Features Metal mount base and polycarbonate construction Lens protector sits on a 30 degree angle, providing a more shatter-resistant strike area Designed to provide protection for a wide variety of optics Integrated quick release knob Fits all 20mm / weaver / picatinny / accessory rails Compatible with most risers and adapters Unique "Fighter HUD" print on protector to give your gun a cool flair! The Laylax HUD type sight protector "Aegis" is an angled shield used to protect your red dot, magnified optic, or scope. The angled design better helps to deflect the power of the bb hitting the shield, keeping your sight safe. The "glass" on the shield is a strong, thin piece of acrylic to ensure its light weight with a fair amount of flexibility to take impact. An added bonus is that it features a "HUD" or Heads Up Display style like you would see on a fighter jet printed on it.

" I like the way it looks but it is a little overpriced for what it is I think. A couple of things, it can only get on the pic rail from sliding on from an end. That means if I already have items on and don’t want to take them off you have to. The best way I was able to get it on was from listening the guard completely and sliding it on that way. Seeing how the red dot should be on the upper receiver end anyways. Some designs on real steel I would say something like this should have more of a clamp system once you loosen the screw.
Then once it was on it was wiggles easily forward and back wards. The screw doesn’t prevent this at all. So it will stay on but front and back has some play.
Beyond that and this is where I am unclear, the numbers and lines on it are only for people looking at it? No real practical use from the red dot side (as far as the numbers go, they are all reversed). That being said the lines may serve some practical use. Surprisingly the red dot I took off my actual AR and put on my M4 does seem to be centered on the center dot on this guard so that’s nice. I got the large version.
So all and all it looks nice. And I would gladly pay 10 or 15 dollars for this. Because the only real purpose is to protect the red dot lense.
" So since it's polycarbonate and angled at that. It will be more durable and offer greater protection than the cheap acrylic ones. However, it wobbles on the rail like it's going out of style, and it's impossible to tighten this protector enough to prevent it.
