" This is my first time writing a review on EVIKE. I just finished participating in Milsim West, and I’ve been using the T191 for three straight days—it’s absolutely amazing! The experience was off the charts, and I highly recommend this rifle!
First off, the recoil is strong, and the full-steel construction feels incredibly solid. You don’t have to worry about it getting damaged from bumps or drops. The build quality is top-notch, totally worth the price. However, there’s one thing to keep in mind: the factory FPS is quite high (450-500FPS). If your field has FPS limits, I recommend getting the 350FPS nozzle or adding some rubber O-rings to the stock nozzle to lower the pressure.
Out of the box, this gun needs a bit of tuning. For example, you might want to install a few O-rings to stabilize the FPS in full-auto mode (the difference between semi and full-auto FPS is around 80-100 with the stock setup). Also, make sure to tighten the relief valve for better performance.
Overall, the stock HPA/CO2 system is unbeatable for the $600 price point. The quality is rock-solid. The upper and lower receiver might have a slight wobble, but many real firearms have the same issue, so it’s nothing to worry about. Plus, this gun is made by E&L, the same manufacturer that produces the real QBZ191. It’s a fantastic piece for both collecting and skirmishing!
" TLDR: Pretty good, get it if you are interested in OPFOR based guns and have enough time and $$ to figure out some kinks. Don't get it if you expect a perfect airsoft replica out of the box with no work required to make it work.
Kai F is the reason I got this gun. I've wanted it for a while and when I met Kai at Milsim West event I got to see it in person. The 191 is a very faithful replica of the current PLA issued rifle, and it is constructed very well from the real steel's factory line. Expect the externals to be excellent, and the internal to be robust. There are some minor issues with upper and lower fitment that causes minor wobbles, which is also an identical issue to the real steel design. That being said, from the looks department this thing definitely rocks.
There were some legitimate concerns regarding some factors of this gun; Nonocat did a very good in-depth video on it. To put it short, it is very much a GBB at its core: it just happens to be using HPA/CO2 so don't expect it to be gas efficient like a polarstar engine. The gun requires minimum 650 psi for it to function, which means if you have a 3000 psi tank you only really get to use 2350 psi before the performance degrades dramatically. Do bring extra HPA tanks if you expect to use it at longer duration events.
FPS can also be an issue but from both Kai and I's discussion, it seems to be very much depending on how lucky you are. Kai's 191 with a serial number in the 400s were identified as an early model of 191 copy that uses an Asian market nozzle, which puts the FPS well over 450 stock. While mine's serial number in the 800s uses a low FPS nozzle that produces 320-350 FPS stock. Although the exact numbers where the internal parts changed can not be traced, if you get this gun, check the left side of upper receiver and see if there are two fake rivets located where near the front of upper receiver meets the lower. If there are those two rivets, it is a later production model that likely has a lower FPS nozzle.
Pros:
- Excellent external quality
- Simple internal parts that produces great reliability
- Easy to get into for first time HPA user
- Good hop ups
- Feels excellent from both sound, recoil, handling
- Very good range
- More accurate than a regular GBBR
- Bragging rights
- Everyone on the field wants to know what it is so big ego boost
- Social credit scores 99999
Cons:
- Early models need work to drop FPS
- Proprietary parts (hop up, inner barrel, nozzles, etc.)
- Need work out of the box to improve air seal
- Magazines suck
- Gas inefficiency for longer games
- CO2 is just a selling point or for backyard plinking, don't expect to game with it
- Muzzle device is part of the barrel so you cannot swap it out with other muzzles
- Less accurate compare to a AEG based HPA rifle
- Does not come with rail pieces in the box
