G&P Metal AK47 Airsoft AEG Rifle with Real Wood Furniture (Package: Gun Only)

"Nice looking but needs some mods and reinforcements to make this a real contender in today's demand based airsoft market.

This model is based off of the Tokoy Marui design (the 4 screws in the bottom of the receiver to hold the front set on). This design is inherently a bit weaker than the VFC/LCT design that is more akin to a real steel design (the front portion of the gun is bolted into place with rivets), so unfortunately this build type can't take the punishment a VFC or LCT can out of the box. That being said, it's still a very nice build and the aluminum alloy body makes it a bit lighter than VFC/LCT design AKs. The aluminum alloy is, however, not as strong as the steel used in VFC/LCT AK AEGs, so it would be wise to undertake some internal structural reinforcements in the front and back on the AEG if you plan on riding it hard. The faux gas tube portion of the AEG that holds the upper handguard is a particularly weak point. Also, you might want to throw a coat of amber shellac on the wood parts to help keep them from chipping and scraping easily, the factory finish can't take much field abuse.

As for the internals, it's typical G&P quality. Everything is nicely put together and balanced and greased, but the stock system is not capapble of handling any higher voltage batteries, particularly 11.1V lipos. The system is NOT lipo ready out of the box and would be better paired with an 8.4V or 9.6V non-lipo battery. One of the big issues in the system is the stock motor, it's a G&P M120 ferrite speed motor. These motors are great for lower power set ups or CQB guns, but since most of us are running lipos now to get that super fast trigger response, your battery may make short work of the motor and the electrical system, especially if you like to mag dump or lay down supressing fire.

The thing to remember here is that this is a dated design internally and externally. While this is a viable option for players who might be feeling a bit of a nostalgia for the non-lipo days, it really doesn't live up to the demands of most of today's players who want, instantaneous trigger response in an AEG, incredible levels of robustness akin to block of titanium and laser-like percision straight out of the box. This is a tuner's AEG who has a flair for the airsoft days of yore and for those who can't get enough of the classic AK-47 design (milled style receivers).

"The gun worled great when i got it fired very fast and the fps was spot on but about a two weeks after getting a battery for it the gear box and motor went out on the gun (i only fired two clips out of it)
