About EMG The EMG vision is to manufacture products the world has never seen before; products we would put our name on, and products that hit the spot! "EMG" (Evike Manufacturing Group) was spawned from the realization that if you want something done exactly the way you want it, you need to do it yourself, and we did just that. We took our 16 years of knowledge as the market's lead retailer, our network of 300+ superior manufacturers, to work with inspiring top innovators in the firearms industry. That combined with the vision to invest into the Airsoft industry, an industry we believe in, EMG was born.
About Taran Tactical Innovations Taran Butler was born in Hollywood and grew up in Southern California on a horse ranch watching cowboy western films and shooting single-action revolvers and lever-action rifles at cans with his brother. His first taste of competitive shooting took place at a local indoor event with a Glock-24 borrowed by legendary stuntman Bruce Barber (The truck driver from First Blood with the m60 in the back of the truck ). He shot his first Southwest Pistol League match in January 1995 placing 7th out of 118 shooters. He went from unclassified to Grandmaster in just a little over a year and was the first person in USPSA history to do so using a Glock. Over the years, Taran has gone on to win 23 consecutive South West Pistol League Championships in the open and limited division. For his excellence, he was honored with the covetous title of Combat Master; A title only held by 18 other legendary shooters such as Jeff Cooper ( First Ever Combat Master), Ray Chapman, Mickey Fowler, and Mike Dalton. He has won major pistol championships in USPSA Open, Limited, Limited 10, Production, and Single Stack divisions. He has won IDPA National titles, Steel Challenge World Championships, and IPSC World Shoot Gold Medals in countries around the world. Taran is the first ever USPSA Multigun National Tactical Champion. He is considered one of the most versatile shooters in the world. He is also the first and only USPSA Multigun Triple Crown National Champion by winning the Limited, Tactical, and Open Divisions. He has won the SSM 3-G Championship for eleven years in row; the longest winning streak in 3-gun competition history. Taran is the only person to every win the Arizona Triple Crown by winning the Western States Single Stack Championship, SSM 3-G Championship, and Area 2 in Limited and Open divisions in the same year. He has won all three of these matches, three years in a row. Taran won the Ft Benning Open Championship against the best Open Division shooters in the world. Taran has trained movie producers, directors and actors including James Cameron, Michael Mann, Keanu Reeves, Shemar Moore, Michael B Jordan, Jennifer Garner, Collin Farrell, Chris Hemsworth, and Josh Duhamel. Taran has worked on location or hosted movie training at his 20 acre range for many films including Public Enemies, Miami Vice, Transformers, The Kingdom, Avatar, and Savages. " i love the look of this slide its comes with the slide the outer barrel the sights the mounting screws for a red dot and o rings and an o ring for the recoil spring completely disassembled its light weight and strong and very high quality except the 'paint" or whatever is making the barrel gold and the slide black after only 75-100 shots MAX the barrel and slide started to become the bare metal not bad very slightly but i expected to at least get 250-300 before i started to see wear especially for almost $200 other than that my favorite slide other than the ark17 but its always out of stock
if you wanna see my build my YT- https://www.youtube.com/@Optic1xTM
" I love this slide, it gets quite a few looks when I bring my glock out and overall really helps it to stand out from all the other common glock 17's that I see around here.
I personally went for the black, and other matching gold accents on my pistol and I have to day the slide ties the look together.
I only give 4 stars for the same reason Kris V did on his review. The absolutely horrendous mounting hardware. To be honest, don't even bother with the included screws. Most optics that I could find did not want to line up, or where so thick on the mounting the included screws were too short.
The screws are M2.5 machine thread, I ended up using 6mm long screws with a small washer. 4mm might work as well if the mounting base on your optic is thinner.
Overall a good purchase, but for almost 200 I expect to have halfway decent screws for mounting.
Ending thoughts, I'm glad I made the purchase and would gladly do it again.
" Cool looking and seemingly well-made slide unfortunately paired with a bunch of cheap parts.
Look, if you're paying this much for just a slide as opposed to a whole gun I don't expect a bunch of corners being cut. However they decided to pair this CNC Aluminum slide with extremely cheap parts. The optic plate is of a low-quality plastic as is the recoil spring guide. The tolerances on the two-piece recoil spring guide don't seem very good so sometimes the slide gets stuck when reattaching it.
"Okay, but I don't mind the spring guide being plastic and I'm going to put an optic on it anyway so I don't need the optic plate anyway." Well, the way the screw holes are drilled into the slide is a little nuts. They aren't your standard RMR screws instead requiring some special M2 to M3 screws to allow you to attach an RMR optic. And the included screws are absolutely cheap. I snapped one in half attaching an RMR with just a normal allen key. Real optics are supposed to be torqued MUCH tougher than the snug hand-tightening I was going for so it was pretty ridiculous when it snapped and jammed the screw hole. Now I have to drill out the broken screw and re-tap the hole.
Honestly for the amount of money you pay for this thing I wasn't expecting such shoddy parts to be included. The slide is great. They should've just paired it with equally great parts.
