During games, this repeatedly started dimming down and shutting off, even after I replaced the batteries with brand new ones multiple times. In terms of build quality, it's great. Metal feels very nice, killflash is handy, everything you could want in a sight except for reliable functionality is here. Would be great for an 11B army infantry kit if it worked reliably.

"Gentlemen, unfortunately, sometimes you get what you pay for.
This seemed to be a well-reviewed clone of the Comp M4. I am trying to create a clone-correct airsoft setup of my issued rifle, and did not want to go with some of the Amazon options that look like budget Aimpoint T1s, despite their longer track record. I was unfortunately let down.
This sight doesn’t work. Shortly after tightening the battery cap and turning it on, it will begin flickering. After a couple of minutes, it will stop working entirely. Reseating the battery provides a temporary fix, until you have to repeat the cycle all over again.
It appears that the cheapest option to get a reliable COMPM4 clone is to purchase a Sig Romeo7, for about 4 times the price of this sight. If you want to go cheaper than that, you can purchase one of the better reviewed 30mm cantilever red dots and replace it with a mount that mimics the CompM2. But in any regards, stay away from this sight.
