"Fantastic replica! it brought back so many memories! even the bad ones!

for real thought this is a really good replica, if you do the HPA and drum mag conversion it is legit the best GBB replica I have used. glad to see so many people making parts for it already.

IT DOES COME WITH A HEATSHEILD BTW

"Great lmg, I decided, like many other that bought this lmg to convert it to hpa (it straight up use 1/8 fittings, standard hpa fittings) as both the box mags and the regular mags has cooldown issues. Also this M249 is insanely lite, about the same weight as featherweight lmg, however the body is made of aluminum unlike the featherweight, with key parts being made of steel.

"So this gun has been a topic of controversy with everyone either liking the way VFC designed this gbbr and or hating it. For me, this gun has almost limitless potential. With a ton of guides on the internet to follow this gun can be one of the best has blowback LMG on the airsoft market.

So far the only mod I ended up doing to this was converting it to hpa which is stupid simple and easy. The other change was swapping the bucking to a maple leaf wonder 70 degrees. Lastly converting an aeg box mag to work with this gun. I would recommend watching explosive enterprises entire breakdown and update video on the 249 which will help get you started on making this gun excel.

As a stock rifle before the mod, the performance was still good albeit could be better. I had great range shooting .28s and .32s out of it, but ideally any bbs heavier than .30s is preferred in this gun.

Make sure you are following the manual of arms for this rifle to prevent any sort of issues or damage to the internals of the gun.

As recommended, DO NOT put any more than roughly 100 bbs in the mags. The bbs will jam no matter what you do to it.

Do note that this gun is NOT heavy and is easily 8~10lbs depending on what you have on it attachment wise so don't expect something you need to work out for.

Only cons are the price, and the mags. People will complain about how the mags are unrealistic but in reality it's actually not as bad as people say it is and it allows the user to perform an actual reload that isnt just pouring bbs into the side of a box mag and then calling it a day. Nothing is more fun than running empty mid fight and having to get your gun up and running again.

But despite that the ability and EASE of moding this gun is something worth looking at. Overall I whole heartedly recommend this gun for anyone looking to get into the support role with an added bonus of realism (yes I know the mags are unrealistic but the act of reloading it after it runs empty is pure serotonin).
