"I just received this sling today, and as someone who has done a lot of leather work/sewing/gear making over the years, I have to say that this is very well made.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the hardware is steel, not aluminum like it says in the description, (I used a magnet to confirm), which is coated to prevent corrosion. The attachment of the D-ring to the strap is with a heavy duty, toothed buckle plate which is clamped and riveted.

The other strap end is fitted with a sliding buckle, and is melted at the end to prevent fraying, and is stoutly sewn to secure the buckle. The strap keeper is a reinforced vinyl cloth with a rivet-which seems sturdy enough considering that there isn't a lot of stress on that point; and it seems to be exactly correct for Soviet slings from what I can see online.

In fact, it seems to be a faithful replica of a Soviet sling with one exception: The rivets on the Soviet sling appear to be hollow quick (akaTandy) rivets; while the ones used on this is the double-headed quick-rivet design. That is a minor quibble for a sling that costs half what the genuine Soviet slings cost.

"This is a well built sling, but you can get a real ak sling from russia for the same price.

"Sling fell apart with very little use. Once sling was attached to rifle it was impossible to take off, and still has not been removed.
