" Heavier than expected, very solid and sturdy build. I purchased the full stock version, and I am more than happy with this gun. It's very good for the price and it's fun to mess around with when you're bored. The shell cycle is smooth and very well mechanically planned and made. The gun is very solid; its slightly heavy and sturdy, it has some metal components and the polymer plastic is very sturdy and exceptional for feel. The description of this gun is very realistic and truthful. The gun loads realistically, it is much high quality, and all the specifications are correct. There is only one issue I've had with this build and it's the fact that if you don't put enough force into cycling the gun, sometimes the shell will get jammed and you have to push it back into the chamber and re-cycle the action to eject the jammed shell. But an overall 9-10 from me.
" Fun to mess around with! Evike get more shell ejecting non-airsoft toy guns!
I bought it so I can do a lot of load and unloading practices. Shot it once with the provided darts -- some work good some don't. Didn't really care for that but the shell ejecting is really fun to mess about with. There are issues that you can remedy on your own if you have feeding issues. Overall very happy with it -- thought I would be losing $50 but ended up being pretty good. This thing should be $30-40. The only negative is that the faux side-charging handle is dinky and looks like it can break at any moment.
Fixes/Modifications done to ensure smooth operation:
1. Sand the provided cartridges just a little bit. So that they don't get hung up on anything.
2. Twist the magazine tube off and check the roundness of the tube. The one I received was not perfectly round so the shells would get caught and never leave the magazine tube.
3. Stretch the spring a little. The last shell did not come out due to the spring being a bit weak, stretched the spring out a little and increased the tension.
" If you're looking for a practical gun to win Nerf wars with - don't get this, but you could easily say the same about an APS shell ejecting CAM870 either for Airsoft skirmishes.
This thing is FUN. And for the price Evike has it at (compared to the upcharge Amazon sellers have or overseas shipping times), it's essentially a budget alternative to the CAM870 or other shell ejecting Airsoft shotguns if you want something that has a realistic pump shotgun action.
I'm surprised by the weight and build quality. It's not what I'd call solid (it's still a a toy after all), but it's about the same as the OG Double Eagle/UTG clone tri-shot shotguns made of plastic, it's probably based off the same mold too (note I got the full stock version, can't comment how solid the M1014 style retracting stock is.
The shell loading mechanism is solid, though it does jam up sometimes. It's a really satisfying/fun thing to play with, even without shooting any darts. Too bad Evike doesn't sell any extra shell packs for this - I've ordered a few sets off Ebay already to remedy this.
TLDR: If you want a fun toy to recreate shotgun reloads from video games, or to practice competition quad-loading, this is a solid option. Coop772 may dig into this for being a sucky dart launcher, which it is, but that's the wrong way to look at it IMO. Think of it as a toy 1:1 shotgun with a realistic feeding mechanism that so happens to toss foam darts a couple dozen feet.
