"This was the first time I really understood the phrase "buy once cry once." I still haven't financially recovered from this but I do not care because this gun has been my go to for the past few months- above all of my AEGs. This was my first gas rifle and it was in stock at a local store (I did not buy it on Evike) and I finally decided to get it after a couple of weeks of consideration between this and VFC ARs. I do want to get a (probably several) VFC at some point, but for a newbie to GBBRs this thing has been absolutely perfect. I have had absolutely no issues with it at all. The only part change I did was the nozzle return spring to make sure it doesn't fail while using green gas. Otherwise mine is completely stock internally. Like I said, I've been using it for months at this point, and I even neglected to maintain it for a bit (oops) and it still ran without issue. I have since made sure to clean it, but either way this thing is insanely good and reliable (and definitely more fun than any of my AEGs).
Pros:
- Gas blowback (very fun)
- Really good gas efficiency (I mainly use Guns Modify PMAGs which I've heard lots of complaints about but so far mine have been totally fine and even better in some cases than the included TM STANAG (both work great though))
- Aftermarket support is vast
- The TM magic inside utilizes a system very different from that of an actual AR, but it also makes for an incredibly reliable and consistent airsoft firing mechanism
- The build quality is great. I'm not specifically sure what metals they use but I've heard that they're pot metal. But, unlike cheaply made pot metal guns, Tokyo Marui works around the materials they use to still provide a solid feeling rifle. I have dropped this thing and it it totally fine.
Neutral
- Can accept real stocks and grips, otherwise TM spec parts required without major modifications (this can be neutral or bad depending on your needs, but I've been able to get all the parts I want for mine without issue). And, to be clear, this refers to the basic parts of the gun itself, not rail-mounted attachments before anyone asks. Yes, you can put the world's worst red dot on this, but please don't.
- Slight receiver wobble. Neutral because it's a bit annoying if you really focus on it, but real ARs often have worse wobble so it's ultimately a non-issue.
Cons
- PRICE. You get what you pay for and this thing will probably outlast anyone reading this, but it is definitely a painful investment (at least until you get to shoot it, then you'll feel better). Though, with the parts required to make other GBBRs as reliable as this one is out of the box, the cost probably isn't too far off from any other GBBR.
- Realism. Again, this isn't strictly a huge deal, but if you're looking to get a gun that faithfully recreates the internals of a real AR, this is not that. The receivers split and you can remove the bolt carrier group and charging handle like on a real AR, but the actual firing mechanism is solely designed to be an efficient airsoft system. There is no visible hammer like on a real AR. Not a huge deal for me (especially since I do want to get a VFC at some point), but if that level of realism is important to you then I'd recommend going with a VFC AR.
Overall, this gun is insanely good. It'll hurt to buy it, but the second you get it in your hands will make you realize it was worth it. If you're looking at this, get it. It's worth every penny whether you're new to gas rifles or experienced with them.

"Took this to a Milsim event and performed exceptionally well out of the box all weekend long. Firearm finish is fantastic the rifle feels very solid and holds up very well. Added a few attachments to personalize it but other than that it was completely out of the box new. The bolt was even lubed well enough I didn’t have to apply any more. Fired around 500 rounds throughout the weekend and Accuracy was great with every shot. I had high expectations for this rifle especially with this price tag and Tokyo Marui definitely delivered. I am very happy with this weapon and would recommend it to anyone interested in a MK18 GBBR

"Was able to snag one of these from overseas last November and play a couple games with it. It's the exact same thing as the standard MWS that's been sold before, which means amazing performance out of the box. Only difference is you're paying for a nice DD Mk18 rail. I've run it completely stock on propane, with the only internal upgrade being a new hop-up nub. I've been told to grab an spare nozzle spring, as that's one of the few things to fail when running on propane/green gas, but mine hasn't gotten to that point yet. When I play indoors I switch to duster gas, because on propane I was hitting about 330. For those worried about low FPS, you could always put a longer inner barrel. All MWS come stock with the the same length inner barrel.
If you plan on keeping the original Mk18 rails and not changing anything internally, I highly recommend it. If you want to change out the rails and upgrade internals (in the upper receiver), I'd say save your money and get one of the cheaper variants. TM used a proprietary method of attaching the Daniel Defense rail, so it doesn't install like a regular DD rail. There's an additional barrel nut locking the rail to the barrel, which fastened by loctite. You'd need clamp it down, apply a ton of heat with a heatgun and get special tool to get the barrel nut off. I recommend the TACTICOOL22 M&P 15-22 BARREL NUT WRENCH. There may also be threadlock on the screws holding the gas block in place. After playing with a very temperamental upgraded WE M4 gbbr for almost a decade, the TM ran circles around it out the box. If you got the money to spend, go for it.
Pros:
-Great accuracy and range out of the box
-Extremely reliable. Can full auto no-problem, but if you're playing with a GBBR, you shouldn't be full autoing anyway
-ZET system guarantees bolt lock when magazine is empty
-Can run on propane/green gas and duster
-Excellent gas efficiency
Cons:
-Mags are expensive and go out of stock often
-Mags are low-capacity (35). This is a positive for me, coming from 30 round mags
-Rails are very difficult to remove and require special tools
-Expensive

"This gun is sweet! I have owned it for about 2 years and fielded it about 5 times. At first I was having problems with feeding issues (could have been user) after sorting out the little kinks the gun is solid! It kicks hard and it shoots fast. Trigger is great and it catches eyes everywhere it goes. When I chrono the gun. It was shooting about 328fps. I fielded it last week on a 73 degree day, it was shooting 438fps consistently, a little too hot for a standard rifle so I had to play with DMR rules. It’s accurate and immersive to play with. Some cons of this rifle is loading the magazine with BBs, such a pain until I bought this adapter for the mags and it’s 1000% easier to load. The mags are super expensive and were spewing a lot of gas; to remedy the problem, I placed mad bull fill O rings and she fills nicely without wasting any kind of gas. In warmer weather the mags usually last just one magazine worth of BB’s mag dumping. In semi, I get about 2 mags worth. In cooler weather that increases. Didn’t have any issues with the rifle. I was disappointed that I had to buy extra things to make this rifle more enjoyable to run but I got over it pretty quick after seeing results. Overall, this rifle is NOT a beginners rifle so keep in mind if you are newer to the GBBR line, there is a big learning curve. But simple enough to get used to. I find that adding useless attachments to the rifle just makes it heavier and results with less felt recoil which can be a pro for some but a con to me. The rifle itself is already hefty and can be tiring when playing for hours in a day. Lube her good and she will treat you well. The gun still looks brand new since I’ve been fielding it and TM did a really good job on the details of the rifle. It’s a little bit expensive than what I was looking to buy but boy am I happy I spent the extra! Enough said.
