"While it is a decent motor. The motor feels MUCH weaker than the long version even though they are supposedly the same thing.

"Bought this for a V3 build I had. Motor is decent and pulls back a M130 spring no problem, but the Combo of Speed & Torque might not be for your build. Does a fair job at ROF and works for the project I used it on.

"Pros:
Decent speed and torque.
Decent efficiency.
Smooth pinion gear.

Cons:
Does not cope well with high stress setups, none of my Lonex motors have lasted more than a season. DA/SHS motors have pulled similar setups for two seasons now and are still going strong.
Relatively weak magnets.
Pinion gear is made of softer steel than other brands.
Poorly shimmed armature.
Extremely soft brushes.
Overall fragile design.
Poor price/performance ratio.

I've used both the first gen and the Titan gen Lonex motors, and none were up to the task in my AEG's. I typically run setups with M120-M130 spring with 13:1 ratio gears, we are talking relatively high stress setups. Lonex motors work well in lower stress setups I've used them in, so they aren't bad motors, they are just a bit fragile. these motors run quite smoothly, but the slanted armature design combined with relatively weak neodymium magnets actually gives more overspin than other motors.

Lonex motors simply aren't worth the price IMO, when they are outperformed in every aspect by significantly cheaper motors. I recommend looking at other brands for motors for use in high stress setups, this motor will get the job done in more moderate setups though.

"Brought the a1 short type motor after having such a good performance experience with the a2 but unfortunately I find that the a1 motor wasn't that great. The motor didn't really perform all that much better than some stock motors and sounded pretty bad having alot more winding noise to it than usual. Also discovered that there was quite a bit of vertical up and down play with my motor spindle which obviously didn't help with trying to get a proper height adjustment.

Overall disappointed, some might have better luck with the a1 but I'd really recommend looking at the a2.

"Well, this motor was good while it lasted. I have a Cyma M14 with a version 7 gearbox that I completely redid. I installed a new metal ball bearing piston head, a new cylinder head, ball bearing spring guide, air nozzle, Gate Nano ASR MOSFET wired to deans, anti-reversal latch, tappet plate, a full metal teeth polycarbonate piston, an M150 spring, and I made sure it was perfectly shimmed and oiled. I have a Matrix 11.1v 4000 maH batter with a 25c/50c discharge rate that has plenty of power for my setup. After 5 minutes of the motor running beautifully in the gun, my rate of fire started to drop and then it stopped shooting. I checked all my voltages out of the battery and at the motor tabs, which was a constant 12.47 volts. I took the motor out of the gun to see if it would spin up, and it didn't. After five minutes of use this thing died on me. Sadly I'm out of warranty from Evike because I bought all the parts at different times, so now I'm out of the money. This motor is great for lower springs, but an M150 is just too much for it (and according to Lonex's site and the packaging it's good to an M170). Don't buy this for a big build.
