Matrix Reproduction WWII K98 Leather Rifle Sling

"So you bought yourself a Matrix Kar. 98k and want an on-brand sling so you can carry it/ look & feel cool. At least if you're me. I purchased this at the same time I bought my rifle.

You could do better for cheaper in all honestly. I installed it by looking up videos on how to do so, and that was !
an awesome experience. Felt like a real firearm enthusiast/ soldier. And once I finished, looking at pictures of real Kar. 98's with their slings... I started to feel underwhelmed.

Most pictures I've seen of authentic slings show they were darker in color, much more brown than tan. This is a minor gripe and as long as the sling itself works it's negligible.

Except that's the other issue. The sling is way too long at the end. Every Kar. 98 I've seen has the butt end of the sling very close and snug to the rifle. The last eyelet on this sling is way too far back from the actual edge to achieve this, and you'll find when shooting you're either gripping the sling down or letting it rub against your hand/ dangle off the side. Some pictures I have seen (While writing this review as a matter of fact) completely disregard the buckle and tuck the end of the sling back into the stock. I just tried it and the result was that I now had an unwieldy loop sticking out the side, and I scraped the end of the sling slightly in the process. Not the end of the world, mind you but the point of a review is to assess the product.

At the current price of $50 I can't say I'd recommend this to you. There are more authentic looking (Can't testify to feeling though) slings out there for lower prices. But if you just want a sling and want it to be a brand match then hey, at the end of the day it's just a piece of leather to give you the ability to shoulder your weapon/ free up your hands to type a review of it on your phone. And it does that adequately. Note that I have not yet fielded my Kar. 98 and have as of this time only used it for backyard target shooting.
