"Has roughly the same amount of fps as advertised. ROF is a little slow but it is fully upgradeable so that shouldn't be a problem. Great realistic feel and weight!

"Update: Im very impressed with this gun ive fielded it and upgraded it and my goodness its a lovely AK,
I put in a "Maple Leaf MR Hop Up Bucking" and a "Maple Leaf Omega nub" and this thing shoots lasers probably could upgrade the barrel but im not to worried as the barrel does not look bad, as for battery space you have to use a lipo stick type battery however you can fish the wires to the side of where the battery compartment folds down and attach a peq box to the gun and use almost any battery that way thats how I setup my AK, so now im using a 9.6v butterfly battery on this.

"I was skeptical at first just like the other reviewer but I also took the plung and im pretty happy with what I got, it does not feel like cheep plastic its very sturdy no creeking feels hard the only gripe I have is fitting batteries in it I can get my 7.4v lipo stick battery to fit but when you try to slide the rack back it will not slide because it will hit the wires and if you buy https://www.evike.com/products/20800/ you will need to sand off the lip of it a little bit to get it to fit because the feed for the bbs on the mag is shorter then the cyma mags but after I sanded it it fed perfectly every time over all I like this gun and hope more people start to look at it!

"I purchased the featherweight model. I was a little leery as there were no reviews and precious little information to be found online, but I took the plunge and have been very satisfied so far. Straight out of the box, this guy was ready to go.

I did some updates to improve the accuracy and performance - upgraded the connectors to Deans, added a Mad Bull Black Python 6.03 inner barrel, and a Maple Leaf MR Hop 70 Degree bucking. There is no MOSFET installed, so I've ordered a Perun AB++ to install and add pre-cocking and burst fire options, as well as other benefits, and I plan on using a 7.4v Titan Li-Ion going forward. I've also done a slight re-shimming, as the out-of-the-box shimming was minimal, but it wasn't horrible. I am able to comfortably and consistently hit targets from 165ft+ using .28's, and while only utilizing a 8.4V NiMh battery, the rate of fire is fair with a 28 TPA high torq motor (from what I can research). You will likely have to slightly modify your space under the dust cover to fit larger stick-type batteries - it's a tight fit, but can be done. A future update will be to change out the plastic hopup unit, but it appears to work well now.

The polymer construction is very sturdy, and the gun is a joy to play with. For the money, it's hard to beat!

Pros: Inexpensive, accurate, durable-but-lightweight polymer. Ready to play now, and easy to upgrade later.
Cons: No MOSFET, but that's an easy fix.

"At the time of purchase (12/23), there were no reviews or much information the the web on this gun, so I was a little unsure of what I was getting myself into. But, considering that CYMA does make a good AK, and that this is a lot less than the other CYMA Platinum models, I wanted to give it a try. I purchased the featherweight model.

I am not regretting it at all.

I did install a Mad Bull Black Python inner barrel (honestly, the stock one felt pretty heavy-duty and looked decent, but for the money, you never know what you're getting there), and a Maple Leaf bucking. With minimal hop-up applied, I am easily hitting a person-sized target with .28's every shot when shooting indoors at 160ft. The hop-up inside is poly, so that's likely to get an upgrade down the road to a CNC unit, but for now, no complaints. I am running an 8.4 1600 Mah Nimh by Matrix, and it is an extremely tight fit under the dust cover, but it will go with a little squeezing. Planning on trying out a Titan Li-Ion down the road, but since I'm not going for a high rate of fire on this gun, I'm completely satisfied with the ROF I have now.

I changed the connectors to Deans, and added a red-dot sight - and now it's time to get out and try it for real. So far, though - well done, CYMA!
