"OK, here's my 100% honest review:
I bought the WE-Tech Hi-Capa T-Rex Competition Pistol (Model: 5.1 / Silver w/ Maple Leaf Upgrade Suite) version of this gun and it shoots decent for what it is. At 60ft (20yrds) I've got it dialed in and shooting 5"- 6" groupings using .28's shooting at an indoor range, no wind to contend with. The thing is, I've also got the exact same identical W.E. hi capa gun accept in black color and WITHOUT the maple leaf upgrade and its shooting the same groupings at that range. If I had it to do all over again, I'd skip the maple leaf upgrade version and just get the non maple leaf version and save some $ because either one shoots the same. Here's an FYI for you though. At the same time I ordered this pistol I also ordered a TM hi capa 5.1 with no mods whatsoever and out of the box it consistently shoots 3" groupings at 60ft with the same .28 bbs!

"Let me preface this review by saying that this is the first airsoft gun I have purchased in about 14 years, I have owned primarily GBB pistols and SMGs in the past. I purchased this because ammo is getting expensive, and I wanted to be able to practice with something that mimics real firearms function.
Pros:
Fairly accurate using .2g BBs
Only one misfeed in the first 150 rounds (might have been caused by my thumb touching slide during cycling)
The rails actually accept real firearm accessories ( my first WE HI-CAPAs from 2005ish didn't)
Came with a threaded adaptor to replace orange tip if you are so inclined
Comes with a RMR mounting plate included
Mag does not leak
Cons:
The finish on the outer barrel has a minor bubble/blemish that is visible through the top slide window
The slide catch does drop after mag change ( you must depress it manually, you cannot slingshot the slide after mag swap)
The mag release feels like it is barely holding the mag in and feels like it may be a failure point.
Overall:
For $100. I am happy with this purchase so far, it shoots hard and accurate, sights are good, just be aware that there are some minor parts that will wear/ may need replacing sooner than I would like, but they are cheap enough that I am not worried. Enjoyed plinking enough with it in the back yard that I am thinking of getting back into airsoft play.

"OK so I bought this gun about 3 months ago and have shot at least 2500 shots through it. It is a good enough gun to use in a cqb field, but it has very poor accuracy and range. The hopup wheel never sticks enough, and the force of the blowback always puts it back into the very center. Recoil feels decent, nothing exceptional. When you spam it to shoot as fast as possible, the nozzle sticks. Cyclic rate is decent, obviously you need a stronger recoil spring (which I tried, but it would not cycle a 140%), or you need to get lighter housing. I did buy lighter housing, but I found out that it is not compatible. It is compatible with all AW parts for anyone wondering.(WE is AW's oem I think). I upgraded the hopup bucking the hopup chamber and the inner barrel. Now it shoots well, I have a full auto hi capa lower, and I full auto'ed the upper from this gun for almost 500 rounds, and it is still functioning well. Lastly I stippled the frame. I know this is a little harsh, but the plastic the grip was made out of is not good for stippling. The plastic melts and reforms to be sharp. Now for a list of pros and cons
Pros:
Shoots well out of the box.
Most everything is TM compatible except housing and nozzle.
If you spend an additional $100 for accuracy upgrades I was able to outrange a Krytac trident when I used .34's.
It will not let you down if you treat it well.
Cons:
Slow firerate
Bad accuracy out of the box
Some compatibility issues
Frame is not meant to be stippled

"Great inexpensive pistol, however the longevity of the gun may be questionable. Had it for a while now, and the hopup has slowly stopped working.
Pros
Inexpensive
Pretty accurate
feels and looks great
works well with a AW custom 50 rd mag
Cons
hopup degrades fast
makes noise when shook

"I'll start by saying this is an amazing pistol, and since it run's on green gas (Or propane, whatever method you decide to resort to), it makes a nearly perfect, non-CO2 pistol. This gun has plenty of positive factors, and although it has some downside's, most are based on my style of play.
It shoots great. It allows shooting for the fastest trigger fingers, and most shot's are consistent on where they go. It has a standard 30 round mag, which is (usually) more than enough for a sidearm. I haven't had this gun for too long (about 6-7 months), but recently, because of AEG problems, I bought another mag, and used it as a primary. I had 2 mags, so I had a total of 60 shots. For close quarters, this was enough to shoot a couple people.
All good things come with a price, and I'm not talking about the cost of the gun. If you have a leg holster made for a 1911, this gun is somewhat uncomfortable, and for me, tends to hit my leg every time I run. Also, green gas is more pricey than CO2, and is usually harder to find. I use the Propane-silicone alternative, and the gun runs fine. This means that you have to treat the gun well, like not using it in freezing temperatures, and applying lube to the internals every so often. You also have to take care of the mags, which can leak if they are beaten up of broken.
Overall, this is a great alternative to CO2 pistol's, and has great performance. Accurate, and powerful, and has a large mag. As long as you take care of it, this gun would be a good addition to an airsofters arsenal

"This is a very nice gun, it has a satisfying weight and kick. It also has inner barrel threads. The only problems I have had with this gun is that the mags are leaky and that the back iron sight the threads are strapped so it wiggles around. All-in-all, it is a very good gun for entry level and professional players alike

"PROS:
-Very nice looking gun
-Metal Slide, very good grip
-Very good weight (Light) without the magazine (if you intend to use adapter with another mag, this is great)
CONS:
-Magazine itself (maybe intentional) adds 1/3 the pistol weight, making it significantly heavier, it's a CON in my opinion.
-Performance & Accuracy issues related to the outer barrel, this could be a design defect / flaw, but the outer barrel is NOT fixed, at least not with the one I received. This is a PROBLEM, because the outer barrel keeps jamming into the loading nozzle, and also it moves with the slide about 0.75 inches with each cycle as well. This heavily influences the inner barrel NEGATIVELY thus performance and accuracy DROPS HEAVILY with this defect. Again, I don't know if this is a design defect or just the model I got, but the fact the outer barrel keeps moving around like that is WRONG.
This would have been a 5/5 stars if not for the defective pistol I got, and if it is a design flaw, then this gun is bound to be a disaster and stays at the 3/5, no outer barrel should EVER move like that!
If you're going to get a WE-Tech Hi-capa, I would heavily STEER away from this particular model, look for one where the slide is split, and designed to fix both parts in the right places, and removing the opportunity for this kind of defect, such as the Alpha / Dragon Slide

"Pretty good when I originally got it, but things got worse over time. Its only problem when it was new was gas consumption. This gun burns through it. Later, I had problems with the hop up being loose and the gas system coming undone.

"The gun feels great and kicks nice. Major cons though, out of the box the right side safety falls out when it's flipped up (im left handed so this is a drawback) and it will only fire about 4 times before dumping the entire mag's worth of gas because the seal between the air nozzle and mag aren't close enough. All i need is a replacement nozzle but it shouldn't be doing this out of the box.

"Hi, at first i must say this pistol worked fine and was a great gun. have had it for about a month now and it worked fine up until about 2 weeks ago now every time the pistol is fired the magazine will get stuck on something internally and will not move. its not the slide catch and it will occasionally fire an entire mag with no problems not sure what the issue is and emailed WE about it. i will revise this review after they get back to me
