"So far so good. Feeds great in my A&K M249 Middleweight. If you have feed issues and are using a featherweight, its the gun not this box they're just poorly designed guns.
I've only got one day of playing with this, six hours or so in the cold and rain and this mag never skipped a beat, running through at least 6000 rounds trouble free. I can't speak for the quality of the auto wind or sound wind, after past troubles I opted to just get the pushbutton for this and wind it myself as needed which works far more reliably.

"So far I bought two of these mags for my fully built Para M249 Inferno - I have maintained these mags everytime I’ve used them and checked them not beat them up and let them work with the gun and they have fed both beautifully, will be buying a third shortly to keep up with my supply but I bought a Bull gear Box mag and have had nothing but problems shooting at 16 bbs a second she functions well, But ***** YOU NEED TO GO EASY WITH THEM***** It’s Airsoft not real guns and box mags ****

"Got one of these stock with my A&K 249 about 4 years ago. It's had it's issues. Worked well for the first year or so but the sound control stopped working after the mag was dropped while still connected to the gun and ripped the wires from it. Never fed quick enough so I replaced the stock 2x AA with a 4xAA holder and now it keeps up much better. Worked alright for another year or so then it just got unreliable so I ripped the junky little circuit board out, direct wired everything and replaced the sound control with a push button on the side of the mag. Hasn't has an issue since. The actual mechanism for feeding bbs has held up wonderfully. Overall, a little redneck rigging will make it last the life of the AEG.

Summary:

1 year in: Sound control breaks through user error.
1.5 years in: Doesn't feed fast enough. Upgraded from stock 2x AA to 4x AA.
2 years in: Ripped out wiring and replaced. Replaced sound control with push button.
4 years in: Still going strong.

"I bought this from evike a while back and havent had any issues with it. I never bothered with the sound controlled mode so cant say much there as I wired the mag straight to the motor (you can find the how to on youtube). I have never had any feeding issues, no problems of any sort really, and am looking to get another one just in case something happens to mine.

"This is a great Magazine (but) As a note eventually the gears start to wear down and you Must GREASE Them for better use other then that they rock.

"man this magazine is awesome! have only had a single jam (fake bullets flipped open the magazine well cover and unseated the magazine). but this magazine has an INSANE capacity and is more than enough for a couple games in a row without reloading. though I would recommend giving it a top-up every couple rounds. the autoloading feature is probably the best feature about this mag because it allows for several sustained bursts in quick sucession without stopping to wind. though it does make any CQB hard because it sticks way out to the side making the SAW hard to use for CQB though a quick switch to an M4 mag would work well. I have not had any jams pertaining to the mag and gun itself because i have not reloaded it in a battle (Phew!) but you need to be sure to flip open the magwell and shake all the BB's out so they don't hinder the mag seating.overall a 9.8 out of 10 the -.2 is because of the CQB problem and the tendency to jam unless the magwell is fully emptied.

"It seems like I tried every m249 box mag offered at Evike, and this one that comes with most M249s is the most reliable. I got another as a back up. I run a P* F2 in a M249 which shoots about 18rps. Unmodified, the box mag can keep up with sound control, but it will need you to manually turn on for most consistency as sound control does not always trigger. Didn’t have any issues with it when my gun was an AEG which fired about 8rps.

For most consistency, I was able to wire the box mag to Airsoft Junkiez’s TCU. So whenever I pull the trigger, it will wind.

"Just recently fielded it at a game. Overall the drum mag works efficiently save for the sound control was not working. One issue I had was there is a feed issue, this is due to the feed spring/tube not being fully inside of the mag adapter this led to the box mag not feeding. However this was easily and quickly solved by slightly spreading the Mag adapter and inserting the feed tube fully in to it.

"Good mag. However the mag has difficulty continually feeding at more than 16 rps. To solve this, open the mag and lubricate the gears. You also need to sand down the screw posts by the feeding spring tube, to prevent jams. This makes the gun feed faster and smoother. If you really need a even higher feeding rate, increase the voltage to a 9V battery.
Overall, recommended, but needs some work.

"Well I got this box mag and it works extremely well on a stock FN CA249. There is no feeding issue or any real big problems, It was a lot bigger than expected but that's fine.
There is one problem with this box mag and its the sound control, The soldered connection is just terrible. After a re-solder it works fine but it is on a very very small mic and if you accidentally complete the circuit it won't work.. The sound control option does give you a good venue to rewire it to your gearbox and have a trigger control option.
I've ran .2 .23 .25 and .28 with no feeding issues, all biodegradable of course

"hey this sounds kind of dumb but ive got an interesting hypothesis...

if m4 mags fit into the m249...could this box mag kit into the magwell of the m4?

or is it too short?

"I've been a SAW gunner for almost a year now, and though the sound control is awesome you need to be careful about overwinding. It has that feature like any other high cap mag so you cant't overwind but sometimes it jams itself because of it. I have gotten pretty good at field repairs with it but it is a huge pain for both you and your teamates who are covering you. I don't recomend taking it apart like I do, but there may come a time when you have to just because. To avoid this, only put clean bb's in and avoid letting any sort of debri in. It's bad for both the mag and the gun if it gets through. Other than that this mag is KA. Sorry if I bored you with the maintenance stuff. I just hoped it helped if you had any questions.

"The one which came with the gun was used twice, it feed nicely and both the sound control and auto winding worked and i used it all day, which was the first time, the second the feeding mech switch got pushed in due to me dropping which ended up breaking it. i then order this one, and it worked out of the box but when i wanted to use at a game, immediately the feeding stopped working and i had to take it apart to get it working again, the problem with it was bbs got stuck or jammed the gears up so i had to open it up to get the bbs out.
