Matrix M4 GBB AR-15 Gas Blowback Airsoft Rifle w/ Reinforced WA System (Model: Slim MLOK 15")

"I have many problems with this rifle, mainly that it needed frequent replacement parts that came close to the cost of just buying it a second time. The charging handle snapped in two, the spring that keeps the bolt inside the bolt carrier snapped, and the included iron sights began wobbling freely whenever you move the rifle.

The mock suppressor is permanently glued to the barrel threads with epoxy, making attaching a tracer unit or other muzzle device incredibly difficult. If you want to buy one of these, definitely go with one that does not have a mock suppressor.

On the positives when the gun actually works, you get a very satisfying recoil impulse from firing it and it's performance is decent, shooting around 350fps with 0.25g bbs, and easily hitting man sized targets 120 feet away.

Overall, a mediocre gas blowback rifle, but if you don't mind buying replacement parts, it might be worth your time.

"I will start by saying that this version is completely different than the full metal version sold on this website. The full metal version has parts that are not compatible with any parts you could find on the internet. As for this version, it shot well, and at least the hop up worked. However..... the website advertised a 405mm barrel....lol...the one that came with mine was about 200mm(extremely extremely short). Overall I would not buy anything from Matrix, I would just fork out the extra money for a WE product!!! Hope this helps!!!!

"If you just want something fun to shoot in the backyard, then this gun will work perfectly fine. For people looking for a GBBR to play with, DO NOT BUY. I've had this gun for a year and had nothing but trouble. I tried many upgrades to improve performance, with no such luck. I suffered from poor accuracy, FPS inconsistencies, feeding issues, and HUGE FPS drops (down to 0.2J!), and no matter what it will have a very clunky trigger response and ROF. Upgrades I tried: SAI negative-pressure bolt assembly, tight bore barrel, maple leaf bucking, RA tech nub (for maple leaf), upgraded trigger assembly/spring, and upgraded nozzle. With all of these the performance was marginally better than out of the box and still suffered from misfeeds, poor accuracy, and low ROF. The performance of higher end GBBR's will be better out of the box and significantly cheaper once the price of the upgrades are considered, so keep that in mind. So for the people in the back, THE COST TO MAKE THIS GUN SOMEWHAT SKIRMISH-ABLE IS GREATER THAN THE COST OF A HIGHER-END GBBR THAT IS MORE SKIRMISH-ABLE OUT OF THE BOX!!!

If I haven't convinced you to get a better GBBR yet, here is the main reason you should: THE HOPUP. The hopup in this gun is absolutely terrible. It's loose, so the barrel wobbles considerably, and the only way to adjust it is to take off the entire handrail (which also requires taking off the mock suppressor), unscrewing the castle nut that holds it together, and then adjusting the hopup and putting it all back together. This is not at all something you can do on the field unless you are playing very long, and large, games. Not to mention the hopup is also very loose and will rotate when firing, so it needs to be adjusted A LOT. This is undoubtedly the worst hopup system I have ever had the misfortune of using.

Lastly, there is a very misleading item in the product description that says WA GBBR parts are widely available. This is simply not true. As I was to later find out, the industry as a whole is moving away from the WA system due to many performance and reliability issues. The WA system is the most realistic in terms of parts, which is very cool, but it does not work nearly as well as the GHK, VFC or TM systems. Because of this, the only way to get most upgrade or replacements parts is from shops in Asia, so have fun waiting for your packages.

-light, durable construction
-uses AEG barrels/hopup buckings
-Mags are actually quite good and hold up to 50 rounds
-fun to shoot (as is literally any GBBR, though)

Cons:
-terrible, inconvenient and loose hopup system, results in poor accuracy
-Poor RoF and trigger response (even when upgraded, somehow)
-Feeding issues
-WA GBBR parts are NOT widely available

"I don't want to give this gun a bad grade, but it just doesn't cut it for my needs.

Pros:
-SUPER fun to shoot
-SUPER lightweight
-SUPER realistic

Cons:
-Mags leak from odd places
-Shoots too hot for CQB, which is what I bought it for
-NO PARTS COMPATIBILITY (It turns out the world has pretty much stopped using the WA system years ago. Any parts you can find for a WA system are likely discontinued.)
-Doesn't work with duster gas (One of the methods I tried to use to get the FPS low enough for CQB)
-Mags are always out of stock

You're probably just better off getting a we tech or a KJW.

This may be my first negative review.

The hop-up for this model IS BLOCKED BY THE BARREL NUT.

Yes, you heard that right, you have to remove the hand guard and barrel nut to get to the hop-up, leaving you to only adjust it once beforehand.

To really put the icing on the cake, this hop is totally busted on mine and shoots all over the place, and I have not found a replacement yet.

The M16-style version that I also own of this gun, I rated five stars and was great, but the MLOK 15" is 0 Stars for sure.
