Arcturus Tactical Nylon Fiber M4 Airsoft AEG Rifle w/ M-LOK Handguard (Model: 12" Octagonal Handguard)

"Excellent rife out of the box. I've had mine (12" model) for a few months now, and ran several tests and a full day at the local field. It's been fun to shoot and comfortable to use so far, with a couple of minor drawbacks that are easily fixed.

Pros:
- Snappy trigger
- Great accuracy
- Full ambidextrous including bolt catch
- Runs .25g no problem
- Easy maintenance and access to the spring guide
- Comes with several nice extras like the blacked out flash hider, flip up sights, and patch
- Lipo ready, but limited by battery size

Cons:
- Motor seems a touch weak, but I did change grips for a lancer thumbhole stock, so it might be my motor height's fault. Still a ferrite instead of the newer neodymium available in the Sword Lite (NY06), also by Arcturus.
- The non-octagonal handguard can only accept M-Lok on the 3, 6, and 9, unfortunately no diagonals. If you want that, I think that's what the octagonal model is for.
- The stock on the non-octagonal is not a traditional airsoft crane stock. It doesn't have a battery compartment, limiting you to buffer tube sized batteries. Can be easily fixed with a new stock, or by going for the Sword Lite instead.

Overall, this rifle is a great reliable setup and is worth looking into. I plan to run it as my primary build for the foreseeable future. However, if you have the extra $10 (at the time of review) and it's in stock, you might want to go with the Sword Lite instead and get the more refined newer version.

"Amazing Starter gun! Fire select switch spin the right side is harder to push, but other than that Great Gun!

"I’ve got an Avalon and I bought my son an Arcturus. The Arcturus is about half the price of the Avalon and they shoot very similarly. Crazy fast trigger response out of the box, with the microswitch and MOSFET already installed.

My Avalon lost it’s mag retainer during the last game, and I tried to run a rental G&G. I ran it one game and went back to using my Avalon, the difference in performance was just too much to bear. I’m picking up another Arcturus to stick in my rifle case as a backup in case one of our rifles goes down again.

"Ordered before 4th of July got it within a week. Out of the box I put in an 11.1v 3000 mah Li- Ion battery with a deans connector. The battery was a tight fit for the crane stock so I will be finding a shorter one. The gun shoots great I threw a red dot on it and was able to zero it without issue. No rattling throughout the gun, gun shoots tight groups. Was able to shoot 5 inch targets at 50 meters consistently with no issue. The card it came with said it was shooting about 435 fps, went to a range and got the same. So far great gun.

"This rifle is amazing the quality is great and if you don’t have a deans battery they included a deans to tamiya adapter. Let me tell you this rifle shoots hard at around 413-416 fps. Overall this is a great high cost rifle I’ll give it a 9/10

"Like anyone else will tell you this gun has great build quality for the price. Internals barring the nozzle are metal. Accuracy and distance are nice. The con is a motor and inability to use higher batteries. I switched out my motor with a ASG CNC 22000 just fine. I got a online mosfet as well. It’s a great beginner gun.

"Very good gun built very well. within my first game though my select fire switch fell off on one side. it also isn't very accurate. there is a small amount of delay in the trigger and sometimes it doesn't fire at all. very good gun for price and last a long time. good for close range but not long range. would recommend for beginner but there are but guns for the same price and cheaper.

"Love it. Very sturdy construction, heavy weight, and it looks amazing. It comes with DEANS wiring, not small tamiya like it says, but thats a good thing. Only issue is that the stock is hard to remove, but you won't need to do that very often so its not a big deal.

"First off I wanna say this gun is very well built externally. The polymer they use is very tough. Internally compression was perfect for mine. It was also shimmed perfectly. The motor is lacking but it gets the job done. I like that the buffer tube is a screw-on instead of a castle nut. There are some downsides. It does state to only use 7.4 v lipo but I tried an 11.1v 20c lipo to see if it would hold. Didn't like it one bit so please stick to 7.4v. If you're planning to install a MOSFET don't waste your time on this gun. The gearbox is proprietary where the trigger assembly is. You can try to install one but it will take a lot of work to do so. Overall this is a great beginner and loaner gun not so for a project gun.

Pros:
-Amazing externals for the price
-Great compression and shimming out the box
-Microswitch
-Metal rotary hop-up
-Functioning ambi bolt and mag release
-Quick change spring system

Cons:
-Proprietary trigger assembly
-Motor is lacking

"PRO: Excellent quality made of nylon fiber and metal. Accurate with little adjustment of the front sight & lowering the hop-up. I was able to zero the weapon in less than 30 minutes using the same target in 20 to 25 feet.

CON: I have to use a plier to pull out the pin on the stock so it will slide back into the buffer tube after putting/removing the lipo battery stick. The pin doesn't stay flat/flush inside the stock. It needs an extra pull.

"Out of the box this gun is very nice, however when testing it out i noticed a few things. First the firing selector became loose on one side almost immediately and I tried to tighten it but in vain so I guess I'll have to just deal with that. second, at first when i tried the gun i used .20 bbs and the accuracy and range were very bad. I switched to .30 bbs and it worked much much better so if you get this gun i'd recommend .25-.30 bbs. And last of all with further testing the screw at the bottom of the handle came loose resulting in a grinding noise while firing however after I tightened it back up the gun worked fine again. Also it is worth mentioning that if you are using 11.1v lipo batteries the handle gets very hot if you shoot a lot in simi or if you use full auto too much.
All things aside this gun performed very well, the range and accuracy are very good and the overall build quality is very good as well.

"Fantastic gun. It matches up with my krytac LVOA-S. If you're looking to make a RECCE rifle build this is the gun. Only complaint is that the gearbox rides a bit low so you're gonna have to give a little hard tap to lock in but everything else is great. I bought the 12inch hand guard model with the 14.5in barrel. I would recommend a 150mm suppressor to put on so you can fit a 510mm inner barrel. Basically a DMR with a 5.56 AR platform. Just keep in mind that you're gonna have to give a hard tap for the mags to lock in but it isn't that bad. Everything can be fixed with a little sand paper or just practice with that flaw.
by Peter B. on 08/03/2020
"The gun is wonderful, but the mag release was loose so the mag would not lock in unless you slam the mag in. Also they sent me a low cap mag, not a high cap. The maximum I could put In was 90 bbs. So they couldn't even send me a actual 120 round midcap.

"didn’t come with hi cap mag
by Peter B. on 04/12/2021
"It was a good gun for the first few months, but after that the gun just stopped shooting. Also the mag release was finicky.
