"I purchased the black/SBR version, for my first AEG. The primary reasons are that I own an actual Sig556, and that the closest venue for playing is a CQB facility, so I wanted something nice and compact. So here goes. Please bear in mind that I don't have a lot of basis for comparison with other AEG's so far, having only played with a few different models so far.

The SG556 by Cybergun/Swiss Arms is an excellent piece of kit. Its weight and feel are just like my real one. As another reviewer noted, there are a couple of minor differences with the real firearm. Specifically, the charging handle significantly different, as is the blade in the front sight. The rear flip-up sight is pretty flimsy, and not exactly the same as the real firearm's sight. That said, it's pretty flimsy on the REAL firearm as well, and I replaced it before I ever even took the thing to the range.

I don't believe it comes with a MOFSET, and it would be frankly amazing if it did for this price point, but I haven't had the reason or opportunity to tear apart the gun yet to get a good look at the internals. Even so, the stock trigger response is pretty nice, and it has a reasonably good ROF in full-auto. I matched it with a Evike's 1.5x30 red/green dot sight (which I'll review separately), and a couple of 6mmProShop M4 mid-cap magazines. So far, the magazines function and fit perfectly in this gun, and have the added benefit of being pretty inexpensive. The one I purchased seems really battery efficient as well, compared with the other AEG's I've played with. I'm very glad the pic rails are all metal, because I feel as if they offer a lot more stability than polymer pic rails, for any optics or accessories are mounted on them. I'm entirely satisfied with my purchase, but as with most things, there are a few things that could be improved. Please don't take the following as reasons not to get this gun, because it really is great. They're just minor quibbles.

The manual is very brief and offers very little information to the buyer. In fact, in the case of this particular piece, a lot of the information it contains is outright incorrect and applies to a different version of the SG556 AEG altogether. It notes that the battery is located in the forward handguard, but it's actually located in the adjustable stock. No diagrams of internals, or instructions for disassembly or maintenance are provided. Some of the instructions contained are unclear, such as the instructions for adjusting the hop-up (accessed by pulling back on the charging handle). Mine came with the hop-up bucking adjusted to the minimum, so it needed to be turned up a bit, which is accomplished by simply turning the adjustment in an upward direction.

While the pic rail on top of the upper receiver is solid as a rock, the forward rails/handguard section wiggles just a bit. I suspect I'll be able to fix that with a bit of minor shimming, but until that's done, I'd avoid mounting a laser on that part of the gun, because I wouldn't trust it to provide a consistent point of aim. It would be fine for a flashlight though.

"My family plays airsoft. Me, my wonderful wife and our 4 children ranging in ages from 10 to 20 (3 boys, 1 girl) We are a family that enjoys hobbies and this is one of our favorites. My daughter bought this rifle last week and we were finally able to get out and give it a run on our own woodsball field. We spent about 15 minutes admiring her newest purchase and shooting it at the range. At 8.5 pounds, it's beefy to say the least. Weight aside, I was impressed. It shot straight and fast. The trigger response seemed pretty crisp and it felt comfortable seated against the shoulder. We then spent the next 3 hours blasting the hell out of each other, lol. We traded weapons occasionally and I was able to run her gun for 2 rounds. AMAZING!! What a gun. I was engaging targets at 65-70 and making solid contact. The weight was never a problem. No feeding issues. No issues at all.

Pros
Tac driver
Range
Sturdy feel
Quiet
Could easily be converted to DMR
Mags feed well
Price

Cons
It's heavy but not unmanageable
Battery compartment is located in handgaurd, not in the stock
That's it... This gun rocks (held its own against my son's Krytac lvoa-c)

"Had it for about a week and a half, and was able to take it out for some simple plinking to see how the hop up, trigger response, and handling was. I was very impressed with all of the above.

Pros:
- Trigger response was very good with a 7.4v and 11.1 20C lipos.
- Hop up unit was very accurate dialing it in with my elite force .25 gram bbs.
- Full Metal heavy weight. (Can be a Con) Feels extremely robust.
- Good rate of fire with both the 7.4v and 11.1 v lipos estimated 20 rps.
- Shoots hard with .25 gram bbs. Estimated 360 fps with .25s.
- Very Ergonomic and is ambidextrous.
- Very nice Tan Paint job and the dark earth polymer furniture matches paint perfectly.
- Takes many M4 mags, mag well is too tight however for both g&g hicaps and midcaps.
- Feeds flawlessly

Cons:
-Heavy (Can be a Pro)
- Pistol grip seems a little creaky at first but I tightened down the screws and problem fixed.
- Smaller battery compartment can only take stick, peq, and small type lipos. (Wired to handguard.)
- Limited rail space on handguard.

Overall I was very happy picking up this gun. I love Sig guns and I like how unique and functional they are It will be a perfect out door field gun!
