Also as a note, the spring guide is thick. The VSR 10 replacement spring that I got would not fit due to the diameter diference.

Overall I am very happy with this rifle and its potential. In its stock form it barely outranges AEGs, but due to the nice hop up system, you can use heavy ammo and that gives you a brutal advantage in windy days.

"After a full day's use of this finely crafted tool, I must say that it is what a sniper rifle should be right out of the box... especially when it costs $600. I used Valken .4 bbs and it did not disappoint. I enjoyed the gun and it's consistency. I've put rifles together that cost well more than this and this does the job quite fine, I'd say.

The bolt pull is smooth, trigger action is nice, it is a little heavy, but not to bad. the only con is the mag cover. this is a VSR10. it is a well put together VSR10. upgrade it if you want, but you're probably not going to get much more out of it unless you put a lot more money into it. For what it is, it is great.

"First of all this isn't just a pot metal vsr10 in a fancy stock..

The gun is heavy so if your a younger player you may struggle with the weight even on this short model.

The gun is built far better then any vsr I've used before including a TM (metal isn't near as soft)

The gun is fully upgraded out of the box and with a spring swap to get it to your field limits your set.

The way the rail and chassis connects is super solid and there is a bolt that goes into the outer barrel with insures absolutely no outer barrel wobble whatsoever.

All in all this is a extremely well equipped and built gun for the money.

Everything is vsr compatible just keep I'm mind that the spring guide and spring are 13mm aps style instead of the traditional vsr (can easily be swapped out for traditional vsr spring guide and spring if you want)

As far as magazine swaps go at first it's a little bit of a hassle but after a few games you pay no mind to having to take off the cover since it pops off so easy.

"Man, I wanted to like this gun so much! It has such great looks in a market starved of ultra-modern BASR styles. The pros of this gun are its looks and, on paper, great internals. Unfortunately, it really goes to waste due to a couple really bad design choices.

1. First of all, hop up adjustment. It has a TDC, which is great, but the screw is hidden under what feels like a mile of metal. Mine did not come with an adjustment tool, which For $600 and such an awkward placement, you might expect it to. This shouldn’t have been a big deal, as I rarely readjust my hop up once I find the sweet spot. It’s just hard not to be more critical towards these things when something is priced the way it is.

2. Mag placement. It’s a vsr, so the mag is in the usual spot. I have no problem with this. Unfortunately, ASG hid this under the hand guard. While this looks cool, mag changes are far from seamless. Removing the hand guard to change mags on mine was actually laughably difficult. With the button fully depressed it would not slide off without considerable force. ASG does make hi-cap VSR mags for this bad boy that they hope will negate the need to frequently change mags. Fair enough, but it seems like at this price range there could, and should, have been a better solution.

3. Build quality. Unfortunately, it’s not as high as you or I would like. Mine creaked, the non metal components had too much flex. And while this is NOT necessarily a build quality issue, the spring this thing leaves the factory with is so poor that it rattles like crazy when you take a shot. It gives off the impression that this is a cheaper gun.

4. The cylinder. ASG sold an upgraded cylinder for this with more air capacity. Once again, for the price, this should have been included.

5. Consistency. Mine ultimately didn’t really work. I returned it believing it was defective, and perhaps it was, but I have encountered a few in the wild since then and they all appeared to have the same issues as mine did.

In conclusion, this is an over engineered VSR-10. It looks VERY cool, but that’s about it. I’m sure its short comings can all be made up for and, just like any VSR based rifle, it CAN be a great performer. The problem is that it is priced in such a way where there is just really no reason to buy it. The competition just mops the floor with it. I’m sure this bad boy was way to expensive to produce for this, but it would sit more comfortably in the $200-ish price range.

Rating this 3/5. I’m sure this seems high based on my review, but here is the thing: At the rifles core it is a VSR-10 in a cool but highly unwieldy package. If your heart is set on it, you can make it work. Good luck!
