"OK, short & to the point! This is a up-date review from-04/28/2023, I had said I had a jam in mine because I wasn't sure how to set the switch on the box mag. This was because I did not get a user manual so I followed some on-line vids. All you can do is before you screw on that conduit to the gun, try the switch in the different positions, and when it starts feeding and the mag is winding AND it stops when you release the trigger YOU ARE THERE where you want to be!!!!!!!!!!!! What I didn't say in the first review is when they fixed it I also had them(with it apart) do it to it on the gearbox. Total up-grade job the best of parts and now it's doing 500 FPS. That was $301.00 to the gearbox, I love my PIG!!!!!!!!! You want the correct flash suppressor this makes the gun-only $30. Another thing I did was get the new A&K 2500rd electric auto wind mag. When they rebuilt the gearbox they put in that by-pass(funny looking plug) so now the ROF switch no longer works! Now there's only one ROF -it kicks ASS for sure-it will keep heads down. Not field legal I'm sure! After the up-grade I'm using an 11.1volt Li-Ion battery, Quite a GUN! This is A SUPERB REPLICA! Hope this clears some things up for M60 Gunners down the road!!! HOORAH! TDB

"This is an outstanding gun for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did not buy mine from EVIKE, BUT I want to save someone some hassel. Make sure you keep the 3 position switch on the mag set to off for normal operation! When you pull the trigger the mag starts winding feeding the BB'S! I put mine to AUTO-thinking auto fire, no good for sure! I'm getting my jammed gear box fixed as we speak. The MOSFETT , ROF control is great, SUPER for the rifle! Full metal great replica no dought!!!!! ADD this one to your collection for sure!!! HOORAH TDB I did not get a user manual with mine, get a great PDF copy on line if you don't get one. Don't forget to get the proper flash surpresser, the bird cage looks like hell!!!!!!!!

"The first time I got the m60VN I thought it was the best thing I've ever purchased in terms of coolness...However, it does come with its own issues.
First off, the clear plastic tube that the magazine comes with must stay on the magazine tube or else the connector will disconnect with the slightest movement
Next, there's the issue with the microswitch. Mine, although not defective, did wear out from too much lipo usage (I recommend using 9.6v nimh for this gun) which caused the connectors inside the micro switch to burn out, keeping the gun in fire until the battery was disconnected. It was an easy fix to replace the microswitch however that has risk of ruining the warranty so I highly recommend that you take it to the wonderful staff at Evike for a quick fix.
Another thing to be careful about with this gun is the connector to the barrel. It sometimes has a tendency to unlock itself which may be a problem when you're on the field but just make sure you check the tightness of the lock when re-attaching the barrel otherwise it could fall off and tear off the connector that lets the gun work.
Overall with these issues the gun is still a 9/10 just because its that cool. The gun is quick to turn heads in a field surrounded by m249's and m4's and makes for a great weapon for my Vietnam loadout.

"I love to hate this amazing gun. (Do not refer to it as a, “LMG”, by the way — it’s actually a heavy machine gun. Both literally and classification-wise.)
I’m new to airsoft but quickly went all in and am loving not only the actual playing a game side, but also the collecting and tinkering aspect. This gun is a great AEG to learn to tinker on and understand how AEGs function. I kinda had to, since it didn’t work out of the box.
After completely tearing it down and checking each thing for operability as I did, I eventually found the problem. Naturally, it was the first thing I thought of but had no means to diagnose and fix — a garbage NiMH battery and charger I bought with it. I do not recommend buying the, “suggested”, battery and charger. Both were defective and their only utility was serving as the reason to disassemble the gun and figure out how it works and all.
I picked up locally A 7.4V LiPo, connected it using the trash small tamiya I will soon be replacing with deans, and the gun immediately worked.
It worked too well, in fact. The chrono I had to do to get my MED for a night skirmish consistently reported close to 420 fps using 0.20g 6mm tracer rounds. I expected the 350ish fps as advertised. Sadly, I could not use this bad boy at night because of it and continue to wait impatiently for next month’s daylight game.
I guess that gives me time to purchase an ace tech brighter c tracer, because this thing with a tracer unit is a sight to behold,
Summary
Frustrating as hell but I refused to RMA because it’s just too darn cool and fun. Worth it.

"To preface, I bought this when I made the jump from backyarding with clearsoft to actual field games. Had an issue where the gearbox was seized when I got her but sending her back for tech fixed the issue. I've had her for nearly two years now and she runs just as great as she did the first time I shot her. Surprisingly enough she's a lazer beam at 30-40 yards with .25s.
PROS:
-Fairly reliable as far as airsoft lmgs go.
-Easy to tech as the gb slides up and out after a few screws
-Dadgum accurate for an lmg
-Rof isn't bad, "mosfet" is doodoo so bypass it and cut the fuse out whenever you get the chance you'll get the highest rof w/o it just won't be able to lower it (though I've found no tactical use for it).
QUIRKS:
-Heavy, but not unreasonably so. It's really the length of the gun itself combined with the bipod and box mag sticking out that can make it awkward. You get used to holding her a certain way
-Eats both batteries and bbs like nothing else. I got a 1600mah thinking it would be fine but that lasted all of about 20 minutes? a 5kmah brick will fit on the far side of the box mag. Same with bbs, you'll want the biggest bag of bbs, .25s work a treat.
-Carry handle isn't as flimsy as people say but still wiggles a bit after regular use, be careful abusing it.
-Barrel detach lever likes to get caught if you aren't aware of it. A small set screw will prevent this.
-Feed tube will, once in a blue moon, come loose and pop out. Every once in awhile, just make sure that little collar is tight to the spring and to the gun.
-Be ready for your arms to be burning by the fifth game of the day.
Overall, I have 0 regrets. Even with her quirks, and all airsoft guns have them, she's my pride n joy. Never fails to get people talking at the field and you will be the scourge of the opposing team. There's a decent amount of aftermarket for her so if you're planning to go that route, you'll be happy; likewise if you want to keep her stock. Just make sure to treat her right and she'll never fail on you. Hope you found this useful.

"Very fun gun it was very easy to take apart and put back together. As long as your willing to lug this beast around you will have a blast.

"Great weapon, after 2 years of use the only thing that died was the electronics, other than that very good handling and even better with an R-hop and adjusted barrel.

"This is a great aeg machine gun! Shoots really accurate and Perfect for reenactment!

"the one problem is the batteries flip the switch on the box mag when you are running or you jolt the gun. i fixed it by cutting a whole in the box mag and battery pouch so i can fix it on the fly.

"This thing is AWESOME!! This thing weighs and looks almost exactly like the real thing. I only have one complaint which is the box mag keeps jamming for a reason unbeknownst to me. Also, the weight might but a little much for a small person (I'm 5' 11" and 160) but other than that i give it a 10/10.

"After having this for a good year i love this gun for good reasons pros are you look awesome handling it but the main problem is the battery usage since you run the gun and the mag off of one battery it tends to kill the battery quite fast if on auto wind but other than that great gun

"This thing is a beast!!!! Got it back in may and it has not had any problems miss feeding at all. The only down side is the fps, had to drop a new spring in it so I could use it at my local field. It shoots consistently. The bipod is detachable which is great if you want to lose a few pounds on the gun.I recommend trashing the stock hop up bucking and drop a G&G green hop up buck because they are the best. Also the 7.62 M60 linked ammo replica DOES NOT WORK with this M60 it takes the 5.56 Saw linked ammo replicas. Other than that 10/10

"In summary, the M60vn receives a five star because it full fills the support roll well, especially for the price. If you want a support gun that isn't an M249, get it.
I've had this M60 for years and have fired at least 25,000 rounds through it, and have had virtually no problems so far. I expect eventually something will break sometime (as any rifle will), but the gearbox is so serviceable that when the time comes I will not be worried to upgrade it.
The build quality is top notch, this rifle does not squeak or rattle, even after all these years. With that quality comes lots of metal, and with that metal comes weight. The M60 is heavy (~18lbs), you honestly should be reasonably built to handle it. But always remember this is a support gun, when I run my M60vn, I stay with a group of riflemen and lay down cover fire while we steadily advance.
The box mag is great. Since it is powered by your AEG battery and will wind when the trigger is pulled, you almost never have to think about it. The fabric bag which holds the box mag is durable and protects the hard plastic of the box mag.
Some cons: The carrying handle seems relatively weak, I suggest carrying the rifle in your left hand, just in front of the box mag (works better anyway). The bipod works, but try not to ram it into a tree/fall on it, it could break. No rail space (its Vietnam era..). That's all.
Additional features:
- Quick change barrel is nifty and makes removing the barrel a 20 second operation.
- Realistic detailing, even down to the rear sight adjustment
- Long barrel results in accurate groupings, especially when the bipod is deployed
- Turns heads all day long, you'll be known as "The M60 guy"
