Matrix MICH 2002 Replica Airsoft Helmet (Color: Black)

"Receieved this helmet and... oh my. It is by far my favorite helmet ever.

There is a lot of padding on the inside, so its pretty tight and comfy, but of course its held on velcro so you can adjust it to what you want. The chin strap and buckles seem to be made of cheap materials, so be careful when adjusting that you dont apply too much pressure.

It fits perfect, is really comfy, durable, and looks totally rad. I slapped an old school retention NVG mount on it and I love it.

"awesome helmet but how the heck do you put the helmet cover on? my helmet cover i bought from evike ( Mil-Spec Enhanced PASGT Combat Helmet Cover ) and it has these weird clip things. how the heck do i put the cover on?

"The MICH TC-2002 is a very nice piece of gear. It is not a real balistic helmet but gives you a much more professional look on the field. The high cut ear guard will not protect you ear, but will allow you to use otherwise bulky headsets and still offer some protection.

In airsoft, the bb's will not penetrate your skull, so this peice of equipment is not nessecary, but it never hurts to look just a little bit cooler.

"Like the MICH 2000 replica, this is great for the price. Much more solid then most of the PASGT replicas out there. For some reason though, the MICH 2002's seem to be a bit heavier than the 2000's.

"So one big reason I bought this helmet was stated that it was "fiberglass". Boy are they wrong, its plastic (found this out by drilling the NVG shroud holes, which are marked on the inside BTW. Strike one. The pads are not the best but I also understand that it can't fit everyone's head 100%, but they could have tossed in a extra pad or 2 or 3 or 4. The straps are by far the worst I have ever seen. They should sell this helmet without the straps! I like the looks of the mich 2002 helmet the best so I'll replace the pad set with the US surplus versions, and same with the strap (USMC surplus version). Oh yes the nape H pad keeps the lower straps just low enough to rest uncomfortably on the bottom of my ears, no matter what position the H nape is in or adjusted. The straps are SUPER long!


Pros -
Looks great, even has the textured finish on the outside to slightly resemble the real one.
Light.

Cons -
PLASTIC!!!!!
Straps are bad, very bad.
Could use a few more pads.
Straps are way to long.
Cost, should cost less due to being plastic.
