EMG x Retro Arms CNC Machined Aluminum Hop-Up Unit for AK Series Airsoft AEGs (Color: EMG Blue)

"This hopup unit is amazing, it’s very sturdy and the bar maintains its position even after long use, contrary to the standard plastic v3 hopup. Not only that, but putting the nub into this unit is as easy as 1,2,3. I put this in my LCT Ak12 as a replacement to go with the Arcturus PE gearbox I slapped in there (also highly recommend). This hopup absolutely flings .30bbs upwards of 200 feet. This hopup is definitely worth the purchase if you’re looking to upgrade your Ak airsoft rifle.

"The hop is indeed up on the particular device.

"This is a well-made, precisely machined hopup unit. It required no fitting, sanding, or dremeling of any kind to install into my LCT LCK104. The only thing I wasn't 100% satisfied with was that the screw that holds this hopup unit to the gearbox wouldn't thread all the way in. Not a big deal at all though as it's still held solidly in place, it just looks kinda funny. Just to be clear, this is solely an aesthetic issue, not a functional issue. I tried Prometheus Purple, G&G Green, and Madbull Blue hop up buckings. While they all fit, the Madbull was a substantially tighter fit than the rest, and I had to use some white lithium grease as a lubricant to ease the bucking into place. I recommend the Prometheus Purple and the G&G Green buckings as they slid in easier, while still providing a perfect air seal. I had no feeding issues using G&P AK74 mags and BLS biodegradable .32 gram bbs.

"This unit is literally the same as the regular retro arms unit. They are superb units, and the blue anodized one looks amazing. I bought it because I was in the market for a new hop up unit for my E&L ak 74 and this one happened to be the same color as my retro arms blue anodized aluminum trigger. This hopup requires no modification to fit into an E&L but will not fit a CYMA ak out of the box. I can't speak for LCT ak's. Overall the unit helped me hit 400 fps with less than a 2 fps margin of error in either direction with a G&G green bucking and angel custom 6.01mm inner barrel. As far as ak's go this is the best hopup you can get

"It is an excellent hop up, very good quality and very solid.
I bought it for my E&L AK74U (I'm going to comment on something so you can avoid having problems. E&L AKs use a long nozzle. For this hop up you will need to change the nozzle or it will not feed. You need a 19.65mm nozzle (I measured that with my caliper and with that I have no air leaks and it feeds perfectly.)
(I recommend the adjustable nozzle from Maxx or similar so that Caliper can get the exact measurement)
I combined this hop up with a 4uantum bucking and a ZCl 6.02 285mm barrel and it goes 10/10

"This was put in my CYMA040D AK-105.

The piece has some ingenious features that end up interfering with other parts.
First of all, one of the screws for this is supposed to attach to the front small screw of the V3 gearbox. It's really nice, but I must warn you that this might not fit if your gearbox shell is wider than the box.

- The boxy shape of the hop up and the lever interferes with the mock dust cover. The action went from smooth to very chunky; and my dust cover is now rubbing on the metal and plastic part of the hop up.

- One of the hop up assembly involved hammering a very thin plastic dowel into a metal hole. I bent that darn pin like twice before I got it to fit, and I fear that it might screw with the hop up system.

"Did not fit in my E&L Essential AKMS nor Gen 2. It seems to be a well made hop up unit however.

"Does not fit into JG AK. The dimensions on the outer barrel were the hop up is supposed to sit is WAY to small for this hop champer. Excessive material needs to taken away from the outer barrel slot as well is the hop chamber itself. Not sure what barrel spec EMG was using when developing this chamber but it's too big for JGs.
