"lil history lesson. this was put on original m16s first fielded in vietnam. later in the war, when transitioning to the M16A1, they had a birdcage (the A1 birdcage is open all the way around, A2 is closed on the bottom).

If you want to be authentic, dont put this on a gun that has a forward assist (M16A1 and later). If you want you gun to look cool though, PUT THIS BAD BOY ON
