" If you can appreciate the goofy sci-fi looks, you'll love this rifle. Out of the box the Dragon is a lightweight compact short barreled M4 with weird yet comfy furniture. The main con of the STAR Dragon is the cramped battery space, however that can be fixed. I cut down a RIS rail, drilled two holes in the front left side of the body kit (heh), mounted the RIS rail (used blue threadlocker too) & then attached a battery PEQ box. Drilled a hole and fed the battery wire through & upgraded to deans connectors. Now I'm hooked up with a Titan power 6000 MaH 7.4. With stuff like this, there's no problems, only solutions. I carefully dremeled off some of the body kit so I could mount a small light & carry handle rail/red dot. Pulled the stock off so I could flip the sling mount and put a Blackhawk one point on it. Finished off my meddling by threading on an amp. Make your tools work for you.
The Dragon shoots nicely, around 350-375 and has a solid ROF. Pretty much a mid-range V2 airsoft AEG. It's not a Krytac but certainly not a LPAEG. It's compact enough to be used in CQB but has enough range for outdoor play. The dragon is light enough that you won't be fatigued from carrying it all day. You can quickly switch to a sidearm or grenade because the STAR dragon is small & doesn't get snagged on gear/bunkers/branches. The short mag I got didn't feed too well, however I have tons of M4 mags and just use those instead. I love how people are either amazed or disgusted when I pull out the STAR Dragon from my gun case. I enjoy it all, the bants at the fields are sometimes more memorable then the games. The only other time I've seen a STAR Dragon at a field is in a random glass case in Project N1 near the VIP room. This rifle is weird, cheap & fun to use, definitely recommend. You can be unique yet use common M4 mags & V2 gearbox parts.
" What an amazing rifle this is!
To start let's get the one issue I have with it out of the way: I don't like how high the cheek rest is. It is so high that it is hard to use the iron sights, impossible to use them if you are wearing a wire mesh mask.
Now for the good:
It is accurate! I use this gun as a small simi auto sniper for mid to long range engagements (50-110 yards)
The hop up is a little too strong for .25s but it works great with .36s - .40s so the ammo is a bit more pricey, but that didn't bother me much since that weight range is what I buy most of my bbs in.
It's really cool looking!!! Constantly get complements on it. And it looks even better with a tracer unit and some glow bbs.
The internals are good and don't even need to be upgraded for the standard airsofters and with the low price of this gun compared to others of the same performance, I highly recommend getting this for a first gun, or second, or third, or just to have it.
10/10 probably going to buy a second one.
" How often do you have to feed this thin?
Can I put it in the same aquarium with my other fish??
