"if I had to sumarize this device in one word, it would be "nifty".
thats exactly what this "flash bang" is, its nifty, it comes with a battery and charger so your all set, I love the realistic operation of pulling the pin then releasing the spoon and a it lights up with chirp for the countdown, after that, the fireworks begin, it sounds like a standard fire alarm blaring, and the lights flash very brightly.
I use this in cqb with a concrete floor and while the plastic shows scratches and marks, its still very usable.
it is "toyishly" light but thats to be expected, its also larger than expected and my grenade pouch would not fit it. i remedied this actually by just sliding the spoon through my molle webbing. not very secure, but it works for now until I pick up a larger pouch.
im giving it 4 stars because i feel t238 really missed an oppurtunity to add some customization to this device, such as flash only, sound only, etc. its a little depressing that it only goes off twice per release of the spoon, I really wish it went longer or was continuous but I digress.
it really adds another level of play in cqb, even if it not an actualy grenade, the light and sound really add another dimension to cqb.
so i would recommend, but you should probably watch some youtube videos on it so that way you know how it functions
