It was one of the final developments in the long line of Mauser military rifles. Although supplemented by semi- and fully automatic rifles during World War II, it remained the primary German service rifle until the end of the war in 1945. Millions were captured by the Soviets at the conclusion of World War II and were widely distributed as military aid. The Karabiner 98k therefore continues to appear in conflicts across the world as they are taken out of storage during times of strife.
One of the most iconic bolt action infantry rifles during World War II, the Mauser KAR 98K earned its reputation of being a reliable, accurate and rugged out on the battlefield.
Today KAR 98 rifles are sought after for their historical value as well as their beauty and craftsmanship.
The Matrix KAR 98K does an exceptional job of recreating this historical rifle for Airsoft and reenactment use. The stained wood stock is beautifully crafted and adds a much desired heft to the overall weight of the rifle. The bolt mechanism is very smooth and has a very solid lock up that has minimal play.

" Just received this rifle a few days ago. I love it. It’s awesome lol. I got the faux stock and it’s sturdy. Very light gun. It’s accurate with 25s. The iron sights work and are accurate to the gun once the hop is dialed. It’s quiet. The finish on the metal parts are meh but I’d think it will add character once the finish on the gun starts to wear from use. With the gun I received the bolt is very stiff. Cocking back and forth it’s very stiff. I was concerned at first but after firing a few hundred rounds it’s starting to (break in) I guess but it’s gradually getting smoother. It’s no 400 dollar gun but def worth the 130 I paid.
My expectations for this gun was low but it def proved me wrong. Only thing I dislike is the bolt pull when I first got it. Not a big deal and shouldn’t turn you away from getting this gun. Only thing I can really recommend is pulling the bolt straight back every time. Makes it easier and will cause less stress on aluminum so it don’t warp. I just feel as if that could be a potential weak point later down the road
" Sturdy Rifle
I enjoy the lightness of the moc stalk and the feel of firing it. The bolt action is smooth and iron sights accurate. Once my optional scope is properly setup I will have more data on range and accuracy. For now it’s a 5/5 stars for me, great gun for history fans.
" It’s exactly what I wanted, it shoots well and accurately out of the box, the bolt is a bit stiff but it just needs to be broken in, all an all it’s a great rifle and would recommend
