Matrix / S&T Sportsline M4 RIS Airsoft AEG Rifle w/ G3 Micro-Switch Gearbox (Model: Black URX 3.1 8")

"I'm an airsoft noob but was ready to join my son in playing the game. I purchased this Matrix M4 at the Evike pro shop in Spring, TX. I knew I wanted something better than "toy grade" but didn't want to go crazy. The staff at the store had nothing but great things to say about this gun. The stock spring did run hot at the indoor range so add $10 if you need to bring it down to 350 fps or below and another $50 to get you going with a battery and charger.
I purchased the FDE model and it looks legit. I did pay more at the store, BUT that's because they'd already done some custom work on it; metal barrel, integrated "suppressor", metal quad rail and collar.

PROS:
Solid Construction
GREAT value for the $$
Upgradable
Accurate out of the box
Looks super cool
Metal magazine (runs like a champ!)
Metal gearbox and G2 micro switch

CONS:
No sling points
For indoor play - ran nearly 400 fps out of box. So, had to spend another $10 for spring (but it was an easy swap!)
No battery/charger - add another $50 to price

This wasn't my first airsoft gun, or even my third one. However, I wish it would have been my first.

Don't be scared off by the non-metal full body. This is still built very well. I admit, I bought this gun for the internals. Though, just how it is right out of the box, it has performed way better than my more expensive stock guns. This thing is truly a laser.

Pros:

Accuracy: I have guns with tight bore barrels in them that this shoots just as accurate as them.

Internals: With the reinforced gear box and the built in mosfet you can run a 11.1! When you're trying to get that extra advantage, it's the little things that add up. With the added fire rate you get from this gun being able to run an 11.1 inside of it, coupled with the accuracy = laser!

Light weight: I wasn't sure how I would respond to the lighter weight, as I typically like the full metal feel. Let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised. I sometimes run with a riot shield. If I choose to, and have a couple times, I still can with this gun. I still feel confident with my shots only one handing this weapon. Did I tell you about the accuracy yet??

Additionally with the lighter build I am able to equip different attachments to this gun that I previously haven't with my heavier ones. I added a double clip for my 460 round flash magazines and it shoots like a dream. If you think about it, adding nearly a 1000 rounds with two full metal magazines can add quite a bit of weight to a load out. But with this gun, it honestly doesn't matter. I honestly don't really have a use for my rig anymore, lol.

Price: Whether you're buying this gun as a project for the internals or needing a gun that can truly compete with the 500 dollar price range ones. This is the one for you. It has a mosfet, it has a electric switch trigger for quicker response. It has everything those guns come with. I really was skeptical about how good this gun would be for the price. Let me be one of the many that tell you this. For what you get, this is truly the best deal out there currently.

The first time I took this out to our buddy's field where we play, I easily had my best outing.

Cons: It's a little smaller than I thought it would be. I bought the 8" variance. If you want something closer to the real size feel, go with the 10". However, with mine being as small as it is, it fits nicely in my backpack so easier travelling.

Honestly no others come to mind. Yes, it isn't full metal, but if other guns sacrificed externals for better internals like this gun did, I would buy them all. Again, even if you drop it, it'll hold up. It's a very strong polymer. They use these for rental guns at arenas out in California. One, it means they hold up well. Additionally, it means they perform well. Arenas aren't going to give you a gun that doesn't perform at least in the same realm as other guns people bring in from the outside. They want you to come back to spend more money.

I even had other friends use this gun for a couple matches to ensure the performance wasn't all in my head. They all did well with it.

"Expect great things i got this gun thinking it would be a nice little gun that if i broke it i would not really care boy was i wrong this gun had so many things that impressed me beyond belief one of my team members spent nearly $300 on a rife but this one only spending $110 (after the battery) kept up perfectly with his $300 dollar one occasionally out preforming his anything bad about this was easily fixed overall WAY IMPRESSED

"MATRIX SPORTSLINE M4 AIRSOFT AEG RIFLE W/ G2 MICRO-SWITCH GEARBOX,
I recently purchased the Matrix M4 Sportsline AEG for $99.00 on sale. The model I got was the M4 COMMANDO version, which is the smallest model, (great as a backup to my Sniper rifle). When I got the package, it was in a nice Matrix box. Inside the gun was nicely secured. After checking for damage, I grabbed a charged 9.6v battery, 25g bb's, and fired it.
Pros:
Sturdy body
Nice RESPONSIVE micro-switch gearbox
Great ROF (for $99)
300 rd metal magazine
Good FPS
Pretty dang ACCURATE


Cons: Have NOT found any.

"I recently picked this up as a backup/loner AEG, but after giving it a test run out in the field I gotta say that it's a seriously well performing AEG right out the box. The stock hop-up and inner barrel with some minor dialing in had no issues and hopped bbs flat and very straight for a stock barrel. Now the real money in my opinion is in this AEG's micro-switch trigger which makes semi-auto on this baby super consistent with no accidental double or triple fire and has a functional trigger response for quick shooting. Now let's talk about the polymer receiver which EVEN has a plastic buffer tube and plastic buffer tube plate.. while not aesthetically pleasing in its finish, cuts down the weight and helps give it a good balance. Last, but not least I would recommend replacing the battery stock in the long run. The battery stock it comes with is functional, but of low quality and there are better budget friendly options out there.

In short,

PROS: Micro-Switch Trigger w/mosfet runs great with 25C burst from an 11.1v Lipo.

Good balance and Lightweight.

*My opinion* No EBB shenanigans, completely unnecessary feature in nearly all cases.

Good stock hop-up and inner barrel. No modifications needed out of the box.

CONS: In the long run, this gun is not going to be super upgradable aesthetically beyond popping in MOE hand
guards to add more accessory options. (Would not sink more money into this one)

Low quality stock, would replace but it is not an immediate issue.

No buffer tube sling point for using a 1-point sling, have to use a 2-point sling to carry it stock.\

Orange Flash Hider is secured with a metal pin on the bottom of barrel, not impossible but annoying to
remove. (Recommend caution in removing as metal pin is recessed into barrel which prevents orange tip
from rotating.)

"I’ve been playing airsoft for almost 7 years and I’ll say one thing. This gun is good straight out of the box. I bought the tan RIS version (wanted to get the black one but oh well.)
I’ll just go ahead and list the pros and cons.
Pros:
-Very sturdy and well made gun, doesn’t rattle when you shake it and there are no loose parts.
-The ris is full metal AND it is an mk18 mod 1 style ris which I’m a big fan of.
-Lots of space to put on the ris but it’s all down to personal preference.
- Shoots really hard, for me it shot around 390 FPS.
- Comes with a good metal magazine.
-The body itself is plastic (externals) but it’s not a cheap plastic, this can also be a pro because it makes the gun lighter but can be a con if the user wants a metal body, this part is all down to personal preference. Also no rusting.
-Nice flip up sights, very clear to see through
-Short rail perfect for cqb which this gun excels in, people complain that the gun is too short but it’s actually supposed to be short considering it’s an mk18. Though this gun is good for outdoor play too.
-Price is excellent considering how good the gun is.
-Really good, I mean really good trigger pull.
Cons:
-Plastic body (more down to reference because I think this is a pro)
-FPS is too high for cqb play but can be lowered.
-The stock man, it’s just not the best. It’s dooable but should be replaced by like a magpul pts stock or any stock of your choice. With the stock, it’s been poorly cut so it’s a— meh? It’s possible just mine.
- I don’t like the pistol grip too but that’s up to personal choice. I just fine the grip not that comfortable without gloves. It’s best to replace it too.
- This might be just my gun but the front flip sight can be a little hard to flip up but it’s not a big issue.
-At longer ranges it can be a little unaccurate but isn’t noticeable much.

Overall I highly recommend this gun to both new and experienced players because it’s very fun, very affordable and really worth it especially for the price. This gun is certainly more better than a combat machine in so many ways. This gun is also able to be easily upgraded like most M4s.

My suggestions are only to use a Lipo which I recommend on any Aeg, get a better pistol grip and stock when you get the chance and that’s pretty much it. And also make the gun look sexy, it might become your main gun. (If you want more information, just dm me on my Instagram Communist.succ).

Pros: accurate, roatary style hopup, nice hi cap mag, great red dot, long lasting batteries and nice gearbox

Cons: hopup is plastic, mid cap is hard to load doesn't feed well at all you have to push the mag forward for the bb to load, mid cap pops out all the time and the mid cap wobbles like crazy I can just wobble it out without even pressing the mag release button, the fake bullets look stupid ( I recieved the bamf mid cap so I don't know anything about the other mid cap but the hi cap magazine fits great)

If you are looking for an entry level, this I recommend. Otherwise, get a Krytac! (I have both!)

"I have had this gun for about five months now, no problems at all. The only thing I was worried about was the M203 being too heavy but it is not. The gun's FPS definitely is at least 370, if not more. I would recommend this gun as a starter gun.

The G2 gearbox is great, nice electronic trigger and is easy to upgrade or downgrade with the quick change spring system.
The M203 takes all the shells I have
The Rifle takes all the m4 AEG mags and drum mag I have
The 9.6V battery included are highest quality possible
The smart charger included is high quality and useful
The red dot scope is by AIM Sports for real guns!

I say, if you don't have this, you need to buy it.
