" i had an old m14 that didnt work and i didnt feal like messing with a v7 gearbox so i just bought this one and had evike.com do the tweeking and install of the m120 spring and it works amazing along with a kwa hop up bucking and an angel custom 6.01 barrel and havent cronoed it yet but sure its in the 375-400 fps range. it sounds smooth and crisp cant wait until someone is on the other end of this.
" this is just a standard m14 gearbox, so its good for upgrades and such. i got it to fix a broken m14 not knowing the original brand of the gun. it works in the gun just fine (after i fixed the hopup, duh) but the safety mechanism doesn't quite click into place. so it doesn't work now (not broken, just out of place). this is good for a quick fix to your gun though.
" ok to start the gearbox i was working on could have been pretty old but still..... the shell is crap, it shattered when i shot it outside of the gun. next the gears. the gears are fine even with the age of the gun and the only wear i saw was on the pinion gear (due to bad motor height adjustment) but it probably would last another 20,000 BBs or so, the only thing to complain about here was that there was only shims on the sector gear, the rest had none. next, the piston had some bad wear on it, it would have given out in the next 5,000-10,000 BBs. then as always i had to scrape a ton of that chines grease out. the only good things on this gearbox was that the anti reversal latch staid in without having to hold it and the spring was very easy to get in and out. all in all i would not suggest this but it is alot cheaper than a g&p gearbox and it might have just been the age and high use of the gun
