"The magazines tend to have issues feeding, especially if loaded to capacity. Specifically you'll pull the bolt back, but it won't push forward all the way and then it'll sound like the BB somehow got stuck up in the mechanism or something. It's a quick fix though, just remove the mag and wobble the gun a bit until the pellet falls out.
The thing is built tough. I was worried the bolt handle would snap off since it was spring powered, but it's held up great. Everything else about the design is solid and sturdy. I wouldn't worry about it breaking if I were to drop it or accidentally smack the barrel against a tree or anything. I'd recommend it just for being so rugged a design, even having the magazine in the correct position! And at $125? I'd say it outclasses all the other Spring powered L96 variants out there.
Definitely pick it up if you wanna get into sniping, just be patient with the magazines.

"Love the gun right out of the box the design is amazing and looks unbelievable.....
Pros:
Deadly accurate
Is a nice heavy weight like a real gun
Realods decent like any other bolt action sniper
Stock is comfortable
Con's:
Mag is not good either when I put the bullets in the mag then put it in the gun something happens for example, when you put the bullets in the mag either the bullets stay down into the mag not allowing proper feed to the gun or when u put bullets in the mag the bullets go to one side of the mag and not allowing the proper feed of the bullet.
Pros:
Deadly accurate

"Looks like I will be the first to review this gun here in evike..
My first impression when I opened the box was that it came already assembled, which is nice. Stock quality is pretty decent, has a matte kind of finish and is fairly strong (won't bend or squeak) the cheek riser is kind of meh, as is the butt pad. Do not be fooled by the pictures, the butt pad and cheek rest are just as hard as the stock, but the softness doesn't really matter since this gun is only airsoft. The mags are nice quality and can hold a bunch (will return to the mags in the pros and cons) and they also fit pretty nice in the Mag well. Bolt takes some getting used to since it starts out being hard, but no surprise there. It gradually got easier once I put about 100-150 shots through it. The bolt is pretty smooth and the trigger is pretty nice, I am not really one to take notice of how the trigger performs, but i think it seems alright. The ambidextrous sling mounts and thumb hole stock is a nice touch. I got the black version of this gun since it was cheaper and it dropped from 150 dollars to 115 so why not? It came as a relief to me that this gun does come with the rod at the front of the stock for a bipod adapter, as well as a sling stud on the bottom for a Harris style bipod which is what I use currently. The internals are what you would expect from a cheap sniper, not too bad though. This gun performs well once you get it sighted in. I can probably hit a fairly small target at 100' with little to no wind with .32s.. But I have found that even the smallest amount of wind can make my shots miss. Again, no surprise there.
Pros:
pretty good external quality
Has good fps and range/accuracy given you use the right bbs (would recommend .32s or higher for better wind resistance)
Ambidextrous sling mounts and thumbhole
Fairly comfy stock
Easy to adjust hop up
Muzzle is internally threaded, but I'm not sure if it is unique or not..
Cons:
Big one here - the mags are of good quality, but be very careful not to completely fill it up, this will make it harder to keep bbs from launching up the ramp and into the chamber when you Cycle a round. It was very annoying but an easy fix. Not a fix to the problem, but a fix to getting the extra bbs out. Remove stock, remove loading ramp, dump out the bbs that got stuck inside, then reassemble.
Another con is that is can be kind of cumbersome. aside from the blocky structure of the stock, it can get heavy and wear you out quickly if you have a scope, bipod, and no sling...get a sling :)
I did not disassemble the gun, but I see that the piston and the spring guide are plastic, so be prepared to know how to fix it should you finally break it after so many months, or even years of use.
Overall, I find this gun to be super cool and another awesome piece to my collection. It has power and range, but as a novice sniper I can assume the things that would improve my sniping would be a tightbore, metal spring guide, and metal piston.. If you are in need of a cheaper sniper rifle that does not absolutely suck, yet isn't expensive.. This one may be the way to go!

"It's a decent gun out of the box that is pretty accurate. That being said, if you are considering upgrading the spring stay away from this gun. I've been trying to upgrade the spring in this sniper but it has an off spec cylinder, meaning I'd have to buy a new cylinder to upgrade it. This gun has been very accurate tho so I'd recommend getting the cyma M24 instead. It uses the APS2 system so it will be much easier if you want to do internal upgrades.

"when i got this gun there seemed to be feeding issues that came from the mag so they sent a new one but that didnt work either. mabye a different brand mag would work better. but the gun is good

"Its alright mag holds like 25 rounds the gun feals sturdy and is decently heavy. Shoots out to about 70 yard and feels nice. My problum is whem i pull the heavy spring bolt back its a bit hard to push it back in ya kinda have to jimmy it a bit. But nothin some lube cant fix. But yiu might want to just buy the CYMA VSR 10 that gun is no doubt one of the best guns i have ever bought and ive spent over 1200 dollars on guns alone and the CYMA VSR 10 is one of the best airsoft guns ever next to the krytac LVOA - C mow thats a good gun. But in summary the type 96 is alright gets heavy after a while and needs lube on the bolt like every 2 games.

"Seems to be well built. Will not lift .40 bb's with stock hopup. Maybe an after market would help. Barley lifts .30bbs. i was under the impression it would. Disappointed with range too. I get better range with my polarstar and a lot more accurate. It is a cheap rifle so i guess you get what you pay for.

"Disappointed:
Fast shooter (when you shoot it by someone they hear a phew past there ear)
Durable
Good looking
Adjustable stock
Accurate
Mag: is not good, putting the bullets in the mag works but when I put the bullets in the mag then put he mag in the gun the bullets go to one side and then the bullets won't shoot out of the gun because the bullet is not feeding into the gun so I have no issues with the gun just the mag and how the bullet is being fed into the gun.
