"Overall, you get what you buy. It's nothing special for an 80 dollar gun, but it's not absolutely terrible. It's okay for CQB games, but if you're looking to buy this for outdoor woodlands games, don't bother. It fires around 200 to 240 FPS with .2 gram BBs, but it does shoot around 340 FPS with .12 BBs.

Pros:
Light
Small
Trigger pull is short, but not too sensitive

Cons:
Loud
Low FPS with .2 gram BBs
You have to hit the magazine a bit harder than usual into the gun, otherwise the mag will fall out easily.

"This was my first airsoft gun. It was the only of my novice-level AEGs that worked and worked consistently, both it and it's high-cap mag. It's really light (without being too much of a 'toy') and has an adjustable stock and flip-down sights. There's not much more to say about this-- I've had it for for about 4 years now, it's seen A LOT of use and none of it particularly gentle or nice, and it still works to this day. The battery it comes with is a bit short on usage, so I don't know if you'd want *that* for battle use, but it's just fine for target-shooting or short play with friends and thus is a big plus considering that most rifles of it's type don't even come with batteries at all.

I know that rails are pretty common, especially on M4s, but I'd like to point out the utility that I found unique in this gun. I have a lot of airsoft guns now, and most only feature just enough rails to hold a scope or a laser-- this one is almost all rails, and yet it manages to stay oddly ergonomic, considering. I've stuck everything to this-- lasers, grips, scopes, reflexes, flashlights-- in some cases to ridiculous ends in the pursuit of humor-- and it always felt well-balanced.

To summarize; This isn't a particularly fancy gun, but my personal experience with it has been very trustworthy. I recommend it for it's price-- even more so if you can find it on sale-- but wouldn't blame you if you looked for another gun for 80$-- just know that this rifle bridges the gap between high-end realism-based performance rifles and low-end cheap plastic toys well, so it's *ideal* if that's something that interests you-- tactical prowess on a budget.

"Overall, for a beginner, this is a nice gun. It's fairly sturdy and great for getting into the sport. The power and range suffers some though, this was measured to be a decent fps, but with not so decent bbs. Usually, you're going to want to use .20 gram bbs, which is going to drop the fps down to the 200s. Once you start shooting at around 100 to 150 feet you'll need to angel the gun up, which isn't that bad, but not exactly what you want. Basically, this gun is to see if you want to spend more money and increase your capability on the field. This IS NOT a gun you're going to use for more than, about, a year, but if you're just getting into the game it's a great choice.

"First rifle I ever purchased, and it was good for the time. Works well for close quarters engagements, but you'll need a higher quality one for long range. Stock got pretty loose after using it for a few months, but that's no big deal as I'd already gotten another weapon by that time.

Pros:
Good price
Pretty nice construction
Very lightweight (con for my but pro for most)

Cons:
Inadequate for long range engagements
Most M4 mags will be a strange fit in this, for whatever reason.

"This gun is fairly good. Great for beginners. This gun is very lightweight, and can fit many batteries. I do not recommend using a lipo, because it will grind your gears into nothing in no time, with this plastic gearbox. I got this academy, not on evike, but buy it here. 30 bucks cheaper. The gun can be a little awkward with the mags it accepts. It will accept PMAGS, but not standard M4 mags. Oh, and to all the people who say the FPS is jacked, how it starts at 350 then lowers, it means that you put a heavier BB in it. Use .12s or .20s in this gun, nothing else.

Pros-
Good FPS
Fairly Inexpensive
Takes many batteries
Lightweight (may be a con)
Great for starters
Very Accurate

Cons-
Only takes PMAGS
Plastic

Overall, it has lasted me a long time, and once, i even beat an echo1 throughout an entire game with it. Great beginners gun.

"Great gun my first fully auto one. I've had it for about 2 months and the stock broke but that was fixed with hot glue. I think this gun is awesome and I've gone to friends houses and shot great guns and horrible guns but this one is really darn good.

"i got this gun a while a go its fps is everywhere first its 435 then 246 crazy.

Pros:

metal mag
nice iron sights

cons:
weird fps
mag bugs all the time

"Bought this gun 6 months ago, it is a great starter.

Pros:
1. Very durable polymer, not plastic (Polymer is not the same as plastic), I have dropped it on concrete with minor damage
2. Lots of rail space
3. Very accurate
4. Flip up sights, good for when using red dot like I do
5. You won't get tired of carrying it, but it doesn't feel unrealistically light

Cons:
1. RPS is low with included battery, buy a 9.6v
2. Plastic gearbox

I honestly sat for 5 minutes trying to think of more cons but couldn't. Never the less, I would suggest buying something that a bit more expensive, or if you can't save up a bit. I would suggest a G&G Combat Machine, or something along those lines. Also, if something inside this gun breaks, its a lot more work to fix than a gun you can takedown easily and just buy a new part.

"I purchased this gun almost a year ago, and I love it. It's a great value for the price you pay. I'm not saying it is an amazing quality gun, but it works well for most situations. I have never had it jam on me, and the stock battery is pretty reliable. my only complaint is that the stock is not extremely strong. the design of the gun makes it so that if you hit the stock hard enough, (hitting a door frame at a speed that would break any plastic stock, for example), the back of the receiver will snap off. the best thing to do is to dismantle the stock, and superglue it back on one part at a time. The only other damage it has sustained after 1 year is I accidentally broke the plastic piece that keeps the front sight vertical. the only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because it is not an A++ quality gun. I'll try to answer the most common questions about it.
Q: will this gun take m4 mags?
A: yes. I have not found an M4 mag that won't fit it yet.
Q: is the muzzle threaded for a suppressor?
A: nope.
Q: what kind of gearbox is it? v1? v2?
A: this gun contains a non-upgradeable plastic gearbox. It works great, but you can't upgrade it.

the best thing to do if you want to upgrade this is get a 9.6v butterfly battery and some sort of red dot sight.

"Disclaimer: I live in a region with no indoor fields; it’s pretty much exclusively an outdoor sport around these parts.

This is a great starter gun for backyard wars, indoor fields, and backyard soda can plinking. But if you plan to play outdoors, I’d invest in something that can confidently throw heavier BBs a greater distance. This gun is meant to shoot .12s, and I’ve been confidently shooting .20s in my backyard at close range, but that’s the upper limit of what you can effectively shoot.

On my first outdoor game with this gun, I was chrono’d at ~170 FPS on .25s (the lightest the field offered, it’s a field BB only shop). If I was more experienced I probably could have made that work, but this was my first airsoft gun ever, and I couldn’t effectively hit anything further than 50ft out.

Again, this would make a great gun for fast-paced indoor play - it’s very lightweight, shoots at plenty acceptable indoor levels, and is effective at close range. In my specific case, it wasn’t effective. For just a little more money, you can get something with a heftier gearbox that can throw those BBs a lot farther and faster. If you’re like me and love the HK416 silhouette and living out your Battlefield 4 fantasies, Umarex’s HK416A5 Competition Series AEG would likely be a better investment.

"This gun is terrible even for a starter gun I got this gun when i first started airsoft not knowing what was what and always regretted it this gun never broke on me but it had a ton of issues first of all the gearbox was so bad that if you fired the gun in semi too fast it would fail to feel and you would have to I jam the barrel also this gun feels like a paper weight the heaviest part of this gun is the stock and that’s only because my battery was in it this gun has no range no accuracy and if you use any BBs over .20s you might as well throw your ammo at your opponents I tried to open this gun to see what was inside and couldn’t do it for the life of me when I tried to remove the picatinney rails the bolts stripped instantly and I struggled to put an M4 mag into the mag well right out of the box honestly I would of preferred a spring gun compared to this if you want to play airsoft spend the money and buy a decent gun don’t waste your time on this cheap nerf gun knockoff

"Honestly I thought this would be way worse than what i received, even though it was still terrible. So basically this was my first gun and out of the box it was 330 fps, so pretty bad, but accurate to tge price. The mag feeds pretty bad as well, some bbs don't come out every shot and sometimes 2 come out. Suprisingly, this is accurate at 30 feet, so i guess it would be OKAY for CQB arenas. The stock is really wobbly, and you cannot take this thing apart, it just splits in half, and it is really bad for upgrading. I'd say it's pretty good for the price, if you get a better battery the RPS goes up a LOT, also the hop up is adjustable. If you are looking for a forst gun, please, please, please keep looking, this will not do you any good, you can get better things for this price, even on Amazon. This could be good for costumes or backyard wars, that's it. Definitely would not recommend for outdoors, maybe for a joke. The charger actually works but also wouldn't recommend. Maybe would be good for parents looking for a gun for a kid just wanting one.

"Bought this gun at my local academy for $10 more.

This gun will use midcaps, at least the unknown brand I have from years ago.

shoots pretty straight with .20 gram bbs.

recommend 9.6v or 7.4 lipo.

Plan on seeing if I can install a normal V2 gearbox to out the plastic gearbox.

For a few extra bucks you can buy an budget AEG wit a metal gearbox, I only bought this out of pure curiosity AND will be field tested next weekend.

"I wrote a detailed review and it never posted...

It's overall a good gun. Solidly built. Terrible mags though. They don't seat well at all and are super hard to get in.
by Keane A. on 12/21/2020
"SO a lot to say about this gun. For 100 its ok it shoots bbs and battery works ok. But here is some negative things. Any other m4 mag you have to beat to get into the gun properly. The butt plate is not only uncomfortable but is not secure it fell of one game and I haven’t seen it since. The Rear sight is pretty good but the front flip up has snapped and broken several times. Also , they say its what 300 FPS no I get a nifty 122 FPS. So its a ok starter gun but don’t rely on it.
