"My friend owns this gun and I owned the ICS O.A. M4A1 RIS and he lets me use it whenever I want, and stock this gun is one of the best I have used. It's accurate, has a respectable ROF, shoots just hard enough for the competitions I go to, and is one of the most durrable airsoft guns I have used. Externally, it's very pleasing to the eye, all metal, dense plastic on the grip, motor grip, and stock, and the rest is all metal. Detailed enough that it looks good, but doesn't cut into cost for those looks, so you save that little bit of money on that. Put an M203 and the heat shield for it on this and you have one sexy beast.
Internally.... wow. That's all I can say if asked about it, this has to be one of the easiest, if not THE easiest gun I have worked on including an ICS O.A. M4A1, CA G36, JG G36, Dboy M4A1, JG M14, and a G&G Soc16. All of those guns have a standard gearbox, and are a complete PITA to work on, where as the Olympic Arms have a unique, but absolutely awesome 2-piece setup that makes any sort of work so much easier. The upper reciever houses the Tappet plate, piston, cylinder, spring, etc, while the lower reciever holds the gears, selector switch, and trigger mech, along with the motor of course. This alone makes this gun worth the money, but only if you plan to work on it, if you're just into small skirmishes, and nothing too terribly serious, or if you're not too sure if airsoft is for you, or if you want to save money, then I wouldn't recommend this gun. However, if you know airsoft is your kind of sport, you love the game, and have some cash to dump into a nice, reliable gun, then I would always point towards the Olympic Arms M4/M16 series guns; these aren't just a purchase, but an investment in performance and excelence.

"great gun it shoots fast and hard the magazine is good but it is a little lose not a problem just buy another high cap or like i did i bought some good mid caps and they work the best great feed and light and not to mention very quiet and you can keep shooting without turning the wheel but you have less ammo. anyways that's your decision. all in all a great gun the price is a little competitive but like they say you get what you pay for. all metal and a full metal 2 piece gear box. the gear box is great to work on if you get a simple jam just take it out nice nice and your good to go. the nice thing about this weapon is the huge battery compartment so you can hold a massive battery for long play and ROF. the stock and foregrip are plastic, abs plastic to be specific that means it a high grade. dont be turned away because of the plastic parts they will hold up for a while. another long life maintenance saving thing is the push button spring release this you should press after play or before storage you press the button and it releases the pressure on the spring which results in longer spring and gearbox life. a great feature from ics. the sighs are fully adjustable also it has the removable carrying handle for a scope or laser anything will do. the flash hider is removable so you can put a barrel extender or silencer on it. this is a great gun you will be satisfied great for experienced players and intermediates not so good for beginners however but its a awesome gun must have for your armory.

"great gun, except the outer barrel wobbles. keep it tight where there are the 3 small screws in the middle of the outer barrel. easy upgrades, assembly, and work. nice feel and the tension release with the button on the right side of the gun is excellent, no more firing one off in semi to release it. excellent motor also. only problems ive had are with the fuse, or more like fuses, but i soldered the leads together and no more problems because no more fuse. overall excellent beginner gun while stock with so much potential.

"Excellent rifle. I was a bit skeptical on buying it, for I had some shaky beliefs in ICS after I had used one of their MP5's, but all around this rifle is great. I pulled it out of the box, put on a bipod, and held it in my hands for a while. It was the nicest body I've ever felt. Solid, metal construction, just great (I do recommend a new top/front half body, this one is a bit plastic and very difficult if you attempt to mount a bipod or a flashlight) but the M16 did come with a top rail for mounting a scope or carrying handle. I cannot emphasize how great the lower metal body felt in my hands. A solid stock, great finish, cool trademarks. loved it 100% recommended.
Cons:
Magazine is very, very wobbly. if that bugs you, then i would recommend purchasing either electric tape or teflon tape and fixing the wobble problem.
Top/front half feels like solid plastic. I did not like it one bit. If you bought a new front kit, I got an RIS 18.5" kit, then it is excellent.
It is a bit hard to fit a 9.6 volt battery in the stock, but, then again, that is difficult on almost every gun around.
Pros:
Solid metal construction. Excellent body, great stock, feels very heavy and real in your hands.
Hi-cap magazine. Great, I'd say 400-600 rounds.
SO SO SO easy to upgrade. All you have to do is pop out 2 very basic pins, then the top half just slides off! after the top half is separate, all you have to do is slide out the gearbox top half and then the barrel with the hop-up unit also slides right out. very easy to upgrade.
Low-resistance wire with ICS is excellent. also the motor and gears that it comes with is definitely worth the extra money. I decided to put an m130 spring in my M16, so i just slid out the gearbox, put it in, no problem. the motor still pulls it at the same rate! the gears also have the torque to pull it. if you ever want to upgrade, ICS definitely saves you in the long run.
An all around excellent gun. i LOVE this gun, and it hasn't failed me yet.

"I bought this Rifle last year and I have had a great time using it. I modded and upgraded it. They are a nice model and I like how they took the forward assist and turned that into the spring release. I wish it had a slide lock to make it easier to mess with the hop up. You have to barry the stock in your hip and pull the charging handle back to set it. I recommend upgrading the reciever pins right off the bat.
There just milled pieces of metal that wear down sooooo fast. After opening the reciever two times it started getting loose. Another recommend upgrade is to change out the hop up wheel. The stock version is just a cut piece of rubber tube. Litterally does nothing. I bought the Mad bull bucking with the hop up wheel. It incressed the distance on the rifle dramatically. It's a really nice addition to anyones airsoft arsenal.

"This is still one of my favorite guns in my collection, I bought it a few years ago, and have made many mods and upgrades, the split gearbox is the greatest feature on this gun, if you change the rear receiver pin to an allenhead screw type, you can take out the rear pin, and the gun will open like the real M-16 and you can slide out your upper gearbox and change it out with another in seconds. Allowing to change out your FPS for indoor and outdoor in seconds with just one screw.

"Ive been using this gun for about three years now and has been working great for me. The first one i ordered leaked CO2 from a cross thread in the mag. I sent it back and got a brand new one back for free. Since then Ive had no problems. The kick tends to be a little much for some people but after using it for a few games its not to bad. Due to the fact that it has blowback it is TERRIBLE in the cold. The slide does not have enough power to cock back by itself but does work if you manually pull it back. You have to take the good with the bad in the cold but if you can my advice would be leave it at home. It has very good trigger response and is very useful when clearing buildings. It eats up CO2 pretty fast so if you need to take more then 39 shots with your pistol this isn't the gun for you. It takes about 3 mins to reload because you need to swap CO2 about every clip. In the end id give it about a 4.5 out 5, pretty good gun if you get used to using it.
