"Great scar, has great hop out of the box and comes with an extra spring for fps. Also comes with a hard plastic form pressed case. It is very nice but you have to take off any attachments for it to fit. Will take kwa, cyma(depending on thr model), g&p, ef, MAG, and hex mags and feed with no issue. Battery does go in the top of the receiver. Only deans stick type lipos fit, just beaware the lenght of the battery will determine if you can pull back the charging handle to access the hop. The echo1 11.1v 1100mAH 25c stick lipo fits with no issue and you can still access the hop. Other than, quality replica.

"This review will focus primarily on externals since I won't have any time to get out and put this things through its paces anytime soon, but it works at least. Gearbox sounds decent enough, and it can shoot accurately in the confines of my apartment, but that's about all I can say on the matter.
Externally, this baby is comparable or possibly even better than the VFC SCARS. Rock solid, and even with the PDW stock fully extended, there is minimal wobble. The stock is surprisingly comfy in all positions. Fully extended it had a slightly longer length of pull than the Sig MCX. The middle position still allows you to use the mini cheek rest and aim down your sights/optics depending on your setup. Battery compartment and quick change spring is easy to access, just need a pokey thing to push a button down and slide the stock assembly off. While we're on the subject- no, the stock will not work on another SCAR model. Going to the other end of the gun, the orange tip was a breeze to take off. If anyone was wondering, that 14mm ccw threading in the description is correct! I emailed Evike to be sure it wasn't a typo since this is one of the only Ares guns to have negative threads.
The only quirk I've come across so far was during the disassembly process, trying to get the outer barrel off. First off, the receivers don't separate like the VFC or Cyma/G&G SCARs, you need to slide the upper forward about an inch, then it simply lifts off. However before I could do that, I needed to take off the bottom rail and the front barrel/reciever bushing since the outer barrel and/or hopup seemed to be stuck to the lower reviever or gearbox near the nozzle somehow. It might've just needed a little force to pop off, but I couldn't find any screws or obvious attachment points so I decided not to tempt fate with a brand new gun, and virtually no info on the web so far.
One thing Evike fails to mention is that rather than a cardboard box, this gun comes in a plastic case, with a molded plastic inside for the gun. It's nothing spectacular, especially since thanks to the plastic molding, you can't store the gun with any accessories on it, but it makes for one hell of a first impression.
All in all, this is a must have if you're a SCAR fanboy like myself, or just looking for a unique compact platform.

"Amazing gun, trigger response is top notch on an 11.1v lipo. The gun doesn't come in a card board box, it comes in a cool hard case box with latches and a handle and a spare spring
The battery space is kinda small, its wired to the top that you access from the rear. The only battery I had that fit well was the ASG EVO 11.1v lipos.

"Bought this as slightly smaller back up. And have to say it’s been a pretty good purchase. I’ve fielded it a few times now and think it’s pretty decent. There are a few quirks though that I’ll list below
Pros
-solid rate of fire out the box. Def scares people lol
-comes in a nice case, although useless once you put attachments on
-comes with a alternate spring. So Cqb and feild ready
-nice ambi controls
-great trigger response especially with 11.1s
-shoots pretty far pretty straight for it’s short barrel
-fits all my mags no issues
Cons
-this thing is heavy. It’s the smallest rifle I own, but also the heaviest rifle I own. She’s a chunk to lug around all day
-battery space sucks. You probably already know that though
-you need a tool to open the battery compartment. You probably already know that too
-grip doesn’t seem to fit super tight. Will probably change this later
-if you use a larger battery, it rubs the inside of the bolt when you go to adjust hop up, be careful with this
-mine seems to jam randomly a lot. A bb will get stuck in the barrel and the gun will just sound like it’s farting (it’s blowing the air out of everywhere but the barrel) quick jam rod fixes this just happens a bit often. (Lancer .25 bios and EMG .28)
All in all I was stuck between giving it a 3/5 or 4/5. A 3.5/5 would be my rating if I could
For $450 the grip should be alittle tighter, and I feel they could have done better on the weight

"The idea for this gun seems pretty cool on paper however in reality not so much. I’ve had to buy this gun TWICE. First time the charging handle and bolt release both broke. When I returned it for another one the pistol grip broke off and I did not even own it for 3 hours at that point. I live on the east coast so shipping times for me are increased as a result, and it took a month and a half of shipping times and at that point I just got store credit. The gun looks cool and all and the plastic case that it comes in is a nice touch, however both the externals AND internals are not worthwhile. And I bought TWO of them and both broke within a day of owning them. Maybe they’ll come out with a gen 2 version in the future and make improvements but until they do, I highly recommend to avoid this one.

"This gun was pretty solid out of the box, I was excited to finally get a SCAR-SC. It’s quite heavy for a PDW, which kinda defeats the purpose. Trigger response with a tiny 11.1 was good, had decent range as well for a short barrel. The fun stopped when shortly into test firing, the pistol grip screws stripped out of the gearbox, leaving me with a gun dangling in my hand by its wires.
I returned it and got something else, as I’ve had far too many experiences with ARES’ shoddy quality control. Won’t fool me again.
Evike customer service is aces though, I was able to swap one for one with a gun that wouldn’t disintegrate in my hands.
I gave it 2 stars because it’s a cool concept and would’ve been of good quality had I not received a lemon.
