Matrix Real Wood Stock For CYMA M14 Airsoft AEG Rifles

"Fits the cyma m14 perfectly. Didn't have to sand or adjust anything at all. It makes the grip thicker (which I like). The only bad thing is that the stock sling loops won't fit and they don't include any sling points that will fit, so I'll have to buy some surplus ones if I want to ever use it.

Fit out of the box was ok. Had to sand out a notch for the charging handle spring guide (the size of this piece may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer), but otherwise everything dropped in fine*. More info further down

Fit of wires through to the butt was tight. I doubt any fuse or hardwired mosfet would fit, the deans connector barely fits. Fortunately the mosfet I installed is easily disconnected, but it certainly would not fit through the grip were it hardwired.

The butt plate holes were not spaced the same as the butt plate off of my G&P, close enough I made it "fit", only to realize I drilled one of the screws into the battery compartment. This sounds worse than it turned out to be, and was certainly still usable, but I drilled out the hole and patched it, and was careful with drilling the new hole for the butt plate. In general, tolerances were not great on holes/cutouts but this was the only serious issue.

It is "solid" (not laminate) wood, and based on the hole patterns I'm guessing A&K OEM or at least from the same OEM A&K uses for their m1a wood stock model. Soft wood, like pine or birch, stained, but not period accurate. Good news is it is very light, downside is I don't expect tremendous durability.

Inside finish is awful. I'm far from a craftsman but do rudimentary woodworking and sanded/chiseled what I could to knock back the splinters and other imperfections that the main body could snag on. Like I said, soft wood made this really easy to work on, although some parts are impossible to get to without speciality tools (passthrough in grip for instance).

Some other points of note:
Rear sling mount is not a standard m14 sling loop. Seems to be an SKS stock sling mount but waiting for parts to confirm.

All fasteners are threaded into brass threaded inserts. Nice for any necessary disassembly.

There really isn't a good way to install a front swivel sling mount for a bipod. I tried but the taper of the front of the stock prevent good contact from the bipod. Also the front sling mount seems further up so there isn't quite enough room to fit it without overhang/interference with a sling. Probably best to get a sling/bipod combo unit if you really want one.

Probably more of a pain than a gain, but it does turn heads so that's worth something.
