"I don't think Tokyo Marui needs a performance review, we know how TMs work. So let me just drop a few pieces of information about Evike's offering of this timeless classic.
I received the gun in perfect condition. There's no orange paint on the barrel or slide, and the trademarks are fully restorable by simply peeling off tape. I was even able to restore the original box by carefully peeling the tape off. I couldn't be more happy with the way Evike handled this beauty. Some retailers do some terrible things to this gun, to sell it in the US. Evike preserved this gun in all it's glory.
Also, a little reminder for new buyers, Tokyo Marui GBBs are designed to use 134a gas. Do some research on this before making your decision. It lowers FPS, but puts less wear on your gun, and can be cheaper than green gas. I prefer it, personally.
Don't be fooled by other M1911A1s that are cheaper but metal, or put off by TM's low FPS, this is simply the best M1911A1 out there.

"Great gun, TM REALY out did themselves on this one. Great feel, great finish, and great full trades. Thank you evike for shipping mine so quickly and with a bit of orange tape on the barrel instead of paint. The only problem are the sights are to low, but that is being true to the real 1911.

"The P226, capa series, G17 3rd gen, 1911 variants are all great guns.
Try all of them, then pick what fits you the best, in terms of ergonomics and such.

"Don't get either. Get the SigSauer 226 from TM!! I have had all 3 and like it the best. The Desert Eagle really is too big for tactical running and rolling, diving, all that... But out of the 2 I would say get the 1911. Marui has perfected the 1911 with this piece. Love it!

"I am in a really stressfull situation,I dont know what sidearm to choose from.Either this or a TM Desert Eagle.I really need a recomendation!

"This is THE perfect side arm for WW2, vietnam, korean war, and unconventional loadouts, or just 1911 users. The performance is the usual marui standard (read: awesome) and really needs no upgrading. The velocity on almost all the examples I've seen were always 300+ on green gas. This power does not sacrifice accuracy or range either. The 1911 is a tackdriver at 100 feet easily, and the BB will fly far past that, maybe 250 or so. This is due to TM's excellent hop up design, and it doesn't slip easily or require loosening of screws. Externally, the gun has no seams, the grips have an interesting texture, almost like rubber. Weights in the grips make the gun heavy and balanced without weighting the mags significantly. The controls are all natural, and the gun sits very comfortably in your hand. The crisp, single action trigger is comfortable and allows for accurate, rapid fire. There is a plethora of upgrades, both internally and externally. to cut the review short, there are few drawbacks:
The mag has a low gas capacity, so you will have to load less rounds to get the slide to lock back
The sights are miserable and hard to aim with, although this is authentic to the 1911A1
The body is plastic, although this does mean it is more gas efficient, has an easily removable orange tip ( :D ) and full trademarks

"My favorite gas pistol of all time. All the ergonomics of the a RS M1911 with the reliability of TM internals. It has excellent range and an even better recoil: strong and crisp.
With a plethora of upgrades, external and internal, it should be the defacto choice for all airsoft players needing a sidearm.
