"great gun . the long inner barrel gives it reach !
pain in the @ss to tie a battery in it. :/
the hi cap mag it comes with does not fit , feed , or work int he gun , the standard mag works fine. aftermarket mags work.
hop up surprisingly hops .32s no sweat !
out of the box solid gun . :)

"Nearing 8000rds fired. It's a good and solidly built gun. I had bad biomechanics during a whole day game, and my elbow kinda paid for it due to the weight of the gun.

The hop up is kinda proprietary but you can get spares through here on Evike. It was a tad different to take apart. I attempted to install an MR hop and after seating the hop arm into the rotary dial it added pressure to the nub. With this, a "hop off" still pushed the Omega nub down enough that .25g were overhopped. It's not a big deal if you're strictly run heavy BBs. It's not necessary the arm or the nubs fault. There's just a lot of material in the MR hop patch.

I think the only two things I don't care for is the longer wiring you see under the dust cover (which doesn't matter if your battery actually slides under the rear sight), and taking the little nylon cap off to reveal the hex screw retaining the fire selector lever.

(Extraneous info: Using a 6.01x247mm barrel from Lambda)

This looks better with a DYTAC/SLR Linear Compensator than the obnoxious square one they give you out of the box.

"I get a ton of compliments for this PSD model. It's a great basis to make a Draco pistol. You can run this like an AK pistol removing the folding stock. Stock is solid no wobble. Not hard to deploy or put away, pull up hard to store or release.

I actually don't care for the included tank muzzle brake, so I ended up selling it to someone that wanted it. Handguard is nice with just enough space for small lights or a QD sling point. I do recommend getting NCStar 45 degree offset to have lights at a 11 or 1 oclock position so you can actually grip the fore end. I actually don't recommend a usual mlok grip since there's such limited space. You can opt for the really tiny hand stops. I bought a UTG brand so I rest the gun on a barricade or cover.

Sights aren't anything to write home about. I put a red dot immediately right on the rear sight block. The gas tube rails are probably for a red dot cover or sling point.

Receiver is great. Has a magwell spacer. Word on the block that steel parts are E&L origin. Though finding batteries could be a chore. Matrix 1200mah 7.4v, Valken 1300mah 7.4v, Airsoft com 1400 7.4v all fit. You may need to wire manage as the deans plug is reinforced, but chunky. Selector switch is crisp and may need some breaking in. Alternatively you could learn to disassemble and that way loosen the switch just slightly. Trigger pull is fair.

That being said I'm still running this entirely stock even after 5000 to 7000 rounds. It's pretty accurate, but I'm already considering changing for a 50 or 60 degree MR hop bucking. I'm mostly happy with the gearbox sound. It may need a better quality shim and regrease for a quieter gearbox. Alternatively you can quick change it for m95/100 spring to shoot 1J. I received a lot of comments saying how quiet it was after the spring change. You may not necessarily have to remove the gearbox from the receiver as you could free it after removing the grip and selector from the receiver and freeing up the magwell spacer. You could torque the gearbox so the QD spring guide clears the receiver. Gunfire's youtube shows this method with an E&L Gen 2 QD spring.

Tamiya users don't worry. Adapter is included!!!!

Overall, great gun stock. Pretty effective to 150ish feet. Like any gun you can upgrade it, but with this price point it doesn't hurt to run it out of the box until something breaks.

"I bought the AK-01 Carbine to build a game version of my Rifle Dynamics RD704, and looking at them side by side, it's amazing how well this Arcturus compares to the real steel. There's subtle differences of course, but overall it's impressive. The construction is solid and good looking, the finish is excellent on the steel receiver, and the M-Lok rail is a near duplicate to the real version. A Milspec Magpul stock fits with a little bit of wobble, which is to be expected. Included metal flash hider is aluminum, not steel, but looks decent. I bought mine along with an Arcturus 'standard switch' V3 gearbox in order to get rid of the crunchy micro switch, but now that that's replaced, I have no complaints about this gun. Looking forward to getting it on the field.

"Correction to previous review: I purchased the PSD model, not the PDW.
by John B. on 12/30/2022
"Just picked up the AK06 PDW. This is my second Arcturus and I was previously a bit UNDERwhelmed by the AK12, but this PDW is impressive and deserving of a positive review. Comes with 2 mags, one midcap, one highcap, and a strange square flash hider to replace the easily removed (no glue) orange one. Threads are 14mm negative. Has chrono results certificate, an Arcturus patch and a bunch of stickers, in a quality box and padding. Gun is stamped steel with an impressive black finish that can be buffed with a scotchbrite pad to highlight the steel construction...not paint as I had previously assumed. Everything is solid; no wobble or mystery sticky parts or lack of function on any of the externals. According to my magnet everything on the externals is steel except for the folding stock and railed aluminum handguard, which is sharp looking nevertheless and feels good in the hand. Selector is a bit stiff at first but is loosening up nicely after only a bit of use. Stock is very solid and locks solidly in both the extended and folded positions. More importantly, it's also the right length when extended, and feels natural when quickly brought up into the firing position. I've tried a couple different brands of AK74 style mags in it and they fit and feed without issues. Mine is shooting a respectable 1.4 joules out of the box and the accuracy is impressive. I can't imagine improving the accuracy with hop-up mods and I always re-build the hell out of my guns internally. Trigger is mysteriously stiff and a little hard to pull, and ROF is a little sluggish with an 11.1v lipo, but as always, this is remedied with a better motor and mosfet. Due to the unique (and roomy) gas block design on this PDW, a slim 11.1v 1100mah lipo made to fit under AK dust covers slides nicely into position on this gun. All in all, this is a sharp looking and solidly built AK that will fill that PDW niche nicely. It's impressive out of the box, and will respond nicely to some internal mods.

"Had this gun(pdw) for a couple of months now and I really do like this gun, I have no real big issues with the gun besides that the dust cover can be annoying to get on sometimes. The gun shoots very nice out of the box and to be completely honest doesn’t really need to be upgraded, the gun also comes with a rotary hop up which is really nice. I’ve also had no problems getting mags to fit in the gun, in my experience Cyma work very well. 10/10 gun I would recommend

"I’m confused I bought the gun way before I saw it was out of stock it said it was awaiting shipment only to then on the day it was supposed to arrive say it’s now a back order kinda wack but it is what it is I guess…

"This is a follow up review to our 082320 review of this product. This unit remains box stock. Well, all I can say is the Arcturus rocks. Our initial concerns simply have not taken place. At all. This unit has now fired approx. 7500 bb's ranging in size from .20 to .32. No failures. The main spring de-tentioning system works very well and is quite solid in design and fabrication. Accuracy is very good out of the box. We have run a 7.4 Lipo exclusively as we did not feel the need for the higher ROF offered by the 11.1. Additionally, it is less wear and tear on the internals. Works just fine for us. I would highly recommend this unit for the following reasons:
1. Great build quality. Very solid internals.
2. Very competitive price point.
3. Magazine compatibility with other brands like E&L, LCT etc.
4. Sold and supported by Evike.
by Tom H. on 08/23/2020
"We had some reservations prior to ordering this airsoft unit. The fact that Evike was the company selling, the research and the limited product reviews eased us into the purchase. We bought the CQB model. It arrived a few days ago. This review is only for our impressions thus far. we may post a later review, if we think this unit is worth consideration and your time to read after some usage. We noted the following:
1. Decent build quality and parts. Not a fan of alloy outer barrels, however this unit has a very short barrel and is mostly shielded/protected by the rail system. good solid weight.
2. Several internal parts look to be of E&L manufacture. Most note worthy was the motor. We have had very good luck with E&L products over the years.
3. The gear box does appear as if an ebb version is coming in the future. For some users this may be a negative as the top section is open allowing you to see the piston spring and guide. Dirt, Grime and water could quite easily enter this area of the gearbox internally. Not a good idea. I can think of several easy remedies for this concern. The spring tension release mechanism is a great idea. Hopefully it lasts.
4. Accepted all magazines and the LCT drum, with the exception of the NPOAEG AK12.

"Solid Ak platform, built like a tank and comes with so much stuff. Out of the box with no upgrades, the gun shoots pretty well. I ended up getting the ak04 PDW variant (one that has the rail on the dust cover and removable iron sights)

Pros:
Comes with 2 mags. It comes with one high-cap and one is a variable mid-cap that can be set to 120 rounds to 30 rounds for you hardcore milsimers. (honestly probably one of the best things a company can possibly do and is not common to see.)

Comes with a custom metal flash hider to replace that god awful orange tip.

Plenty of rail space out the ass other than the sides of the gun

Shot around 380 ish with .25

Buttstock is pretty comfy for me (up to preference really.

not really a pro but what I thought was cool was that they gave the person a PVC patch and a certificate of authenticity with the specific gun you bought fps test written on it.

Cons:
The dust cover was a bitch to open up the first time and unless you got a tube style battery, it was pretty hard to fit in a small 7.4v in the dust cover. (actually kinda made it expand a bit, but that's really my fault, not the guns)

Pretty heavy gun (I don't have an issue, but a child or someone who can't carry heavy things will) and could potentially tire the user out with prolong use for the day.

very mag picky (as far as I know) Most of my CYMA AK mags didn't seem like it wanted to fit, but I'd prefer Arcturus brands of mags anyways since it will feed most if not all the rounds in the mag. Also those who saw the Arcturus AK12, the AK12 style of magazines from Arcturus works and feeds perfectly as well.

not much of a con, but a preference, the detachable sights that come with the PDW variant kinda sucks, so I just threw on a different sight.

Overall I nice gun and is a pretty good contender with lct I'd say. if you want solidly built AK that won't break the bank get this gun.
by Eric R. on 03/21/2020
"Hands down, best Ak on the market right now.
Out of the box, its a solid gun with beautiful performance. Shoots like a laser with .25s and a 11.1 lipo.
If you're having doubts about this gun, just buy it over any CYMA. You wont regret it.

"I got the pdw version a while back from Nashville airsoft, and maybe a month after owning it the gear box seized up. From what I could tell it was incorrect factory shimming. The hun shot great but the mag well had a special piece on it which made it only want to accept certain mags. I was hitting players from a good distance and it seemed to work well, but had a long cycle time which meant that the spring was under pressure at times it shouldn’t have been and caused it to not want to fire right at times
