"Owned this for about a month now (Black Scar L) and have put a few thousand rounds through it. It's a pretty good rifle overall with a couple of quirks to it.

-Construction/materials.

The upper and lower receiver materials are a decent replication of the feel and finish of the real steel rifle. The upper is constructed of cast aluminum alloy that, although weaker than the extruded aluminum real-steel counterpart, is fully capable of withstanding whatever you throw at it within the context of airsoft while still maintaining a decent aesthetic. The lower is a mold injected polymer piece that more closely resembles ABS-type plastic than it does the nylon-reinforced polymer of the real thing. The texture is not bad though, and it is thick enough to deliver a solid feel when held. The stock delivers on this same fit and finish with minimal wobble. There is no "wobble" between the upper and lower per se, although one can induce a slight flex if enough force is applied. The gas adjustment valve doubles as a takedown tool and is loose enough to fall out while in the field, so consider additional measures of securing it.

-Recoil, shooting and general operation fit & feel.

The gun kicks hard and has a satisfying sound and feel to its various actions. Shooting feels snappy, the sound is crisp with an audible pop. Wracking the bold produces a very metallic clang that approaches the throatiness of my GHK 553, a full steel construction replica for reference.

The variant sold on this website features an atypical "marine style" 180 degree throw fire selector (the standard throw on this Belgian is 90 degrees), and the manual of arms is identical to an AR or M4 in this capacity. The selector has enough tactile feedback on the clicks to make it feel satisfying.

The bolt on this replica is of course reciprocating, so understand that this will limit the amount space up front for you to place your hand.

The trigger performs well enough to make this replica easily spammable, although the feel is not quite genuine or precise. Modifying OEM parts here to customize trigger feel is not advised as these are made of weaker metals and will wear down to the point of dysfunction.

-Mods/maintenance

Well known weak points of this replica consist of a quick to wear/fail trigger group, poor bolt catch reliability, mediocre gas efficiency, and the loose gas adjustment knob. Sometimes these parts will fail overtime, but on many occasions people have found them to malfunction straight out of the box. In my case, the trigger reset began to fail after about 1k rounds. If you want to add this replica as a reliable and capable piece of your kit, you should consider the following drop in upgrades as practically necessary (and therefore factor it in to the overall cost of this replica):

*RA-Tech complete drop in steel trigger group (all components are shared with the WE m4/416 variant EXCEPT the trigger, which is longer on the Scar). The more expensive cnc steel version is not necessary. It is advised against to purchase individual components of the trigger group from RA-Tech as these may require additional modification to worth with each other reliably.
*RA-Tech NPAS valve. This is a direct, drop in replacement for the factory rocket valve in your air nozzle and will allow you to adjust fps for your local field limits (this gun is shooting pretty hot out of the box).
*Shim your magazine catch. It has been found that adding two 1mm shims to either side of the bolt catch along the pin that hinges it reduces side-to-side sway, increasing the reliability locking back on empty.
*AMG "winter" magazine spring. If you decided to do the "+5bbs mod" to your magazine, know that this will decrease the tension your mag spring will exert on the bolt catch mechanism, overall decreasing the reliability of your hold open on empty. This spring from AMG is stronger, and will increase the reliability of the faulty bolt catch mechanism.

Overall, this gun is a fun and accurate novelty out of the box that will, in most cases, require some additional work and money to bring it somewhat close to the level of something like a TM MWS, or to make it skirmishable in general.

"Very good gbbr, good quality polymer and other externals, shoots great and loving the metal clank it makes as I fire the gun. My only concern about this gun is the sight. The gun shoots low and the sight is useless because of this so I suggest and a red dot sight or other type of scopes. The internal parts are bound to break at some point but there are parts for that as I am very familiar with WE gbbrs.

"I purchased this gun along with the eglm grenade launcher, and all I have ti say is WOW. After using AEGs i decided to purchase a GBBR for realism and realistic it is. The Blowback on the gun is amazing kicks hard. The weight is very nice not to heavy not too light, doesn't feel like a toy. gun base great maneuverability in tight quarters with the stock folded.

Pros:
Hard Blowback
Plenty of Rails
Fully Licensed
Realism
High FPS
Can Use For CQB

Cons:
30 Round Mags
Cant use when its cold
Pin likes to fall out of the firing hammer bearing

"Cons
Need to lube before evey battle.
Clean after use for best performance.
30rd mag.
A slow rof (rate of fire) on Auto

Pros
It is soild as a tank.
green gass has a nice kick.
Puts a smile on your face.

Problems
Sometimes the tigger spring might get stuck all you need to do is lube a little for and let it sit for 2 minutes.
The Blot might break or crack ( just happened to mine ) send it in to evike use warranty for free fix.

"Problems:
-Stock hinge plate is weak and possibly shatters after using CO2 mags. Evike sells reinforced hinge.
-Firing pin fails to retract b/c a tab breaks off from the pin delay. Evike sells reinforced part. (i have this problem)
-I've heard about possible problems with mag, but have yet to see any.

This gun has great BB and with a 30rd cap. You definitely won't have the advantage in the field but probably the most fun. :)

even with the problems on my gun, i still enjoy using it over my AEG.

"I've bought this weapon quite a while ago in an attempt to get back into airsoft after so many years- this was not a great start.

*Please also take into consideration that before usage, this weapon was taken through proper preventative maintenance and care on multiple occasions. I'd recommend to everyone who does receive an airsoft gun to clean it thoroughly.

1) Upon receiving the weapon in the mail.
2) Cleaned before, during, and after parts installation
3) Cleaning the weapon the day prior to a planned game
4) Field stripping the day of the game.
5) (Even if it breaks down) Field strip after the game
6) Clean after coming home.

(Yes this seems like a lot, but unless you feel like dumping an extra couple hundred bucks on a new weapon OR a repair service, then twenty minutes and some silicone oil won't kill you.)

PRO'S
► Out of the box, the externals of the weapon were well made with no blemishes.
► That lovely full metal racking sound
► It's not an M4, (Nothing against the M4 platform, just had no intention on sticking in the norms at the time)
► It actually looks sexy in the bull pup conversion kit.

CON'S
►Internal trigger grouping is complete crap- I played a game with 2 full magazines before it locked the trigger grouping, forcing me to play in full auto with one more mag before completely locking the hammer down. It can only be moved now via stripping the kit off the weapon and going at the hammer with a flat tip screwdriver.
► I'm out some money on an NPAS Unit and a conversion kit i bought with the weapon.
► Currently looking for a better brand of trigger group than the stock WE brand.
► The tool it comes with, hidden in the gas block, cannot be used for anything. The head is too small (at least mine was)

Conclusion: Spend an extra 10 bucks of your money on a KWA PTR LM4. Yes it is an M4, but it's one I've used in the past without an issue out of the box.

The only reason this this is getting two stars instead of one is because look wise while wearing it's bullpup stock it looks sexy. Functionality wise, it's a P.O.S.
