EMG Platinum Complete Version 2 Gearbox w/ Motor for M4/M16 Airsoft AEG (Model: Rear Wired)

"For the price this thing is unbeatable. I put this in my m4 with a ASG infinity boost 30k motor and also changed the nozzle to a Maxx O-ring nozzle, and I'm getting 30+ rps. Just know with high rps comes other issues too so. When I first got it I tried a 9.6v nimh but it would only fire 18 shots in semi because it was underpowered. However it works just fine with an 11.1v lipo. You can't really spam semi super-fast cuz it's an electronic trigger so I would recommend upgrading to an optical trigger with a mosfet built in. And even though I said you can't spam semi very fast, with my build when I spam semi it is still fast enough to not want to feed all the time, so if you have this issue try a different nozzle length and or different hop up and bucking.

"Bought this as a drop-in replacement for an ancient MP5 made by who-knows inc. Fit great and worked straight away. The magnets in that motor are very strong so watch your metal objects.

Didn’t like the spade connectors for the motor as they’re very high profile. Think I’m going to replace them. Wires are stiff but stay where you put them.

Very happy. Would buy again.

"This is amazing. The only adjustment I made was adding a Perun V2 Mosfet and this thing is just a beast. This was dropped into my dying AEG and instantly brought it to a better state than it was brand new. This gearbox also sounds great, I have opponents commenting that it sounds like an HPA with how snappy it is. 10/10 recommend.

"I picked this up as a drop-in replacement for a complete M4 rebuild. Installation was easy. I'm currently using a KWA motor (not sure of the specs) however, the CYMA motor that came with it has some incredibly strong magnets in it. I tested the cyclic rate on both 2s and 3s, both were very responsive (3s on full auto is wild).

I haven't had an opportunity to field test the unit yet but from cursory testing I am hopeful.

For the money I would say this is well worth the investment.

"This is a very good gearbox. If you want an upgrade over your stock V2 gearbox that will last a long time, this is a very good option. It is not mind blowing or anything but nothing is for this price point.

This is the CYMA Platinum gearbox. It says EMG all over it but we all know the truth. Everyone should know by now that the CYMA platinum airsoft guns are some of the best affordable out-of-the-box guns on the market. With that said the quality you are getting here is very good. The only thing I had to do was a very minor re-shim and AOE correction. Compression was perfect as is. The motor included is a High Torque CYMA and it is an improvement over stock. I also replaced the CYMA MOSFET for a Perun V2 Hybrid only because I run Perun in everything.

The ROF and trigger response with the included spring and motor was very good even on a 7.4v Li-Po. It defiantly performs like an upgraded gearbox should.

This gearbox has high quality parts through out and required minimal effort to get it running flawlessly. $130 is more or less what it would cost to build a gearbox of similar quality so just save yourself the head ache and buy this one pre-assembled.

"Gearbox and motor are easy to install. The Motor speed is amazing. Not specified but 40K motor I would say. Only downside is that the Dean connectors are soldered onto the wiring. You really cant feed it through the but stock without cutting them off and resolder.

Haven't checked the FPS yet but seems to be OK

"Although the price is a little high for this gearbox, it stays true to the specifications detailed on evike. This gearbox has very nice pre upgraded internals by CNC, and has a snappy trigger. WARNING if you are purchasing this with the hope it comes with a Tamiya connection, it doesn’t. It comes with a deans connection allowing you to run lipo batteries. I would recommend upgrading the motor it comes with, to a ASG Infinity 30k motor. Also don’t confuse this gearbox with the CYMA Sport V2 gearbox as the gears, piston heads, etc are upgraded and overall better. That being said if you were to purchase the sport one and upgraded it, you save $20~.
Be in mind this trigger will burnout without a gate.

Overall great purchase and would recommend.

"These gearbox performs better than a krytac out of the box for a fraction of the price and comes with a high speed motor and is easy to drop in!!! user be warned, the CYMA proprietary mosfet's trigger contacts like to burn out with semi auto trigger spam so try not to spam it, even though it'll make you want to due to the insane trigger response. I will update this review in couple of months and see if this particular model's mosfet has held up and I will be using 7.4v liPo with a 20c discharge. DO NOT USE 11.1V LiPo as it will proceed to melt the mosfet with even more insane trigger response.
