"Bought this in 2019. The bucking was folded, so I replaced it with a Maple Leaf 70 degree. Motor had bad heat shielding, popped an ASG 30K in. I have had zero issues with it since. Consistently shoots 340 on .25s. Fits a KAC RIS better than any M4 I've used before. The heavy barrel is sturdy, and the overall weight with attachments (grip, red dot, PEQ, long gun light) is equal to a decked out real steel M4.

Great beginner rifle, perfect for milsim, easily upgradeable while requiring very little modification out of the box.

"Best buy at the price range. Our team bought this and a g&g raider for back ups. For 10 bucks more this out classes the raider. Solid metal construction. Reliable and accurate. Proprietary parts so for a back up gun it makes drop in replacements easy. Hop up bucking might be weird but g&p green and prommies fit i believe so easy fix when it wears out. The g&g might be more upgradable but its still polymer and the kwa if something breaks you just buy the part and put it in. Perfect for a backup gun. Its like a tier under krytac. Only kwa i own but at this price pouit id buy it again and again. Mags can be picky. Just buy kwa mid or hicaps when you order this.

"At this point, I have several years on my KWA M4 and it is without a doubt the most durable gun I have ever owned. It is a dependable workhorse that I am extremely proud to have in my kit. I'll break it down.

Externals - I'll be honest, they are unspectacular and they haven't held up like the rest of the gun. The body is showing some scratches, a few pieces have come loose, the levers, buttons, and handles aren't in great shape, and there are lots of guns in the world with better furniture. They just cost twice as much. One note, KWA M4's don't play well with most magazines. Thankfully, KWA magazines are pretty good and fit perfectly as they should.

Internals - They are rock solid and have held up to abuse well beyond my expectation. I have never gotten this much time out of a rifle with only what I would consider basic maintenance. KWA is generally considered to be best treated as a gun that you take out of the box and leave it as-is and that's more or less what I have done, so I can't speak about upgrading difficulties. It has stayed OEM.

The shooting Experience - I'm going to give this a generic 'good'. At this price point, its excellent. It's responsive enough, its rof and velocity saw through popcans and foes easily, and its accuracy will get you though normal engagement ranges. It's not a sniper, but I don't struggle to hit my target with it.

Overall, I can't recommend this gun enough as either a first rifle or a trusted backup. Even though it has been phased away from being my primary in favor of more modern designs, this is far from obsolete and it still gets used regularly. I tend not to run more than a season or two out of my rifles and I don't get too attached to them. This is the exception. I'd never consider selling it.

"Surprised I'm the first review on this gun. This was my first airsoft purchase in a while and I must say I'm impressed. The build quality is exceptional for a $200 price point. The revised gear box and ~400 fps out of the box is a nice touch. I rarely play games and just wanted a fun backyard shooter so this was perfect for me. Fully stock, the accuracy was pretty decent but I wound up changing the original KWA fin bucking with a G&P one. I also added a 407mm madbull 6.03 tightbore barrel, front rail, red dot, and foregrip, and now this thing is insanely accurate up to 150ft. I'm hitting mailbox sized targets with ease and the ROF is great, even on a 9.6 nimh battery. I would suggest using at least a 9.6v nimh or lipo.

Pros:

-Great build quality, sturdy feel, plenty of metal pieces.
-Easily upgraded, except the hop-up really. But stock hop up was fine for me.
-Nice mag, no feeding issues.
-Strong stock FPS / RoF. Using .28 bbs with my upgrades and it's launching them 200+ ft no problem.

Cons:

-The KWA fin bucking may be weird for you. I had to adjust mine to improve the accuracy. If it's slightly twisted it will effect it.
-The stock hop-up hole is thin (where you input the barrel). I went through MANY buckings after getting two different barrels (prometheus and madbull) and only a few would fit w the new barrel into the stock hop up. Forget lonex, it will be too wide. The only that worked for me with an aftermarket barrel were KWA and G&P.

Overall after the mods this thing is sick. I can spray off 20+ shots at a 120 ft mailbox sized target and see / hear each bb hit it with ease. The gun is also great stock, but has a lot more potential!

"Outstanding rifle. I've had it for two years and it still works great. It's pretty easy to upgrade it and turn it into a DMR. Definitely worth the money.

"A really awesome gun haven't had it in battle again but used it for the first time the put a few rounds down range unbelievable for performance reaches out there really far and hit hard can fit a large 9.6 volt 4000 mili amp hour battery in stock build quality is solid but not too heavy to where you would be fatigue out in the field for a long period of time it is fairly long is the only downside but that's the only negative I could come up with for is the length. That's expected with this type of would definitely recommend for out of the box fun this is the best choice it is very very solid and well built went with this gun because I wanted a standard battle rifle with straight iron sights and no optics at all and also wanted to utilize a large 9.6 volt 4000 - 5000 battery my only negative I find is it does not have factory trademarks from any manufacturer except for the manufacture of the airsoft but that's a very minor minor minor things

"German Schutzen IS the most demanding accuracy competition for any air soft rifle, the KM16BR equiped with the KWA Teflon/ nitride, tight bore 602, and useing the stock iron sights, (rules) This KM16BR,gx2, is a competitions winner, the very serious Schutzen rifleman are using this same setup, powerful, accurate and overbuilt, this rifle has become a classic of great preformance producing a string of wins in Schutzen air soft, (service rifle class) giving years of preformance and reliability. Schutzen will often use the 8.4 v nimh, the best .25 soft pel avalible (KWA again) Shutzen is a test of accuracy, the rifle, and the shooter, ranges varry so a excellent hop up is required, surprisingly the stock unit is excellent, the full size rifle gives the best iron sighting radius, it's often joked that the BR stands for "bench rest"; this rifle is outstanding, period full stop.

"I've had this gun for about 5 years and it has never once had a problem. Mine shoots at about 425 fps with .20's but I tend to use .25's with this beautiful rifle. It's solid, strong, and has a great weight to it. At 285$ this gun is worth the money IF you're looking for a reliable gun that will get very respectable distance, can fire fast, and can handle a large battery.

If you're looking to eventually upgrade your rifle and you're not comfortable with using blades and saws on your pieces, look elsewhere. Other than spring upgrades you AREN'T going to find many upgrades for this, and getting an alternative handguard to fit this piece has been extremely difficult.

"I own two of these rifles. I have owned many different brands and kwa has always delivered a rock solid product. I mainly sell Kwa in my shop simply because of the superior build quality and longevity of the products they make. The Sr12 is another fine example of the pride and integrity Kwa puts into their products.

They weight about the same as a real m16 so be prepared for that. I personally like the weight but I can see how others would prefer something lighter. Also they are more expensive than most rifles but you get more than your money's worth. I Strongly recommend this rifle.

"This gun is sexy as hell. My friend has a Kwa sr10, so we decided to compare them. What we found out was that the two gun are the exact same functionality-wise, and the sr10 is 65$ more. The only reason this one costs less is because it has a full stock and a hand-guard instead of rails. Personally I don't mind this at all. The only downside is that if you have a long rifle scope it doesn't fit correctly due to the hand-guard. Other than that, It's a great buy

"This was my first rifle I ever bought not from evike but from a local retail, this gun is the best I've ever owned I've only upgraded the spring (150)and inner barrel (6.03) and have owned it for over 7years with no problems at all(regular maintenance/cleaning) this gun is flawless and recommend it to any assault rifle player there is only one con I have found with this gun over the year and its the fuse this gun is lipoready out of box but the fuse wears fast upgrade to a 50a fuse and you'll be fine for a couple months if quality and performance is what your looking for kwa has what you need

"Thank god it is back in stock! This is absolutely one of the best airsoft guns I have ever had. It runs smooth and flawless. I love it and you will too. This gun is perfect for DMR set up.

"Great gun, fires hard around 410fps solid range about 150 - 200 ft with hop up adjusted makes a great dmr platform. The only con I can think of is magpul hand guards don't fit without modification had to dremel mine down a good bit to get them to fit in the delta ring.

Pros
shoots hard
nice stock range
fast rate of rife
great dmr

Cons
Magpul hand guards don't fit without modification
